WELCOME TO LOOK LOCAL IN THE SUMMER TIME As I am writing this message, it’s a sunny, blue-sky evening and the birds in my garden are really going to town! This also confirms that it really is the season for Summer Fetes and outside events. We have news of and/or coverage of the pick of the bunch locally! On the coverage front, I hope you enjoy seeing how the team at Bruce’s Doggy Day Care got on when they opened their doors on a lovely sunny Saturday this month. A great turn out for this ever-popular annual event. I think the humans enjoyed it nearly as much as the dogs! As well as this we share some really lovely photos of the Royal Kent School Summer Fair – what fun! On a slightly different note, we are delighted to include a fabulous WI Centenary event which took place in near-by Bookham; Michelle and I went along and had a great afternoon which was also enjoyed by the many members who attended from the surrounding local areas too. Tea and cake were of course, made and enjoyed by most! Also included, news about the new Oxshott sign! Inspired by the Cobham sign this is another inspirational design and I’m very sure it will look stunning when in place. There are many fabulous summer events still to come including Open Air Cinema at Painshill Park, and multi cultural delight from Musical Director Jeremy Avis who brings, ‘Earthly Voices’ to Brooklands this month. Well worth booking your tickets now! See page 34. If you fancy some culture of a slightly different nature, we have another fab competition this month; The Immersion Theatre Company are offering the chance to win a family ticket to see their production of ’Peter Pan’ – turn to page 47 for further details. That’s about it from me this month, we will be back with another issue in September, so until then, I wish you all a wonderful Summer.

SCHOOL CLAREMONT FAN COURT

Claremont Fan Court School’s pupils, parents, staff and governors have been saying a very fond farewell this summer term to Jonathan Insall-Reid who will be retiring from his role as Head of the Senior School after thirteen highly successful years. During Jonathan Insall-Reid’s time as Headmaster at the School, Claremont Fan Court Senior School has gained a reputation for exceptional pastoral care, an extensive co-curricular programme, the highest of academic standards and excellent examination results. The School’s building programme is well underway and our new thirteen-room science and technology building will open in the coming academic year.

‘This list of achievements, along with the knowledge that Claremont has been the happiest of schools that I have ever worked in, is reason for me to be very pleased. Having the loveliest of girls and

boys at our School, and enjoying the support of their families, is a source of great pleasure and pride to me.’ William Brierly currently Senior Deputy Head at King’s College School, Wimbledon, will take over from Jonathan Insall-Reid in September. Mr Brierly is proud to be joining Claremont Fan Court at such an exciting time in the School’s history.

‘Claremont Fan Court is an exceptional School with wonderful potential. I am delighted to have this opportunity to lead the School into the next decade, build on its strengths and further hone its unique offering to deliver a world-class education to the children of Esher, Elmbridge and South West London.’

Seeded Barley Salad WITH FETA DRESSING

Ingredients Method 100g pearl barley 50g Waitrose Love Life Mixed Seeds 25g pack fresh basil ½ x 25g pack fresh mint Grated zest and juice of 1 lemon 50g pack Waitrose Love Life Mixed Roasted Almonds, chopped 50g pack Good 4U Super Sprouts 1 large avocado, peeled, stoned, cubed 50g wild rocket leaves, roughly chopped 125g feta cheese 200ml natural yogurt

1. Place the pearl barley in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to a simmer and cook for 40-45 minutes until very tender, adding more boiling water if required. Drain and leave to cool. 2. In the meantime, place the mixed seeds in a dry frying pan and cook over a gentle heat until golden. Set aside to cool. 3. Tear the basil leaves and chop the mint. Place the cooled pearl barley in a large serving bowl and stir through the herbs, toasted seeds, lemon zest, almonds, sprouts, avocado and rocket. 4. OXSHOTT VILLAGE SIGN

Following the success of the Exhibition of Short-Listed designs for a Village Sign for Oxshott, we are delighted to announce that we now have a winning design! The community vote was very clear, and this was endorsed by the subsequent Judging Panel. The winner, Robert Jones is a former Oxshott resident, now retired and living in Cobham. A traditional village sign should represent the history, heritage and culture of the place, and Robert’s design makes reference to all of Oxshott’s history. - Oxshott was first recorded in 1179 and was known then as Occa’s Sceat - meaning the strip of land tended by Occa - The coming of the railway in 1885, with passenger and goods trains represented, as well as the UK’s first ever reinforced concrete bridge - The brick works, opened by John Early Cook in the late 1880’s represented by the brick, the chimney and the coal train - The Scots Pines, Oaks and War Memorial on Oxshott Heath - The world famous Oxshott Pottery created by Denise Wren and daughter Rosemary whose potter’s mark was a wren - The Royal Kent School which will be 200 years old in 2020, and the church.

