27 MUSIC MATTERS 28 THE COBHAM BOOKSHOP
From the Editor Welcome to Look Local in May!
More bank holidays to look forward to this month, I could really get used to these four day weeks, couldn’t you? Coupled with the longer days, it almost feels like I have time on my hands, but not quite! I enjoyed a great evening at Suzanne, the classy dress shop in Cobham High Street, a few weeks back. They showcased their wonderful spring/summer collections, which I must say are stunning! See our coverage inside. We hear from an expanding local business about their opening day when the Mayor of Woking was delighted to officiate. A second shop in nearby Horsell for Claygate fishmongers Williams and Bunkell. This is a wonderful fishmonger who boasts ‘awardwinning smoked salmon’, plus a whole host of other fishy delights. Well worth a visit to one of their branches, I’d say. Find out the facts about our local food bank. Be amazed and hopefully informed and inspired enough to know how you can help. Local celebrity/film star James Cosmo is taking part in a massive charity cycle ride across Zambia, riding from Lusaka to Victoria Falls. What a great adventure and a great way to help so many children too. Read all about his adventure inside this month. As well as all this, you will find all the regular Look Local features, local news, events and what’s on details inside…
Enjoy May, everyone! Until next time, take care,

very enjoyable evening event took place at one of our independent local fashion stores recently. Look Local were kindly invited along to ‘Suzanne’ in Cobham High Street to view their stunning Spring/Summer Collection. The outfits were presented by professional London

models and were truly delightful. They included pieces from a whole host of well-known designer collections: Escada, Armani Collezioni, Moschino, Armani Jeans, Escada Sport, Talbot Runhof, Lamberto Losani and Versace were some on show this evening. The outfits included something suitable for most occasions, with colourful and
elegant options in a whole range of styles. Owner Dee Winch and her staff warmly welcomed regular customers and interested locals with a glass of bubbly to add to the occasion. Dee has owned the shop since 1991 and expanded it in 1997 to achieve the impressive double-fronted shop it is today. All the staff at Suzanne provide excellent one-to-
one service and advice to their customers. The selection of outfits on offer is very impressive. I had no idea that their range was so comprehensive. Why not pop in and take a look for yourself? I’m sure they will be delighted to see you! Susanne is open Monday to Saturday from 9.15am - 5.30pm.

he long-awaited Williams and Bunkell Fishmongers, famous for its smoked salmon, has joined the parade of independent shops in Horsell village near Woking. A grand opening, complete with bubbles, award-winning smoked salmon and a ceremonial cutting of the fish net was held on 10 March, attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Woking. The Mayor of Woking, Cllr Tony Branagan, said: “I feel particularly pleased and proud to open another business in Horsell. We have an excellent butcher, a fruit and veg shop and now a fishmonger’s. It really enhances and makes the place better.” Local residents have been eagerly awaiting the opening of the new fishmongers which, together with the new greengrocer Boz and Ali next door, has brought a much needed revival to the High Street in Horsell. Also based in the quaint Surrey village of Claygate since 1985, Williams and Bunkell Fishmongers already has an excellent reputation in the local area. It is renowned for its great customer service and stunning displays of sustainably-caught fresh fish and shellfish. The shop in Claygate also has a smoker on the premises where salmon, haddock and tuna are smoked. Director of Williams and Bunkell, Matthew Clift,

