INSPIRING AND PREPARING PEOPLE TO LEAD A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR AOTEAROA BLAKE’s purpose is to restart people caring for the environment, and like Sir Peter Blake we want to do this through adventure, participation, education and enjoyment. Our experiential learning programmes aim to connect young people with the environment, teach them about the challenges it faces, and develop their leadership skills and confidence to action positive change into the future. Your generous support of the Great Blake Race will go directly toward funding our environmental leadership programmes.

Entry & Registration
Registration entry is via the Eastern (far) entrance of the Squadron at 1pm – upon arrival you will be directed to the meeting area for your boat – for drinks and nibbles plus the briefing, in the Squadron’s Ballroom.
Evening guests from 5pm: Entry is via the main entrance.
Parking Dress Code
We encourage you to catch taxis to the event where possible. If you bring your own vehicle please park within the white lines. Smart casual throughout the event, it’s all about having fun.
What do I wear sailing: It’s always best to wear layers as the weather may change at any time, include a rain jacket, sunscreen and soft nonmarking soled shoes (please no high heels). Caps and sunglasses are optional. Lifejackets will be provided and must be worn at all times while racing.

Evening Event
We have a dedicated coat check room in the main reception area with a Concierge. You can be as involved in sailing the boat as much or as little as you want to be or just sit back and enjoy the sail on the gorgeous Auckland harbour. Please remember that your skipper and crew have generously donated their time and yacht in support of this event so we ask that you please be respectful and courteous whilst onboard. Fun! It will be a vibrant party atmosphere with the ‘Great Blake Race’ prizegiving, live music, live auction and premium food tasting stations with beverages to match. The idea is to mix and mingle, have a dance and participate in the fundraising for two great causes - buy a raffle ticket or three and bid on the silent and live auction items! Any Questions? WELCOME Its time again for the RNZYS Charity Regatta and Auction. This is a popular event, where we partner with BLAKE to deliver a great experience for you and your guests on and off the water. The day is about participation and enjoyment and raising funds to go towards the RNZYS International Sailing Fund to help our young sailors and Club Members participate on the international stage and BLAKE facilitate opportunities for the young leaders of today to focus on improving tomorrow’s environment. On the water you will get to experience sailing on a variety of Members’ yachts, who are hosting you in support of the above cause. Following the sailing you can share your day’s experiences with an amazing array of food and beverage from the team at the RNZYS, with a live band and bid on the live and silent auction items. This is a great opportunity to network with many of your corporate businessmen and women, who are all here to support the cause.