20 Looklocal Magazine - Summer 2018

Discussions with forges are now taking place to see how best to develop and progress this design to ensure that it will be something that the entire community can feel proud of. The Judging Panel was impressed by the high standard of the designs submitted by young designers, and it was agreed to award prizes to the two best children’s designs, again helped by the way in which residents had voted. So congratulations to Christina Steven from Royal Kent and Amelie Wadey from Danes Hill who will each receive a £25 book token at their respective school assemblies later in June. There is still much work to do, for example, liaising with Surrey County Council to confirm that the sign can be erected on their land, and then planning permission has to be sought. The design itself is quite complex and will evolve as production becomes a reality. Further funds will need to be raised and this is where residents, businesses and local organisations can help. Donation pledges can be made via our website www.oxshottvillagesign.com or by email to oxshottvillagesign@gmail.com Finally a heartfelt thank you to all those who have the supported the project to date – we believe the community has made a fine choice and will be immensely proud of their very own traditional village sign.

OXSHOTT VILLAGE DAY DONATES

£6000 TO SHOOTING STAR-CHASE

Carmen Robinson (L) presenting the Oxshott Village Day cheque for £6000, to Ellie Bennet of Shooting Star-Chase.

This year, Oxshott Village Day was able to make a donation of £6000 to Shooting Star Chase; the presentation of the cheque took place on 16th May. The sun shone brightly on the May 7th Bank Holiday, and both residents and non-residents of Oxshott enjoyed, once again, glorious warm weather and a range of family entertainment as the Oxshott Village Day celebrated its 11th year on the grounds of Oxshott Village Sports Club. The day was a great success and the event was attended by over 4,000 people despite the scorching spring sunshine. The supported charity for the day was Shooting Star Chase which had its own stall at the Village Day. Jenny Day from BBC Radio Surrey was there and was busy interviewing Shooting Star-Chase, stall holders and members of the public. May 7th was a great day for our Oxshott Village Day, especially after the very wet Spring weather leading up to it. We were very worried that the grounds at Oxshott Village Sports Club would be too wet and soft to be able to hold the Village Day, and we had fears of having to cancel the event. It was just a few days before the weekend that fortunately the weather changed in our

favour and we were able to go ahead. There was plenty of family entertainment for all ages from classic cars to the fun fair and the day was smoothed by the lovely music from the Jazz Band. The traditional Punch and Judy attracted a lot of young children and gave them a good time while the face painting was very popular. The climbing wall is always a hit. Centre Stage Dance and Drama gave us a spectacular show, and the Circus & Clowns workshop always attracts a lot of children of different ages. Many families picnicked on the lawn under the shade of the trees and enjoyed the 75 stalls offering lots of shopping and eating opportunities, which included: the hog roast, cakes, ice cream, jerk chicken, Mexican and vegetarian food as well as speciality coffees. We want to recognise and thank all our sponsors, raffle-prize donators, and Oxshott Village Sports Club; without them it would not be possible to hold the Village Day. Oxshott Village Day is organised and run by volunteers from Oxshott and Cobham, with the work starting at the beginning of January, each year.

THE GOOD OLD W.I. Time used to fly at such a hectic pace. Life was just a never-ending race But, I found I had more time, as years went by, So thought that I should join the WI. And as I live next door, it seemed to me, That this would be the perfect place to be. When I told my friends what I had done, They said “ Oh, yes. They have a lot of fun”. The men said “Will you take off your gear, To appear upon the calendar next year?” But no-one’s asked me to remove my clothes, Behind a plate of buns and strike a pose. In spite of that, I’m glad I took the plunge. I’ve renewed the skill of making chocolate sponge And knitted lots of brightly coloured squares Enjoying good companionship we share. Friendships made that lasted through the years Sharing days of happiness and tears. So, long may live the good old WI To be a tower of strength for you and I.

