PLANTING SEEDS FOR A BRIGHTER TOMORROW:

A Journey Through Community Service and Tabling

As the year draws to a close, reflecting on the past few months fills me with immense gratitude and inspiration. I have had the privilege to travel extensively and visit numerous associations, witnessing firsthand the incredible work done by clubs and Tablers around the globe. Their efforts in community service have left an indelible mark on the world and the lives of future generations.

From bustling cities to quiet towns, I have seen hundreds of transformative projects in action. These initiatives aren’t just acts of kindness—they’re shaping the very fabric of our association, our planet, and the future. Standing shoulder to shoulder with Tablers, I have "tasted and breathed" the energy they channel into helping those in need. This isn’t just service; it’s a movement, a force for good that radiates hope and positivity.

The Impact of Tabling

One of the most touching experiences was seeing children walking into schools built by Tablers. Their smiles, full of hope and promise, are unforgettable. I’ll always remember the heartfelt gratitude of people receiving food donations, their words resonating with appreciation. And the sound of children’s laughter as they unwrapped Christmas gifts—those moments are etched in my heart forever.

Through these encounters, I realized something profound: we’re not just addressing immediate needs. We’re paving the way for a better life, fostering opportunities that extend far beyond today. Our community service projects are planting seeds that will grow into the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and changemakers. Among those we help today might be future Tablers, doctors, lawyers, or visionaries who will continue to change the world.

Building a Sustainable Future

But the impact doesn’t stop there. Tablers are also taking on challenges like pollution and waste reduction, contributing to a sustainable planet for generations to come. By preserving the wonders of our Earth, we’re ensuring future generations can marvel at its beauty.

It’s a circle of life—a remarkable chain reaction where each effort sparks another. Our projects give people the chance to thrive, to become the roots of flourishing communities. These roots grow into trees that bear fruit, and from those fruits, new seeds are planted. This endless cycle embodies the spirit of Tabling: adopt, adapt, and improve.

A Season of Gratitude and Hope

As we step into the festive season, let’s celebrate the power of unity and service. The holidays remind us of the joy in giving and the beauty in sharing moments with those around us. Let’s carry this spirit into the new year, continuing to plant seeds of hope and nurture the growth of a brighter future.

On behalf of the Round Table International family, I wish you and your loved ones a season filled with laughter, warmth, and togetherness. May 2025 be a year of new beginnings, impactful projects, and enduring connections.

Yours in international Tabling,

ONE TEAM, ONE DREAM

Building Momentum, Dreams Being Realised

The “One Team, One Dream” initiative is proving that synergy and collaboration can transform ideas into impactful outcomes. Week by week, the team’s efforts are gaining momentum, producing work that not only strengthens Round Table International (RTI) but also inspires Associations worldwide. Here’s a look at some key highlights of their work so far:

Crafting a Unified Brand Style

The PRO team—Stephan (RT Germany), Alistair (RT Belgium), and Andrew (RT Seychelles)—is redefining how we present ourselves to the world. By developing a cohesive brand style, they’re ensuring our social media content is uniform, professional, and adaptable for local Associations.

Whether it’s updating Association rondels or designing logos for upcoming projects, their creativity is laying the groundwork for consistent, engaging communications. Associations are encouraged to leverage these resources, tapping into the expertise of this talented team to elevate their own efforts.

Inspiration from India: A Reconnaissance Trip with Impact

The trip also included attending Round Table India’s National Annual General Meeting—a spectacular event that was both the largest and most impressive AGM I’ve ever experienced. The scale and energy of this gathering were a testament to the strength of the Association and its members.

Moreover, the venues selected for the upcoming RTI World Meeting, organized by the RTI WM convening team, were equally impressive. The preparation and passion on display give me great confidence that the World Meeting in September will be an extraordinary experience.

A special moment during the AGM was seeing our very own Tr. Pulkit Jindal (RT India) honored as Tabler of the Year—an incredible accolade, especially in an Association with over 5,000 members. Pulkit’s dedication extends beyond his local Association; as Legacy Editor, he brings immense talent to the international stage. It’s a privilege to have him contributing to our shared mission.

Exciting Projects on the Horizon

The “One Team, One Dream” board is currently working on several groundbreaking projects set to redefine our organization’s future. While details are under wraps for now, there will be a sneak peek during the Councillor’s Meeting this January and a full unveiling at the RTI Half Yearly Meeting in Paphos (RT Cyprus) this March.

