The Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron is New Zealand’s leading yacht club, with an illustrious history dating back to its formation in 1871. The RNZYS is also the official home of the America’s Cup after Emirates Team New Zealand, representing the RNZYS, won the oldest sporting trophy in the world at the 35th America’s Cup in Bermuda in 2017. In 2021 the RNZYS will celebrate 150 years of existence that will see a variety of regattas and events take place throughout the year. None more so important than the America’s Cup Defence itself. We invite you to join us for this very special year.
Welcome to the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron We look forward to welcoming you at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) and to Auckland – City of Sails – for the Mastercard J Class World Championship in March 2021. Our Club will be celebrating its 150th anniversary over this time and we warmly invite you to access the facilities and events available during your visit. Our team are hard at work, designing an exciting regatta programme with on and off the water events that we hope will involve you in our kiwi lifestyle, connecting you with our city and with the stunning Hauraki Gulf. Your regatta, along with the AC36 regatta, is our priority. In addition, we have included several itinerary options in this publication that we thought might be of interest. We have put together a select committee of RNZYS members and staff to ensure your stay in New Zealand is a wonderful and memorable experience. By all means, feel free to contact us if we can offer anything that may suit you more personally. I look forward to welcoming you all to the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, Home of the America’s Cup for our sesquicentennial.

Does my vessel get Tax Exempt status?
How long can I stay in New Zealand? Our agency handles directly with the Tax Department each month n your behalf and handles all billing to ensure all local taxes are removed where possible. Golden rule – If the item is used or consumed in New Zealand tax must be paid, if the item goes onto the vessel and we can show it will depart with the vessel these are viewed as Tax Free.