REVIEWS SUMMER BOOK

‘The Sparsholt Affair’ byAlan Hollinghurst (paperback £8.99)

Alan Hollinghurst has the ability to evoke the spirit of a generation with a turn of phrase and the talismans of everyday life. The Sparsholt Affair, following a family through seventy years and three generations from October 1940, is an immersive journey through the atmospheric changes those years bring. Through protagonists who feel slightly apart from their peers Hollinghurst exposes the insecurities and frailties of all his characters, as everyone seeks a sense of belonging. Even those who consider themselves part of established normality find that the ground shifts over time as laws, love, society, and family structures open out into new shapes and possibilities.

‘World Without Mind: The Existential Threat of Big Tech’ by Franklin Foer hardback £18.99 (paperback due September) As someone with little understanding of how social media is constructed I found this illuminating read surprisingly easy to connect with. Foer has delivered a fascinating and necessary plunge into the narrow minds of the powerful men who drive the engines of Amazon, Facebook, Apple and Google, and who are changing our world on a daily basis to suit their ambitions. Foer has inside experience of how social media changes minds, and understands the psychological importance of reading offline: “The page permits us, for a time in our day, to decouple from the machine, to tend to our human core.” Enjoy a few hours of independence from the hive mind by turning off your devices and exploring the pages of this book without distraction.

‘Washington Black’ by Esi Edugyan (hardback published 30th August, £14.99) George Washington Black, an 11 year old field slave on a Barbados sugar plantation, is terrified to be chosen by his master’s brother as a manservant. Christopher Wilde turns out to be an eccentric inventor and when a man is killed and a bounty placed on Wash’s head they take flight and arrive in the Arctic in search of Christopher’s errant father. Here Wilde disappears and Wash is forced to make his way through life alone. Based on an infamous 19th century criminal case this is a really amazing story.

He trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and his 45 year career has encompassed Film, TV, Rep theatre, the Royal National Theatre and of course the West End. Amongst his TV and Film work has been Howard’s Way, Goodbye Mr. Chips with Martin Clunes, and EastEnders! Over the last 45 years he has also been a founder and leading player of the British Actors Theatre Company, a director of The Original Shakespeare Company, and the Associate Artistic Director of the Leatherhead Theatre Rep Company. Graham founded Theatre Reviva! , his own theatre

company, in 2017 so as to bring regular, seasonal, theatre productions back into the local area. Journey’s End, set in 1918 and hailed as an anti-war classic, is his biggest and most ambitious production to date. The play is a gripping, classic drama about a group of British soldiers in the trenches in the First World War and he is hugely pleased to be presenting this at his local Theatre. Its first performance in 1929 featured Laurence Olivier in the lead role! And this production also has a cast of notable local actors, and some exceptional sound effects. The 2 venues will be transformed so as to celebrate the centenary of the War’s end, and to help provide a memorable evening. Not satisfied with just the theatre, Graham founded in 2014 the Surrey Hills Community Radio station; and recently set-up LAUNCHPAD, a social enterprise to help young people build up their self-belief and learn employability skills. He is also a partner, with his wife Suki, in Centre Stage Dance and Drama, a dance school based in Oxshott, and Theatretrain, a Saturday Musical Theatre school, run from Royal Kent School, Oxshott. www.theatre-reviva.com

EARTHLY VOICES’ SUMMER CONCERT

A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE THAT COVERS BORDERS, CULTURES, AGES & SKIN COLOUR

Few would argue that there is something unique about singing which brings people together in a curious crosscultural way. Just think of football matches, New Year celebrations not to mention rock concerts. Be it beautiful or less so, belting out songs can bring people together whether or not they speak the same language. Perhaps that is what motivated Jeremy Avis, local choir Earthly Voices’ musical director, to inject some international voices into their latest concert on July 7th in Weybridge, that as well as his background writing music for refugees in Malawi. Working closely with Elmbridge CAN, the community group which supports refugees in the area, Avis is running workshops for displaced individuals and injecting their talents into the choir’s next concert in early July. Avis has extensive wordwide experience, having studied and worked in West Africa and the Middle East not to mention performing as a soloist himself. He recently toured worldwide with Shakespeare’s Globe theatre as Musical Driector for their production of The Merchant of Venice and is regularly asked to perform in festivals and on such stages as The National Theatre on London’s Southbank . However it was football that sparked Jeremy’s imagination so along with musical partner Rebecca Askew, he set up Goalmouth, (www.goal-mouth.org) a UNHCR funded project which had them composing a musical in Malawi

