This will ensure the ongoing support and success of our programmes, specific projects and training for future generations to also enjoy. What your legacy will support: The International Sailing Fund was established in 1980 with the aim of assisting our members to participate at the highest level of international sailing and help maintain our reputable sailing history. Sailors can apply for funds to assist with some of the costs incurred by competing in regattas, such as entry fees and travel. These are applied for and issued as grants and available to ALL members' competing overseas. This has helped us to stay at the top of sailing in the world. Our vision: Is to be able to issue $100,000 in grants per year through this fund. ROYAL NEW ZEALAND YACHT SQUADRON

YOUTH TRAINING PROGRAMME & LEARN TO SAIL

What your legacy will support: The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron Youth Training Programme (YTP) is an intensive sail training programme for young sailors in a disciplined environment. This programme has long been regarded globally as a leader in Youth Training and is the country’s most comprehensive, advanced keelboat programme, a large number of graduates from YTP go onto representing NZ at The Ocean Race or America's Cup level. Our Learn to Sail programme is NZ's leading adult learn to sail programme with the aim to increase participation in the sport of sailing and to enable participants to feel more safe around the water. These programmes also encourage participants to become members of the club. Our vision: Is to have a long term fund in place that ensures these programmes & equipment are well resourced and remain viable well into the future. ROYAL NEW ZEALAND YACHT SQUADRON

KAWAU BOAT SHED DEVELOPMENT

What your legacy will support: There is a plan to develop the RNZYS facilities on Kawau Island and have the ability to adequately host training camps and other events in a purpose built environment. We hope to replace our existing boat shed facility with a new facility which includes sleeping, kitchen and function facilities. This will not only enable the club to use this for our existing programmes & events but also allow members access to Kawau. Other groups and events (non members) will be able to hire this facility at a cost to support the running of the facility. Our vision: Is to enhance the assets that the RNZYS currently has on Kawau thus improving the sport & member use. This project is approximately $2.5m to achieve this vision.