has been a fishmonger since he was 15. He started as a Saturday boy in Claygate and become a full time member of staff after he finished college. Known to everyone as Matt, his skills as a fishmonger won him the junior craftsmanship at the National Oyster and Seafood Fair when he was only 19. Matt became director in 2009, and since then has taken the business further and further, gaining Elmbridge’s Best Independent Retailer of the Year award in 2013, and a star at the 2014 Great Taste Awards for the salmon which is smoked and hand-sliced at the shop. Matthew says: “It’s great to be able to bring tradition back to a village where local residents love to shop locally, just like in Claygate. I am fortunate to have been made to feel extremely welcome here in Horsell. I’m very ‘old school’ trained, and I believe in gaining trust and respect first and foremost from my customers. I was taught everything I know by the late Brian Bunkell, who was renowned in the trade, and where our name Williams and Bunkell comes from.” Visit www.surreyfishmonger.co.uk to find out more about us, the products that we sell and how to find our shops. hen a cow is calving or a sheep lambing, there is a danger that the uterus (womb) will follow the calf or lamb out of the cow or ewe. It is like taking off a sweater. It comes out inside out and it is a very serious condition. I was calving a cow out in the middle of a marsh with a veterinary student called Amy. It was too wet to get my van further than the gateway, so we carried the equipment we thought we would need. The cow was lying down exhausted on her brisket. She was trying to pass a normal-sized calf but it had its head back. We gave her an epidural anaesthetic to anaesthetise her back end, so although she could no longer feel anything, she could still do some pushing. We managed to get the calf out and were delighted; it was still alive but not very lively. I left Amy rubbing the calf with an old towel after we had
20 Looklocal Magazine - May 2015
cleared the mucus from its nose and mouth. I went to examine the cow to see that she was not torn. Disaster. She was starting to push her womb out. I shouted to Amy to hold the womb in while I ran to the van to get a big ‘Buhner’ stitching needle and some white uterine tape. I pushed the big needle through the anaesthetised vulva and threaded the tape. I then went to put tension on the tape, only to find I had threaded Amy’s blond hair through the needle instead of the tape. She was being drawn to the backside of the cow! All was well in the end, with a cow happily licking its calf without a veterinary student stuck to its backend. Luckily, Amy scrubbed up well and we are still friends. So, if you have problems with a cow calving, please ring Green Counties Vets. You will always get a proper farm vet, not a small animal vet in disguise, & we will try not to leave anyone stitched to your cow.

IB DAB ART CLUB runs baby, preschool art classes and after-school art clubs in Cobham, Oxshott and Esher. Due to great demand, they are just launching a second ‘Baby Messy’ Art class at Sandown Play Café in Esher as part of the BBC Arts Get Creative Campaign. Dib Dab Art Club is joining hundreds of organisations nationwide to become a Get Creative Champion.’This second class, led by Jo Mitchell Long, officially launched on Monday 13th April and is already proving to be very popular. Dib Dab also run an After School class for 4-8 year olds at Sandown, allowing the children to expand on the themes and really hone their artistic talents. The club was founded by Jo, a trained graphic designer and artist, with her good friend Beth Bryant. Their vision was to provide creative, fun and educational art classes for babies to older children (up to age 8 so far!) to fire their imagination and allow them to express themselves. The children get to take home a beautiful piece of work, rather than mounds of soggy paintings and recyclable art. They really develop their creativity,

imagination and self-expression along the way. For the pre-school art classes, Dib Dab have teamed up with Pizza Express to bring you a new concept in kids art classes. Keen to give something more than simply a few stickers and a piece of card, each class is run around a theme and technique geared specifically to the younger age range to not only engage them, but also educate them and develop their love of all things creative. The After School Art Club runs on a Monday afternoon at Sandown Play Cafe, Esher from 4-4.45pm. This class develops creativity and selfconfidence in young children aged 4-8 years. ‘The children gain a huge sense of self-achievement and pride when able to express themselves through art and see their results in the purest form!’ ‘It’s fantastic that Dib Dab can now offer a third class in our Play Café. It expands our offering and allows more children to get creative and express themselves through art and play’ Victoria Morley - Owner, Sandown Play Café. The Dib Dab Mission :
To inspire the next generation to be creative and proud of what they can achieve!
This is a truly lovely local art club & as well as providing a very enjoyable activity for your child, it will also add to your own social calendar too! Please see the Dib Dab advert on the opposite page for more details.