to build bridges between refugees and the local Malawian population. This idea came out of a chance conversation about integration with the head of UNHCR in Botswana some years earlier “He said they were looking for an event that would help with the relations between the Zimbabweans and the Malawians who lived in the town next door to the camp” remembers Jeremy. With the South Africa World cup looming, Jeremy soon had his eureka moment to write a fantasy football musical to address this issue. “Football and singing together: what could be a better recipe for bringing potentially warring communities together in harmony?“ he muses. “My god when the idea actually happened it was electric and set the course of our (Goalmouth’s) work for the years to come” Earthly Voices the choir he currently directs have been singing an eclectic mix of four part harmony songs for the best part of two decades and enjoys a growing fan base. It welcomes singers of all ages and reading music is optional. A community choir also means lots of pub visits and you don’t need to ask twice to hear them sing. One of the basses doesn’t even require a pint to start him off. Earthly Voices’ Summer Concert will be held on the 7th July, 7.30pm at Cleves School, Oatlands Ave, Weybridge KT13 9TS. The concert will include songs by Cole Porter, The Beatles, Bizet, Verdi, Daft Punk, Billy Joel, The Everly Brothers plus songs from Goalmouth Askew and Avis’s musical, first performed in Malawi. Grants from RC Sheriff Trust and Julia Cripps, recently deceased member of choir to whom this concert is dedicated. For tickers: lmbaldwin53@gmail.com NB: 14th July members of Earthly Voices will also be performing in “No Sound Ever Dies” at Brooklands in Sound, an evening festival of music, poetry and sound at Brooklands Museum. © Nicola Barranger June 2018

MATTERS G A R D E N IN G

HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR GARDEN WHEN ON HOLIDAY Cecelia John: 01372 200 000 Going on holiday is super-fab, but gardens are a big worry. The thought of returning to knee-high grass, puny fruit and dried-out pot plants is enough to put anyone off going away, so here are a few precautions. Watering is the biggest issue. Plants in containers are completely reliant on the water they’re given. When planting up baskets, add water-retaining gel to the compost: this acts as a reservoir and helps keep baskets wetter for longer. Take them off their hooks, putting them in a shady area out of direct sunlight. This applies equally to patio containers. It’s also an idea to group containers together to increase the humidity around them and reduce the amount of water needed. If possible, stand containers in saucers: these will help retain any rainfall, which will be soaked up gradually. Or put a bucket of water next to the containers and use pieces of capillary matting as wicks to transfer water slowly from the bucket to your pots. If you’ve been keeping your garden watered/fed/weedfree, most areas won’t suffer from being abandoned for a while. Most standard lawns cope perfectly well, but mow them just before you leave and as soon as you get back…and don’t worry about watering a lawn – it will survive, however dry it gets. Higher-quality lawns need mowing more often, so ask a friend or a professional contractor to do it for you while you’re away. Many vegetable crops will suffer if short of water. If they can’t all be watered while you’re away, make sure

36 Looklocal Magazine - Summer 2018

|

ros@looklocalmagazine.co.uk supplies are concentrated on those producing pods - eg peas and beans - and fruit, eg tomatoes. Leafy crops, eg lettuce, are also worth keeping well-watered or they may run to seed. Ensure they’re watered thoroughly before you go, and mulch the bare soil between rows/ individual plants with composted manure or straw to help retain water. Some vegetables, particularly runner beans, courgettes and tomatoes, need picking regularly to continue producing new pods/fruits. If you have to leave them unattended, remove all ripening tomatoes and swelling pods from runner beans before you go: to get the best harvests from your fruit, they need to be well-watered while the fruit is swelling. Again, a thorough watering and a thick mulch before you go will work wonders. If weeds are allowed to flower and set seed in beds/ borders, they’ll continue to grow for years to come. Try to clear all weeds before leaving, then cover bare soil between plants with a layer of bark to prevent other weeds from establishing. This will also help moisture retention. Most plants won’t need watering, but avoid planting anything just before you go: the roots of newly-planted plants need to be kept moist until they’ve settled in. If you don’t want to miss your peak flowering display, deadhead repeat-flowering plants before you leave. This will allow new buds to develop while you’re away, ready to come into full bloom when you’re back. And now, go away and relax…..