These initiatives are designed to spark stronger growth and collaboration within RTI, and I can’t wait to share this work with you, but I only want to do so in person to see your reactions—so make sure to join us at these meetings!

Yours in international Tabling,

Christopher Mintoff

Administrative Report of the First Quarter CAROUSEL OF DIVERSITY

International

Occasionally, people tend to realize that time has moved so fast since a milestone that it feels like the experience was just around the corner. On the other hand, there are moments when the opposite can be stated. Yes, for the RTI Board, the first three months since Maastricht have felt like ages. It has been a time of adapting, learning, taking accountability and keeping the cool even during somewhat stressful times.

Freedom of Speech

Along the numerous RTI Board online meetings, the first quarter of the 2024-2025 year has been a time to embrace the freedom of speech and equality among Tablers, which is one of the core values of Round Table. Besides responding to simple inquiries, the Board has received and replied to a total of 18 formal letters from Associations and individual Tablers. It has given an opportunity for freshly elected Board to communicate naturally with the Floor and get to know the Councillors through their thoughts and feelings about Round Table in general.

The Meetings

The main way for RTI Board to step forward is to have regular meetings and discuss the pending tasks and long-term plans. To keep the topics filtered, the RTI Board organizes separate meetings with Regional Chairmen and Board Assistants, though to be fair the meetings are always open to all RTI Board members. So, keeping that in mind, we report that since the beginning of the Round Table year 2024-2025 the Board has held total of 11 meetings, including:

Use of RTI Rulebook and Guidelines

Following the World Meeting in Maastricht, all revised Guidelines and the RTI Rulebook have been uploaded to RT International Documents folder, which is accessible to every Tabler who uses Tabler.World. To minimize the risk of miscommunication, it is always advised to download the up-to-date RTI Rulebook and Guidelines from mentioned source.

Conclusion: Positive Approach is the Key

Although the Tabling year has just begun, for RTI Board it has been a time of challenges, learning, and pushing its limits. We have been keen to use the positive attitude towards any bump on the road, seeing them as opportunities to grow and appreciate the diversity within Round Table.

Dear Tablers, wishing you all the best for the upcoming year. Be eager to step outside your comfort zone from time to time and ignite the flame of the Tabling spirit. In the end, you will find greater satisfaction if you have given that little extra for Tabling.

Yours in international Tabling, Krister Vellet

AMI REGIONAL REPORT

Louis Radley, Regional Chairman 2024-2025

The first 3 months of the term started with a bang with the AMI Associations serving their communities and making in a difference in the lives of the less fortunate.

Some of the projects that stood out was the Movember campaign of RT Southern Africa, RT Zimbabwe had their annual “Jail & Bail”, The Pretoria Collective had their 51st production of Round Table Theatre and RT158 Bloemfontein was able to partner with OFM radio station to raise more than R110’000 (€5’500) for Christmas project.

I was privileged to have travelled to Gaborone and attend the RT Botswana HYM. This was my first trip to Botswana and not my last. 2 tablers of RT Zimbabwe and an RTSA tabler also attended the meeting. 3 associations were able to exchange ideas, learn from each other, and have time to make new friends and enjoy fellowship. During the HYM, we could do the first presentation of an AMI membership plan. RT Botswana’s plans for the future are very exciting, and they are going to make a substantial difference in their communities.

Our plan as a region for the year includes the following:

Creating a stronger bond and building on the current relation

ships between the Associations within the region.

Developing a membership plan that will increase our members.

The Associations to operate more as a collective and be able to learn from each other and share good practices.

Improve our PRO and social media presence.

Updating the constitutions and meeting procedures.

So far, we have had an increase of 23% on our Facebook page, which has substantially increased our social media presence, and we have followed a new approach of posting more content related to our region and the projects done by different tables within the region.

The membership plan has been finalized, and the first presentation has been done, with other presentations to take place in the new year. We are busy with having more AMI regalia to build on the AMI presence plan to have an AMI section at Nations Night in Cyprus at the RTI HYM. This will have the tablers bond more and build on the current relationships between the Associations.

Let me sign off with the following: AMI might be smaller in numbers, but we are big in charity and serving the community.