Ever since I can remember, women have recorded some of the best-loved and iconic songs of all time, & nowhere has the female voice made more of an impact than in country music. Long before girls started taking on the guys in the chart parade, women have played a big part in telling their own stories in song, of lovers, loners & losers. It was way back in 1924 in New York City that Aunt Samantha & Eva Davis wrote & recorded the songs known as ‘mountain music’ which influenced, inspired 21:39 & gave the confidence to thousands more ladies to sing their way into our hearts to this very day. A brand new collection of some of the most enduring country hits sung by women is now available on a terrific new compilation of country, entitled The First Ladies of Country. You’ll find classics like ‘Crazy’, the Willie Nelson track made famous by the original spice girl, Patsy Cline, & of course the one & only Dolly Parton is represented here with ‘Jolene’ which Dolly, from her base in Nashville, once told me was inspired by meeting a young red-headed fan of hers. You’ll also hear Tammy Wynette, Lynn Anderson & other gals whose own lives became a bit of a soap opera & added even more of an identity to their massive selling hits. Crystal Gayle, who has the longest hair of anyone I’ve had the pleasure of interviewing, is part of this collection with ‘Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue’,& her sister, Loretta Lynn, who I also had the opportunity to talk to, tells her own true story of ‘Coal Miner’s Daughter’. The music of modern day country is featured on this album too from the likes of Carrie Underwood, & Miranda Lambert to Kelly Clarkson & First Aid Kit. Gee, all this talk of country music is gonna make me change into some cowboy boots, kick back & turn the music up.
Viper Wine by Hermione Eyre, (paperback £8.99) Venetia Stanley is the most renowned beauty in seventeenth-century London. Van Dyck has painted her, Ben Jonson has penned lines to her, and society has made way for her. As Venetia approaches middle age, society’s gaze narrows into scrutiny. Could the mysterious Viper Wine save her face and her reputation? Venetia’s husband, Sir Kenelm Digby, has a mind through which all the genius of the ages flows without borders. He glimpses technology from the future in his alchemical, philosophical explorations. Kenelm does not fear change in Venetia; he loves her. However, his refusal to use his own arts to preserve Venetia’s beauty makes her more determined to seek out Viper Wine by any means necessary and at any cost. This debut novel is bold and energetic, confidently making historical events the crucible for a wider exploration of ideas about the risks and rewards of eternal beauty.
All the Birds, Singing by Evie Wyld, (paperback £8.99) Our female protagonist is Jake Whyte, who lives alone on an unnamed island off the English coast, tending sheep with only a dog, Dog, for company. We first meet her on a sheep station in the Australian outback where she is the only female sheep shearer amongst a whole bunch of ‘blokes’, and one of the best. Jake has a past which slowly reveals itself to us. The chapters from the island progress as a straightforward narrative, while her life in Australia unfolds in reverse, revealing a bullied child, a former teenage streetwalker and an accomplished sheep farmer and sole resident on a forbidding, rainy windswept island. The story is compelling, the structure ambitious and the imagery vivid. An impressive and memorable book.
The King in the North by Max Adams, paperback £9.99 Oswald of Northumbria, after a youth spent in exile, returned to the north to claim his throne through battle and, according to Bede, the blessing of Heaven. Archaeologist and biographer Max Adams creates a vivid picture of 7th century Britain, handling the often contradictory source material with energy, intelligence and wit. In his brief but brilliant career, Oswald won the loyalty of many and became a cult figure after his death, with miracles springing up from the ground where he was slain. Oswald was the inspiration for Tolkien’s Aragorn and for Beowulf, and this book is both a compelling history of Dark Ages Britain and a charismatic portrait of a legendary warrior king.