This guide about backing up our computers was written by Les Beer, from Tecres in Leatherhead, which have been providing computer solutions since 1989. What an exciting few months we have been having, so we thought it would be worthwhile recapping some things that you may have missed: GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) came into force on 25 May 18. Generally speaking the regulation is there to protect you, your data and how companies and organisations handle and protect your data. Something you have the right to do, is to ask any company or organisation holding your data to reveal what information they are holding about you, and ask them if required, to delete some or all of the information. The company or organisation has to do this within 30 days or they are in breach of the GDPR regulation Scam Callers, we have heard of a marked increase in the number of scam callers recently, there appears to be two common approaches, one is that you answer the phone to a recorded message saying something like “This is your telephone provider and we have detected

a broadband fault, to continue press any key on your telephone keypad…” if you do this you will be connected to someone who wants to connect to your computer. The second approach is from a firm purporting to be Microsoft or on Microsoft’s behalf and they identified you have a problem with your computer. In both cases we would encourage you to say you will make your own enquiries, however if you let them connect to your computer, your device may be compromised as the security of your machine could be breached, and you need to check there is nothing malicious installed on your machine. If you have doubts that you may be a victim, please call us as we can ensure your machine is clean Solid Sate Drives - can offer a massive speed upgrade to your machine, and the good news is the cost of these drives has fallen recently, with SSD prices starting from £45.00. LURCHER SOS NEEDS YOU!!

COULD YOU SAVE A LIFE?

Lurcher SOS is a Surrey based Lurcher, Greyhound and Sighthound Rescue started in 2010 by two lifelong lurcher owners Laurie & Ed with a network of supporters, fundraisers and foster homes in Kent, Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey, Essex, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire, but they home their dogs throughout England, Wales and Scotland. Run entirely by volunteers, their mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and home, abused, abandoned and neglected Lurchers, Greyhounds and Sighthounds. Lurcher SOS takes in Sighthounds of all ages; from puppies to oldies. These dogs come to them for various reasons – some are strays, some have been ill treated and some need to find a new home simply because their owners no longer want them. Some of these dogs are so emotionally and physically scarred that they will need long periods in foster homes, learning to trust humans again. All their dogs are placed in warm and loving foster

50 Looklocal Magazine - Summer 2018

homes where they are carefully assessed and, if needed, rehabilitated. They are a non-profit organisation and receive no funding, so rely solely on donations from the public and are always in need of fundraising support to cover the cost of the care of their dogs. They are always actively seeking new foster parents and permanent homes for our rescue dogs. They are in desperate need of foster homes. You will need a garden with secure 6 foot fence, to be home most of the time and children will have to be 10 years old or over. They occasionally have dogs that can be fostered with cats but are desperate for cat free foster homes. For full details on fostering go to: http://www.lurchersos.org.uk/fostering For other ways to get involved go to: www.lurchersos.org www.facebook.com/lurchersos

BUTTON C O L L E C T IO N

These are no ordinary buttons - each has an exciting story to tell! My mother had a button box when I was growing up (actually it was an old Quality Street tin with spare buttons in!) which I would play with for hours. Matching up buttons, putting them into size order, making up stories about them and so on. So imagine my delight to find that two local ladies had written actual stories about buttons. Prepare to relive my childhood! About five years ago Helen, a former graphic designer and now a stay at home mum with four kids and her friend Christina, who has a English degree and a life long love of writing and also a busy mum of two, were walking a muddy dog in West End, Esher feeling a little frustrated with domestic life. By chance Helen, mentioned that she had an idea for a set of children’s books which she wanted to design and illustrate but didn’t feel confident enough to write the stories. Tina was keen to get involved and the two quickly worked together to produce the fledgling versions of their first button stories Beatrix - The Wedding Button and Bertie - The Soldier Button. They worked well together and their creative chemistry was evident from the outset.