CEE REGIONAL REPORT

Adam Fitt, Regional Chairman 2024-2025

The CEE region has been steadily moving along for the first quarter of our year with lots of work behind the scenes so far. We have completed our membership analysis with our councilors which is initially showing very positive early results. There are still challenges within the region, but we have identified them and are working to put plans in place to address these. A big thank you Bram Rozestraten for his assistance in the membership swot analysis

We have also been engaging in membership growth ideas and how we can support our associations, how they can support us and how we can all work together for the better. This will be formulated into a larger document over the next few months after further work with the associations and the other RC’s. I am excited to see where this can go and I must thank RTBI and RT Netherlands for their work in inspiring this project through their own membership initiatives.

CEE Forwarding Wealth Project

I am excited to share that the CEE Region will soon have it’s own CSO Project. My CSO Florian Wagner has been working on this, and we will be announcing the first steps at our Region Councillor’s Meeting on 11 January. This project will enable the CEE Region to contribute to community projects within Round Table around the world.

CEETM Moldova

The guys in Moldova have been hard at work putting together a fantastic event for us and at the time of writing we have sold nearly 100 tickets for this event. Please get booked in and support us on what will be a fantastic event of fun and fellowship.

Christmas 2024

At the time of writing many of our associations have been busy in their communities and across the region. Christmas is probably the busiest time for the CEE Region with

multiple associations involved in various projects. A big congratulations to Austria, Germany, Romania and Moldova who have been active in their respective Christmas Convoys. These projects are an amazing example of cross association collaboration. The convoys also extend into the SEM Region with Bulgaria also involved. I had the privilege to visit RT Bielefeld and help pack up some of the trucks and see this operation in progress. I must say it is very impressive, and I will definitely be back in future.

RTBI have also been busy with their local Santa sleighs across the country, I have been out on a few myself with my local club. These sleighs bring so much joy to the local communities of RTBI and are always great fun to do, even if the weather is unforgiving sometimes!

CEE Under 30’s Community

Since the World Meeting in Maastricht, the CEE Region has set up an under 30’s community and is being led by Robin Cox. We identified this opportunity before the World Meeting as an opportunity to give our younger members their own space to share and develop ideas, share their own stories and travels and their Round Table journey. We hope this will become a platform to develop the future leaders of our associations as after all, these guys are the future of Round Table. I really look forward to seeing how this develops over the next few months in 2025.

From the Chairman

I just want to say thank you to everyone in the region for a great Q1. The region is healthy, and we have a lot of exciting things to look forward to in 2025.

Also, a big thank you to my Ladies Circle counterpart Barbara for being an absolute rock so far this year. We have some exciting side by side plans for 2025 and we cannot wait to share them with you.

To all my region members, have a great Christmas and New Year with your families, enjoy your downtime and enjoy some beverages. See you all in 2025.

ASPA REGIONAL REPORT

Rahul Agrawal, Regional Chairman 2024-2025

The ASPA region has had an energetic and impactful start to the year, with its associations diving headfirst into activities that emphasize service, fellowship, and growth. Known for its dedication to education and community upliftment, the region has a lot to showcase from the first quarter. Here’s a look at the highlights, association by association.

NEA REGIONAL REPORT

Daniel Sigurour , Regional Chairman 2024-2025

Since the World Meeting in Maastricht the NEA region has been quite busy. In the middle of October around 140 tablers gathered in Northern Iceland for a fun weekend of tabling but also serious workshops, discussions and of course it’s annual general meeting at the NEAR Tablers Meeting. It’s quite clear from all the workshops, meetings and discussions in the past months that the national boards and officers are passionate about their work to promote further tabling both within their borders but also internationally.

During much of the quarter, the larger associations spent time conducting area meetings. In our regional meetings we talked about the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats within the region and although spirits are high, and tabling is becoming stronger there are real threats that need to be addressed. A good amount of time has been spent getting in touch with the smaller associations of the region and digging down into how we can best support them. This has both been a topic for the chairman but also at the World Meeting an initiative was launched which paired larger associations with smaller associations. This work has been very giving and in the next quarter we will put some plans in motion to reach out to more members and improve their international corporation.