FIAT
R E V I E W
T E D M AC AU L E Y T E S T D R I V E S T H E N E W F IAT 5 0 0 L O U N G E
We always reckon that the long wait for a bonny new baby is well worthwhile. And if, when it arrives,it is cute and appealing, the joy is unbounded. That was the case with Fiat’s new 500, the re-born iconic babycar, which in its first year reached sales numbers of 222,000 and has just gone on and on and on, hitting 44,005 in the UK alone last year. Global sales now stand at 1.5m and the UK total is 220,000. So, what’s its appeal? Plenty, from style to value for money. The figure for the bargain-buy that enchants is guaranteed to grow even more when Fiat stretches its frontiers farther abroad In celebration of its re-birth, 50 years on from designer Dante Giacosa’s original 50s classic 500, the Italian company threw parties around the world for owners from Japan, Europe and South Africa. I joined in with a loaned pearly white model, encircled about its waistline with the colours of the Italian flag - and it was as at home in Milan’s stop-start streets as it was at 90-plus mph on the motorways and the tight, twisty lanes around Lake Como to Bellagio and the superb Hotel Grand Villa Serbelloni.
And I covered the same ground again the other week in the latest Lounge offering, a re-run of absolute pleassure on the go. My 1.2-litre Lounge model, an £11,315 funky little charmer, nestled cosily alongside the Ferraris and Porsches in the Serbelloni’s lakeside car park with as much eye-catching allure as any of the supercars. Okay, because of its invasive road noise on the motorways, it may not be the transport you would choose to drive top to bottom across Europe, despite its generous mpg, but it sure is just the car you’d like to have when you were at journey’s end. Regular readers will note I have gone from the sublime in the shape of the Maybach to the meticulous. Total opposites they may be, but for punching their weight in their specific categories, they cannot be beaten. Safety in all models of the
500 is superb - all have front, side, curtain and knee airbags which helped it to a re-assuring five-star top rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests. Its retro appeal is enhanced by 14 colour choices, four engine types, three metallic, eight pastel and a selection of seven alloy wheel patterns. Sticker kits, hubcaps and vivid badges mean you can customise the car to your liking, however bizarre your fancy. The four-seater cockpit is legroomier than you would imagine, looking at its diminutive 3.5-metre length from the outside, and the clever clogs Fiat designers have been astute in maximising its minimism. After I’d enjoyed the test car, I was so impressed I bought one, then another which I am currently running in company of, it seems, hundreds of others around Surrey.. And joy of joys to penny pinchers like me, the experts forecast that, after three years, I will get back at least half of what I paid for it. What more could you ask? Specification: Lounge three door 1.2-litre. BHP 69. Top speed 99mph. 0-62 in 12.9s. Fuel 58mpg. Price £11,315.
WINDOWS10 LATER THIS YEAR, THE MUCH-HERALDED WINDOWS 10 WILL BE RELEASED
Amongst its features will be the return of the start button, with some integration of the tiles or metro interface seen on Windows 8, but to a lesser extent. Internet Explorer will also be replaced by an all new browser, yet to be officially named. Microsoft will be offering a free-of-charge upgrade to Windows 7 and 8 users and an amnesty to users of non-genuine Windows too for the first year; however, after the first year, it is highly likely that Microsoft will charge annually for the operating system, deviating completely from their previous business model of charging once for the operating system and then providing free-of-charge updates for the product during its life cycle. If you are looking to purchase a new machine but don’t fancy the prospect of having to pay annually for the software, we still have a healthy selection of both Windows 7 and Windows 8 laptops and desktops.
NEW SCAMS
We have been alerted of some new scams which we would like to share with you. 1: The usual - ‘this is Microsoft calling and you have a problem with your machine, please can we connect to it and show you….’ has developed. We have heard of a customer who fell victim to this and started to become suspicious, so asked the scammers to stop, at which point they deleted all the user’s data on his PC. Just remember, Microsoft would not telephone you. 2: Email scam - this has been reported from both AOL and BT/Yahoo email customers, & indicates that their emails are not secure. The user receives an expected email with an invoice attached from a known tradesperson - let’s say their plumber. Shortly after, the user receives another email from supposedly the plumber, saying something like ‘please ignore the previous mail, use this one’. On inspection, the attachment is present, but the banking details on the invoice have been changed to the scammers’ account. The only way this could have happened is if the scammer is actually monitoring & using the user’s email account. If you are concerned this is happening to you, our advice is to change your email password two or three times in a week. In both cases, Action Fraud should have been informed. Should you like further information on these issues, or discuss your own security please do not hesitate to contact us or Action Fraud. Action Fraud can be contacted on 0300 123 2040 or www.actionfraud.police.uk

