We Show Up for our Patients
Patient Testimonial: Tiffani Kintchen, Breast Cancer
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, let's look back on a patient by the name of Tiffani Kintchen, who was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer. “I was young, I was fit and I didn’t feel like I had cancer. I had no warning signs. I will be honest to say that I didn’t do my mammograms every year as I should have. I knew it was important but…me? Breast cancer? No way. I am sure there are many people who live like that but I truly never guessed it would be me. ” Read her story here.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Mammogram Self- Scheduling
Patients and colleagues can now quickly schedule their annual mammograms online and can choose to have it completed at Research Medical Center and RMC - Brookside Campus. Schedule your mammogram today and encourage patients who fit the criteria to schedule theirs conveniently online.

BEE Award Winner: Liz Berg, PCT 6 West
Congratulations to Elizabeth "Liz" Berg who received a BEE Award after 3 RMC patients nominated her! One patient wrote: "I was very ill with a severe infection. She put me at ease and comforted me during a very stressful time. I also lost my husband during this hospital stay and the emotional support received was wonderful. She displayed compassion and care throughout my stay. She offered to come to the room and talk if I needed. There was nothing I needed or wanted during my stay because she had it covered. This hospital stay was made pleasant due to her. She is an intelligent, caring, sk illful, and hard working person." Thank you Liz for showing up for our patients and caring like family. Send kudos to Liz!

As of Saturday, Research Medical Center is in second place with the most donations of our Division hospitals after Menorah Medical Center. Can we come in first? There is still time to donate! HR Tidbit: What to Know about HCA Short - Term Disability Plan Benefits
As a result of a new process implemented Aug. 1, the HCA Short Term Disability Plan now pays all benefits claims through the payroll system instead of a third party administrator (Sedgwick) paying claims. Participants with short term disability benefits claims will receive benefits payment in their regular paycheck instead of receiving a separate check from Sedgwick. In addition, participants will pay for benefits coverage through paycheck deductions instead of receiving separate direct bills from BConnected. There are no other changes to the HCA Short Term Disability Plan, and the Time Away From Work Service Center will continue to administer short term disability and leaves of absence. Participants with questions can call the Time Away From Work Service Center at (855) 858-7557.
Administrator on Call (AOC)
CNO Julie Filbeck was the AOC this past weekend where she reported that her rounds were good with all units staffed well with nurses. She attended morning huddle and helped rearrange staff to help with ED holds. Thank you to Amber at RPC for making some rearrangements as well to account for the holds.