Expansion in the Americas

One of the most joyful events of the quarter is that we chartered a new association in Guyana with its first club RT-1 Georgetown. A group of very open and passionate guys, who clearly had the tabling spirit at heart, had been meeting regularly for quite some time and were ready for the next chapter. So in line with the guidelines a charter date was planned for November 30th. So in the sunny climate the mother association Round Table Suriname with great support from Round

Table Trinidad & Tobago a true tabling event was held in Guyana. So let’s welcome our newest association and tablers to our group. RAs for further expansion in the Americas region, some steps are being taken in Mexico and Brazil to build up tables in these countries. The Mexico project is driven largely by the RTI E-club and Brazil currently is much in the planning phase. In the USA there are opportunities within and around New York which RT-1 New York is pursuing. We are excited to see what the upcoming months will look like.

NEAR meeting 2025 in Suriname

In 2025 the region will meet up in Suriname, which will bring the NEAR meeting finally to South America. Hosted in the middle of October the guys there have created a worth visiting event of tabling, fellowship and workshops for both delegates and non-delegates. If you are starting to plan any trips next year, I would strongly recommend adding the NEAR meeting in Suriname to your travel plans and make the journey. More details on http://www.neartm2025.com

SEM REGIONAL REPORT

Thomas Spicher, Regional Chairman 2024-2025

The new year started on time as planned. Trying something new, the delegates of the SEM region meet online every two weeks (surprisingly punctually!) to exchange ideas and discuss current issues in the region. The first two months were still characterized by the debriefing of the RTI WM and feedback on it. To summarize, here are some, unfortunately not all, highlights from the region.

SEM Social Project 2024 - 25

After much discussion and consultation, the SEM region has decided to support RT Italy's social project this year. The aim is to bring donated medical supplies to Senegal. The project is still in its early stages, but detailed information should be available by the end of the year and the project will start in spring. Collaboration with RT Senegal is currently being discussed. In order to raise further funds for the project, the SEM region, with the help of the International Shopkeeper, will present a number of products, 100% of the profits from which will flow into the project. A big thank you to our shopkeeper for his support.

Round Table Bulgaria

At the moment our brothers in Bulgaria are full of motivation to prepare the SEM meeting next June. Reservations have been made, and the venue and program are set. Some fine-tuning is still being done, and the launch of the registration should be online at the beginning of the year.

Round Table Cyprus

The AGM of the RT Cyprus took place in October. Welcome to the new and old delegates. Another important decision was made: the next AGM 2025, will take place in the AGM season, in the middle of July.

Round Table France

RT France participated very actively in the

Movember movement and was able to collect 7,000 euros. It is incredible what has been done in one month. A big thank you to all the tablers in France for their hard work. And also to all those who helped to make such a big impact with the Movember movement.

Round Table Israel

After many years of absence, the brothers from Israel are back on the international stage. The group is still small at the moment, but the first contacts have been made, and we are working to ensure that we have contacts in Israel again who are involved in international Tablers' lives.

Round Table Malta

The AGM also took place in Malta in October and was a complete success. Many international Tablers found their way to the idyllic island to ring in another year of a very active association. Welcome to the new and old delegates!

Round Table Tunisia

The AGM in Tunisia also took place in October and was also a complete success. A total of 11 different nations were present. It shows once again that even a small association can have a very big impact. In January, the Sahara Tour takes place, as has been a tradition for years. Once again, many international guests are expected for days full of adventure and fun.

Round Table Switzerland

The Club41 International HYM took place in Bern this year. All Family Members were also there at the same time. This included RT Switzerland, which held its HYM. Thanks to the excellent and precise organization by Club41, RT and LC, the event was a complete success. Everything was ALWAYS on time.

The first three months of the year are already behind us, and it is wonderful to see what has been achieved. I am looking forward to the coming months and especially to the RTI HYM in sunny Cyprus. I hope to see as many of you there as possible!

FITNESS TRENDS WATCH IN 2025:

A Global Perspective

As we approach 2025, it’s time to explore the key fitness trends shaping our lifestyles and health. These modern approaches, combining performance and well-being, present new opportunities to improve our daily lives and inspire our communities.

Hyrox: The Ultimate Mix of Endurance and Strength

Hyrox has emerged as a must-try discipline, blending running with functional exercises in a competitive format. This universal sport, accessible to all fitness levels, consists of 8 kilometers of running interspersed with challenging physical tasks such as burpees and sled pushes.

More than just a fitness challenge, Hyrox embodies a spirit of perseverance and camaraderie. Participating in such an event, whether individually or as a team, offers a great way to strengthen bonds within our association while prioritizing our health.