nd so at last to suffixes. Ah yes, I’ve been keeping you hanging on, I know you were all waiting for this, although there may be a little unavoidable overlap with previous articles, so please forgive me if you recognise something you’ve read before. It’s kind of inevitable at times with prefixes and suffixes in plant names, as they often come as a couple. Anyway…
As I’m sure you know, suffixes are similar to prefixes in that they are combined with other words, but they’re added to the end instead of the beginning. Maybe not as easy to work out, but as you get familiar with botanical names, the frequency with which suffixes crop up will enable you to identify them. And sometimes they’re simply combined with prefixes, as in macrorrhizus, where macro means ‘large’ and -rrhizus means ‘rooted’. In other cases, a suffix is attached to a noun, as in the combo of rupes, meaning ‘rocks’ and -estris, meaning ‘place of growth’, giving us rupestris or ‘growing in rocky places’, such as Potentilla rupestris, the rock cinquefoil, and Carex rupestris, the rock sedge. Silva, meaning ‘wood/ forest’, combined with -estris, gives sylvestris, meaning ‘of the forest’, as seen in many plants/trees, including Pinus sylvestris, the pine, Nicotiana sylvestris, the woodland tobacco plant, and Malva sylvestris, the woodland mallow. Some of the most frequently occurring nouns are those to which the suffix -ensis is attached, meaning ‘of/ from a place’: for example, chinensis (from China) and californiensis (self-evident). We also have stevenagensis (which always makes me smile), as in Gentiana x stevenagensis, a beautiful dark blue gentian which originated in …..yes, Stevenage.
But most frequent of all are the suffixes which describe the main parts of a plant, and they are almost always preceded by some sort of qualifier. So, we have -phyllus (‘leaved’), combined with tri- to give triphyllus, a 3-leaved plant, as in Penstemon triphyllus; macropetala to describe a plant with large or long petals, such as Clematis macropetala; rubrifolia to give the hint that it has red leaves, as in Rosa rubrifolia; densiflorus to explain that it is densely-flowered, as in Lithocarpus densiflorus. There are many others: -anthus, meaning ‘flowered’, recognisable in polyanthus or ‘many-flowered’; -stemon (‘stamened’); -ferum/fera (‘bearing’, as seen in the English ‘conifer’ but also in Sparaxis bulbifera, a bulb-bearing perennial); -issimus (‘very’, as in Echinops spinosissimus, the very prickly echinops!); -ellus, which adds a diminutive quality to the description, so ruber means ‘red’, but rubellus means ‘somewhat red/reddish’ (see Mimulus rubellus); -escens (‘becoming’, as in the grass cultivar Ophiopogon planiscapus ‘Nigrescens’, whose leaves start green and then turn black); and finally, obvious ones, such as -color, -formis and -stylus. Ok, that’s quite enough from me for now, Latin scattered all over the place. I hope it will help a little when faced with a plant whose attributes you are unsure of. Back soon…..

The 7 Ages of Tax Planning - No 1. Childhood Children are not just expensive; they can also offer opportunities for tax planning! Tax allowances Many people do not realise that children, just like adults, have their own personal tax allowances. This is probably because most of the allowances go unused – and it is fair to say that they go unused, at least in part, because many people are unaware of them! Any child can have income of up to £10,000 in 2014-15 without paying income tax. Compared to a parent taxed at 20% this is worth £2,000 a year, or £4,000 if the parent is taxed at 40%, or even £4,500 for parents taxed at 45%. Over eighteen years, even at 20%, this is worth £36,000. It is not possible for a parent simply to give a child income by transferring assets to the child – such income remains the parent’s for tax purposes while the child is a minor. However, transfers of assets by someone else, for example a grandparent, will produce income that does belong to the child. The rules only disallow gifts from a living parent – therefore setting up a trust fund for your children in your will can help to add to the family’s net income after death.

Pension contributions Probably even fewer people realise that children can make pension contributions, even if they have no earnings. Anyone can pay up to a total of £2,880 into a personal pension for a child. Tax relief is added so the pension fund becomes £3,600. Of course, the child cannot get the money until at least age 55, but some may see this as an advantage building a ‘nest-egg’ for a child’s eventual retirement. If £2,880 is paid in each year for eighteen years it will have cost £51,840. If the fund were to grow at 3% a year after charges, it could be worth over £200,000 when the child reaches the age of 55. If contributions are paid every year, there can also be inheritance tax savings as well. Junior ISA For 2015-16 onwards, all children under eighteen can have a Junior ISA. Up to £4,000 can be paid in each year and it works like an adult ISA with no income tax payable on any income. The funds cannot be taken out until the child is eighteen when they then have full access to them. This is one way a parent can transfer money to a child without the income still being treated as the parent’s. Again, if contributions are paid every year, there can also be inheritance tax savings as well. Of course, any of these steps have to be done correctly to ensure they have the desired tax advantages.

