is steeped in history, with one off prototypes and cars that dreams are made of …..

Coupled with this on the drinks side there were a variety of beers, sparkling wine, chardonnay and Shiraz, along with orange juice, soft drinks and mineral waters …

The vehicles displayed are constantly changing, with cars being rotated on a regular basis so that maintenance, cleaning and testing can be done without too much interruption to the display. However good these cars on the ground floor display may have been paled into insignificance to most “Porshafiles” present on the night, when they visited the first floor of the building and came across, what was truly the highlight of the evening, this being the most recent acquisition by Lindsay of the Private “Sapphire Blue” Porsche Collection of Gregor Piech.(great grandson of Ferdinand Porsche).A fabulous night was had by all those who attended, and if the results of our Member Survey following the event is anything to go by, every facet of our evening was a true success.

At some stage during the evening everyone had the pleasure of being able to partake in a tour of the Fox Classic Car Collection, and none were disappointed. Housed in the historic Queen’s Warehouse and consisting of two whole floors, the collection contains dozens of the world’s most rare and prestigious vehicles. These cars have been collected over a 50-year period by Lindsay, and donated to a Trust to raise funds for charity and for the public to enjoy.

Lindsay has a passion for classic vehicles, with his collection including models from Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, Porsche, Ferrari, Bentley, Volkswagen, Ford, Rolls Royce, MG, Lexus and Nissan between 1923 and 2020. The collection

I must take this opportunity also, to thank all those committee members who assisted in making our night such a great event, from Geoff Mould and his helpers in the car park, to Carly (and her daughter - Delani), Vicki Sturzaker, Paul Sbrissa, Stephen Lofthouse and Werner Engel on the registration desk. Anna Cook for assisting with organising the catering, and many others who assisted on the night. On behalf of the club also, a very special thank you to Bernard Martin – Fox Classic Car Collection and Nicole Sullivan – Project and Event Coordinator – Fox Classic Car Collection for their support in assisting us to get this event off the ground.