Iron Body Fit: A Cutting-Edge Approach to Fitness

For those seeking efficiency and innovation, Iron Body Fit studios are a game-changer in 2025. These studios focus on EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation) training, an advanced method that uses electrical impulses to stimulate muscles during short, focused workouts.

Why try Iron Body Fit?

1

2

Time Efficiency:

A single 20-minute session is equivalent to hours of traditional gym workouts, making it ideal for busy schedules.

Full-Body Training:

EMS targets multiple muscle groups simultaneously, improving strength, endurance, and toning in less time.

Low Impact: 3

It’s gentle on joints and accessible to people of all fitness levels, from beginners to seasoned athletes.

Customizable Workouts: 4

Each session can be tailored to individual goals, from muscle building to rehabilitation.

Iron Body Fit studios represent the future of fitness, offering a scientifically backed, efficient way to stay in shape while balancing the demands of modern life.

Setting Goals: Running and More

Running remains a cornerstone of fitness due to its accessibility and numerous benefits. In 2025, runners are focusing on measurable goals, such as completing a 10K or a half marathon, to stay motivated. These objectives not only improve physical health but also foster mental resilience and discipline, offering a structured path for personal growth.

More than just a fitness challenge, Hyrox embodies a spirit of perseverance and camaraderie. Participating in such an event, whether individually or as a team, offers a great way to strengthen bonds within our association while prioritizing our health.

Other activities are also gaining traction, including: Pilates, a growing trend in 2025, which enhances core strength, posture, and overall body control. It is particularly valued for its ability to build strength without adding bulk and is suitable for people of all fitness levels.

1

2

3

Mobility training, essential for enhancing range of motion and preventing injuries.

Cycling, whether for daily commutes or leisure rides, which combines fitness with sustainability.

Small Steps, Big Changes

The transition into a new year is a perfect opportunity to make decisions that transform our lives. Whether it’s signing up for a race, starting a Pilates routine, trying a session at Iron Body Fit, or simply adopting small habits like taking the stairs instead of the elevator or biking to work, every step counts.

These small actions, when combined over time, lead to significant results. By choosing today to prioritize your health, you are giving a precious gift to your future self.

A Global Call to Action

As Tablers, we have the power to inspire those around us. Let’s set an example in 2025 by committing to our health and encouraging others to do the same. Whether it’s participating in a fitness event, organizing a local cycling tour, or starting a wellness initiative in your community, every effort contributes to building a healthier, stronger global community.

Together, let’s embrace 2025 as a year of vitality, solidarity, and self-improvement.

ROUND TABLE

GERMANY’S SECRET SANTA

A Big Success with Room to Grow!

What do pins, pennants, shot glasses, T-shirts, and a “Merry Christmas” silk underwear have in common? They all found their way into the packages of the first-ever Devotionalia Secret Santa organized by Round Table Germany!

One standout example was the custom 3D-printed logos sent from Wacken and Memmingen, a creative gesture that left a lasting impression. And the newly chartered table in Dinkelsbühl joined in with a heartwarming package: since they currently only have two pins, they included a bottle of wine and a heartfelt Christmas greeting. It’s not the size of the gift that matters—it’s the joy it brings to both the giver and the recipient.

Many packages contained mementos from past events, while others cleverly doubled as promotions for upcoming ones. This mix of nostalgia and forward-thinking perfectly captured the spirit of Round Table.

We allocated packages randomly—well, almost. Anyone who indicated they were sending clothing was matched with a recipient of the same size to ensure the right fit. And even when a small hiccup occurred (like someone being matched to send a package to themselves), we were able to resolve it quickly and smoothly.

This initiative wasn’t just limited to Germany. We were thrilled to see a Tabler from Austria join in this year, proving that this idea has the potential to grow beyond borders. With such positive feedback and plenty of creative energy, we’re already thinking about expanding the concept internationally next year. Imagine devotional items flying across countries, showcasing the incredible variety and traditions of Round Table worldwide.

We hope everyone who participated had a great time, whether they received a large package or just a small token of appreciation. After all, the goal was to spread some holiday cheer and strengthen the bonds within our community

The Devotionalia Secret Santa was a fantastic start, and we’re excited to make it even bigger in the future. If you weren’t part of it this year, don’t worry—you’ll have another chance to join in next year. Stay tuned, get inspired, and let’s make the next round even more special!