urrey resident and internationally acclaimed actor James Cosmo, star of Braveheart, Narnia and Game of Thrones, has joined up with local charity Street Child Africa to cycle across Zambia this September 2015. Cosmo who plays tough, resilient characters onscreen is now taking on a real-life challenge to change the lives of children who struggle to survive on the streets every day. Cosmo is raising essential funds for a local charity that supports vulnerable street children in Zambia by providing safe shelters, access to first aid, education, training and supporting families & communities. Street Child Africa is offering an exclusive opportunity to fellow local people to ride alongside celebrity James Cosmo, before offering places to the wider public. Will you consider swapping your day-to-day reality to ride alongside a fellow local and celebrity on the streets of Zambia this September? We really hope that, like James Cosmo, you will come onboard with this exciting challenge to support street children. Cosmo explains “Being involved in this bike ride for street children is a real life challenge for me. I’ve not cycled since I was a lad, so it’s going to be tough. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t be doing it. The courage these children show, out on the streets fending for themselves alone is incredible. That’s why Street Child Africa’s work is so
important. Let’s give these kids a chance”. Sheila Lutchanah, Head of Fundraising at Street Child Africa, commented: “We’ve had a lot of fun organising this cycle challenge. To be able to take our supporters on such an adventure in one of the countries where we work with street children is fantastic. Having the backing of James Cosmo and our local supporters will greatly benefit the lives of the children we work with on the streets.” Will you join James Cosmo in this challenge? Cosmo himself has faced many challenges in his life. He remembers the days of struggling in a one bedroom flat with his wife Annie and baby. Then he received his big break - a call from actor Mel Gibson, asking him to play Campbell with him in the film Braveheart. By taking part in this sponsored challenge, supporters are showing the world that we all have challenges in our lives but that they can be overcome. Cycle Zambia takes you on- and off-road through rural southern Zambia, finishing at the spectacular Victoria Falls. Organised through Discover Adventure, the challenge starts on Friday 25th September and finishes Saturday 3rd October 2015. To take up this exclusive opportunity to join Cycle Zambia and change a street child’s life, email Zoe or call 020 8972 9820 by 10th April. https://www.justgiving.com/jamescosmo/

LOCAL WOMAN
LAUNCHES FIRST NSPCC
FUNDRAISING GROUP IN ELMBRIDGE
E
lmbridge mum, Vicci Joyce, has launched the first NSPCC volunteer fundraising group in the borough under the name of Friends of the NSPCC Elmbridge (FONE). Vicci’s aim is to raise £30,000 during 2015 for the NSPCC’s Childline School Services campaign, with the very able support of a committee of nine female friends who also live locally. The funds raised will be used to train and support volunteers who visit primary schools to teach 9 to 11 year olds how to recognise and deal with abuse in all its guises. NSPCC statistics show that it is this age group that is most likely to call Childline. “After working with CHASE Children’s Hospital Dittons Group for many years, I was spurred on to look for a new charity to support and was very surprised to discover that the NSPCC had no representation in Elmbridge,” says Vicci Joyce. “Our fundraising group can play a really important role in helping the NSPCC to deliver its vital services to the community. We are hugely committed to reaching our ambitious target and supporting the Childline School
58 Looklocal Magazine - May 2015
Services campaign to educate children about this service in a school environment both locally and nationally.” FONE’s main fundraiser is a spectacular May Ball called ‘Dancing on the Downs’ at Epsom Racecourse on Sunday 3 May 2015, the Bank Holiday weekend. Rupa Dey, NSPCC Head of Community Fundraising South East, says: “We are very grateful to Vicci and her team for taking on such a major fundraising commitment in their own time. They have set themselves a huge target and a contribution like this will help in our fight for every child in the UK that needs our support. Childline receives over 1.4 million contacts a year and we are unable to deal with them all, so groups like FONE can make a big difference by helping to increase the services we can offer, such as the Schools Services campaign.” FONE is looking for more members to help in their fundraising and would particularly appreciate the input of anyone with good social media skills. For more information about FONE or if you would like to buy tickets or contribute auction prizes, please contact Vicci Joyce at vicci.joyce@gmail.com.

Plant Swap and Sale
making Cobham, healthier, happier and more resilient
After our clothes swap in 2013 and entertainment swap in 2014, we’re organising a Plant Swap and Sale for 2015. As you may know, we’ve been working on a community garden for some time and hope to launch it this year. Hence the plant theme!
On Saturday the 30th of May at 2.30pm, come along to the Cobham Village Hall for the swap. Just bring any unwanted plants (ornamental, vegetables, herbs, house plants, fruit) and swap them for others or buy new plants. We’ll sort the plants and then open the swap and sale at 3pm. The entrance fee of £2 (free for under 12s) includes a tea/coffee and one plant. Please remember to label your plants with the variety, colour and size if it’s an ornamental plant. We hope to see you there!
If you’d like to join us, visit www.transitioncobham.org.uk for more information. search for Transition Cobham
