In Lesson 4, we have learnt how to define a Page Layout, set up Labels and page background. In Lesson 5, we will be learning about other aspects of page Management like Adding, Renaming and Deleting Pages. ________________________________________________________________

Introduction

Page management means arranging and organizing the pages in a better way to present the work done on them in a best possible manner. When you make projects page managements is of great help and of course represents the art of the person producing a piece of work. Corel page management menu encompasses the following activities, which we will be dealing with in the following lesson:• • • • • •

Insert Page

Choose Layout, Insert Page to open Page window. Enter the number of pages you to add and the position in the document for the pages. You can also specify page size and orientation for the new pages. Delete Page

Choose Layout, Delete Page from the Main Menu to open the Delete Page window. Specify single or multiple pages to delete. You can also delete a single page by right clicking the page tab for the page you wish to delete. Choose Delete Page from the pop-up menu.

Name or Rename Page

Choose Layout, Rename Page from the Main Menu. Type in the name you wish for the page. The CorelDraw default page names are the page number, i.e., Page 1, Page 2, etc. Rename Page allows you to enter your own names for pages, which can help organize your work when you are working with multiple pages. You can also rename a page by right clicking on the page tab at the bottom of the screen and choosing Rename Page.

Single Page Orientation

Choose Layout, Switch Page Orientation to change the orientation of the current page. This change will apply only to the current page, and will not affect the rest of the document. You can also change page orientation by right clicking on the page tab at the bottom of the screen and choosing Switch Page Orientation.

Exercises

Open Corel Draw. Open New Graphics. A default Page is displayed. a. To add a page 1. Click Layout Insert page. 2. Type the number of pages you want to add in the Insert pages box. 3. Enable one of the following options: • Before • After If you want to insert before or after a page other than the current page, type the page number in the Page box. Tips: You can also add pages by clicking the Add page button on the Document window, if you're on the first or last page. You can also choose where to add a page by right-clicking a page tab in the Document window, and clicking Insert page after or Insert page before. b. To rename a page 1. Click Layout Rename page. 2. Type the name of the page in the Page name box. c. To delete a page 1. Click Layout Delete page. 2. In the Delete page dialog box, type the number of the page you want to delete. Tip:

You can delete a range of pages by enabling the Through to page check box and typing the number of the last page to delete in the Through to page box.

d. To change the order of pages 1. Click View Page sorter view. 2. Drag a page to its new location.

Right-click, and drag the page to its new location, and choose Copy here from the list box. Hold down Command, and drag the page to its new location. Double-click a page.

Tip:

You can also change the order of pages by dragging the page tabs on the Document Navigator at the bottom of the drawing window.

5.7.1 Class assignments i) Draw different shapes on separate Corel pages and name the pages by the shape drawn on it, then insert more pages in between which are named according to the objects of those shapes drawn on them. 5.7.2 Home assignments i) Write the advantages of page management window of Corel Draw in your own words.