CHRISTMAS GIFT CONVOY A Global Perspective

Bringing Joy and Hope Across Borders: The Christmas Gift Convoy 2024

Picture this: a child in a remote village of Eastern Europe, carefully unwrapping a gift and lighting up with pure joy. For some of these children, it’s their first very own Christmas present ever. This year, the Christmas Gift Convoy once again brought smiles and hope to thousands of children in Bulgaria, Romania, Moldova, Poland, and Ukraine. With over 150,000 parcels delivered, hundreds of volunteers, and countless heartwarming moments, the convoy has become a true testament to what the Round Table Family & Friends can achieve together.

A Convoy of Remarkable Dimensions

Each year, the Christmas Gift Convoy involves an impressive operation: 30 trucks, 10 escort vehicles, and 6 coaches, with over 260 drivers and helpers traveling to ensure the gifts reach those who need them most. What’s even more remarkable? The convoy is 100% volunteer-driven, with nearly 60% of the helpers coming from the four clubs of the Round Table Family: Round Table, Ladies’ Circle, Old Tablers, and Agora Club Tangent Germany. The remaining participants are close friends of the convoy, all united by a shared purpose: bringing hope and joy to children living in poverty.

The journey is no small feat. The convoy departs just before the first Advent, requiring two days of driving, over 2000km for the longest tour, with three drivers per vehicle. Once in the destination countries, the teams split into smaller groups to deliver parcels directly to schools, kindergartens, and community centers in rural and impoverished areas. Here, collaboration with local partners, friends, and organizations is critical. In fact, such partnerships have even led to the creation of Round Table Moldova, a testament to the incredible energy and impact of this project.

How It All Began

The story of the Christmas Gift Convoy began over two decades ago, in 2001, as part of Round Table Germany’s National Service Project. At that time, members were involved in building the "Günter Rick Training Center" in Timișoara, Romania. This facility, still active today, provides vocational training for young people from underprivileged backgrounds. Witnessing the extreme poverty in some regions of Romania, the idea emerged to bring Christmas parcels for the children during one of the visits.

In December 2001, the first convoy was launched, carrying parcels packed with care and love. Since then, the Christmas Gift Convoy has become an annual tradition, growing in scale and reach every year.

While the initial focus was Romania, the convoy now brings joy to children across five countries. Over the years, it has delivered close to milestone that will very likely be reached with the 25th convoy set for next year.

How the Convoy Works

The convoy starts long before the trucks hit the road. Beginning early in the year, members of the Round Table Family and their friends organize the campaign: raising awareness, designing flyers, and coordinating collection points. Schools, kindergartens, and families across Germany play a huge role in donating parcels, ensuring each one is thoughtfully packed. The supporters of the convoy explain the goal of the convoy: that children donate one toy from their own collection, and the families add other toys, sweets, clothing or school supplies –so that every gift is meaningful.

By November, the parcels are collected at designated drop-off points all over Germany, where volunteers inspect, sort, and repackage them if necessary. The logistics team then organizes the loading of the trucks, ensuring everything is ready for the big departure. From start to finish, the entire project is coordinated by volunteers who dedicate their time and expertise to make it a success.

Financing the Mission

The Christmas Gift Convoy relies entirely on donations and sponsorships. From trucks, radio devices, to food for the volunteers during the journey, everything is provided by generous supporters. Donations – from individual to company sponsors - cover essential logistics costs, while other sponsors donate vehicles, goods, and services. Behind the scenes, teams work tirelessly to manage customs clearance, toll exemptions, and freight documentation – a monumental task handled entirely on a volunteer basis.

Over the years, the Christmas Gift Convoy has resonated far beyond Germany, inspiring similar initiatives and international participation. In Austria, the four clubs of Round Table, Ladies’ Circle, Old Tablers, and Agora Club Tangent have established their own convoy, the Weihnachtspackerlaktion, delivering joy to children in need with the same spirit of generosity and care

The convoy itself has also attracted participants and support from across Europe. Longstanding volunteers from the United Kingdom and Denmark regularly join the journey, bringing their enthusiasm and energy to the effort. Additionally, parcels donated by families and supporters in Denmark make their way to the convoy, further emphasizing the truly global spirit of this initiative. This growing international engagement highlights how the values of the Round Table Family transcend borders, uniting people in their shared mission to make a difference in the lives of children

More Than a Convoy: The Impact of a Shared Mission

The Christmas Gift Convoy is not just about delivering parcels; it’s about delivering hope, joy, and the assurance that every child matters. In villages and towns across Eastern Europe, these gifts create moments of happiness and connection that leave a lasting impact on children, families, and even the volunteers themselves.

partnerships with local organizations and the international volunteers and donors who join us, the convoy exemplifies the power of collaboration and compassion.