52 Looklocal Magazine - Summer 2018

The Button Collection had begun. Their six unapologetically old fashioned short stories are a pleasure to read to very young children. Each story stands alone and features the adventures of a different button; from Bob - The Railway Button’s journey spanning steam to electricity, to the colourful, vibrant world of Billy the Circus Button; each button has an exciting story to tell. They are illustrated in full colour throughout with original watercolours by Helen and the books have a traditional, timeless appeal. Christina writes with a rich vocabulary and uses adjectives and alliteration to bring the stories to life.Encouraged by the enthusiastic response so far, Helen and Christina are keen to craft more stories to add to their button collection soon. The Button Collection books are is available individually at £2.99 each or as a set at £12.99 and make gift. available from The Cobham Bookshop, The Regency Bookshop in Surbiton or online from Amazon or Waterstones. www.thebuttonholepressltd.co.uk

REVIEW SEAT ATECA BY TED MACAULEY

Seat’s first full-blooded crossover, the Ateca, an all rounder of extra-special quality and value for money, goes ever so smoothly to the top of the extremely hotly congested SUV class. And that is not just my opinion. It has been voted a winner at car shows all over the place. No wonder. Versus the solidly established likes of SUV rivals VW, Skoda, Peugeot, Mazda, Nissan, Hyundai, Renault, and KIA, and the rest the Seat brainboxes and designers have thoughtfully and astutely challenged the formidable fray with this surefire seller. Okay, I accept the Ateca shares plenty with the slightly bulkier Tiguan, which hails from its parent Volkswagen Group, but it revels on the same wheelbase as its Seat sibling, the five-door Leon, which makes it a handy familysized package. Seat, allowed to borrow the know-how and the working gear and hardware from VW, have made the fullest use of the facility and have accelerated immediately to the front of the SUV jam reach, height. So, what do you get for your hard-earned? It maybe a firsttime entrant in to the class by Seat, but it feels like they have been reaping rewards for ages with a five-seater that romps untroubled over rough, bottom-of-the-garden territory or lopes along smoother tarmacs to the supermarket where its considerable big and practicable double-floor boot easily swallows up a week’s shopping. Six-footer dad and leggy mum, along with offspring who like to jostle and restlessly spread their presence are no problem at all for the spacious interior with its cushy seats and its compact array of instruments and dials on a clearview panel.

54 Looklocal Magazine - Summer 2018

As for your need for ease of a ride on treks over a good few miles, there is a really massive amount of adjustment available to the seating. Front and back. Also, the steering wheel can be set to ensure that just about any size of waistline may fit snugly and safely to be safely accommodated behind it.The front-wheel drive guides it safely and steadily in to corners with hardly any roll -even if you are the adventurous type who gets a kick out of throwing your transport into the most testing roundabouts. Overall, Seat clearly felt that their offering had to be a winner from the off - and, bless ‘em, they managed to do that with their fully justifiable global reward as “ Best in Its Class” for space, styling, quality and sheer driving enjoyment....the baseline requirement in my opinion. Well...that..and economy. And that’s another top scoring issue. My happy tripper gave me 60-odd miles to the gallon, Cobham to Brighton, for a sunny break, on about two gallons. Woweee!! An optional goodie or two, but not on my model, include fulsome LED-headlights, surround-view cameras and a radar cruiser. At traffic jam tortoise speeds it thinks for you and will accelerate, steer and guide itself and put the brakes on if needs be. So sit back and relax.... It all, I promise, adds up to the reasons why you would want an SUV. SUV? Allow me to give an alternative explanation to its initials...Special Utter Value. The five models, two petrol, three diesel, range from £18,340-£31,260. Specification: my tester mode 1.4SI. 150bhp. Speed 0-62 in 8.5s.Mpg 64.2. Price £23,885.Warranty three years/60,000 miles.

TO NEW YORK CITY! Local author Chris Sullivan and his wife Deborah lived in NY for three months. Deborah was posted there for work purposes and Chris went along to explore the city. ‘The Apple Insider’ is a great read and covers their adventures during this time. Full of Architectural appreciation, and interesting historical tip-bits, coupled with a whole array of fascinating and amusing situations that they finds themselves in along the way! Chris’s writing style is entertaining and easy to read. He provides a lighthearted and very relatable look at this awesome city. Their exploration of the city takes them to a vast selection of land marks; From Brooklyn Bridge, to Ground Zero. Up & Down Manhattan, Grand Central Station, a selection of Irish Bars, The Rockerfellow Centre, Harlem and even to Trump Towers! Chris becomes a ‘wedding entertainer’ at one point and Deborah has a brush with the law …. What a great read, I really enjoyed it !
