Reflexión The present syllabus of Linguistics content, it was helpful for our skill to comprehend some grammatical points because with the resource of “An introduction to English Morphology”; “An introduction to English syntax” & “An introduction to language” we could appreciate different ways to analyze the language that we studied during the semester.
First of all, we started speaking about how language is composed since its bases called Phonetics, which is the study of the ways or manners of how we produce sounds, then, we studied Morphology and its minimal unit the Morpheme and how the category of the words could change using only morphemes.
Syntax and its minimal unit which are phrases and sentences and the category of the words to make analysis of trees diagrams, semantics with the meaning of the words in different purposes to determine how to express our ideas and pragmatics and the context of the words to determine the final idea in contrast whit the environment on which it is immersed.
In conclusion, this content that we studied was very helpfulness to understand the main aspects of how the language is connected with everything but the most important thing about this content was the deep analysis that we successfully done over the course of the syllabus and now, we had the skill of the critical point of view to analyze the content of an unknown word and discover it only by morphology reflection.