To everyone who drives, packs, sponsors, and supports this incredible project – thank you. You are the heart and soul of this mission, and together we’re doing so much more than delivering parcels. We’re sharing joy, building bridges, and inspiring hope in ways that truly transcend borders.

THE DAY RT37 BOUGHT A HORSE

A Tale of Fondue, Foals, and a Happy Ending

Animal lovers and vegetarians, brace yourselves—this quirky tale has a surprisingly heartwarming conclusion!

Nestled in Avenches, Switzerland—a charming town steeped in history as the former capital of Roman Helvetia and now a hub for equestrian culture—lies the National Stud and the headquarters of the Fédération du Franches Montagnes (FSFM), the guardian of Switzerland’s only native horse breed. It’s also where Round Table 37 (RT37) gathers, blending camaraderie with community service in this picturesque town that straddles the Vaud and Fribourg cantons.

A Night to Remember

In September 2021, during my tenure as president of RT37, I secured my wife’s blessing to run a bar during FSFM’s annual elite horse competition finals. My wife, an FSFM employee, was on board, and I had a brilliant idea: why not kick things off with a cheese fondue feast?

The evening began innocently enough. As is customary in our wine-loving region, our group indulged in a bottle of wine per person before the bar even opened. Spirits were high, and the atmosphere was ripe for mischief. That’s when Ben, a butcher and fellow Tabler, noticed a nearby auction for elite foals. In our slightly inebriated state, we hatched an audacious plan: send Ben to bid on a young horse—not as a future breeder of the prized Franches Montagnes lineage, but for its... culinary potential.

The Bid That Shocked Us All

The auction began, and the first foal sold for over $7,000. But the second? Less popular and, as fate would have it, well within our reach. Fueled by laughter and wine, Ben placed the winning bid for just $1,500. RT37 had officially bought an elite foal. A jubilant chaos ensued—our bar hadn't even opened, and we were already the topic of conversation.

The Plot Thickens

Our celebratory mood didn’t last long. My wife, curious about our exuberance, discovered our “little” purchase. To say she was unimpressed would be an understatement. While horse meat is culturally accepted in our region, purchasing a young, elite horse destined to carry on the proud Franches Montagnes lineage for such a purpose was decidedly not acceptable.

Realizing the gravity of our faux pas, my wife quickly contacted the breeder, who graciously agreed to cancel the sale. The foal’s future as a proud representative of its breed was restored, and RT37 breathed a collective sigh of relief.

A Lesson in Laughter

In the end, no harm came to the young horse, and the story has become a cherished anecdote—a hilarious cautionary tale of good wine, questionable decisions, and a community that ultimately does the right thing.

Here’s to the adventures of RT37 and the stories that make us laugh, learn, and grow.

HOW I STUCK TO MY NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTION.

Ihave been privileged to achieve two new year’s resolutions in 2024, to quit smoking and celebrated my one-year anniversary as a non-smoker. My second resolution was to run a marathon. To be honest, I quit smoking on 8 December 2023, so by the time the 2024 new year’s resolutions started, I was already 3 weeks into the journey of quitting a habit I had for various years. By sticking to your new year’s resolution could have a range of factors to consider, which depending on person to person and the nature of the resolution. There is no such thing as a fool proof plan for all persons and all resolutions. This is a reflection on my personal journey.

The first step is to have a valid and compelling reason you want to achieve the feat of your chosen resolution. Most people like the idea of a resolution than the actual sacrifice that goes with it, but can you imagine how satisfying it would be if we could follow through on all our new year’s resolutions – we would be unstoppable. The first step is determining your “WHY” and with that your “Just Cause”. I had to quit smoking to be healthier and not suffer from the adverse consequences of smoking. I have completed various half-marathons in the past few years and wanted to test myself by going the full distance – 42.2km.

My second step was to develop a plan to achieve the long-term resolutions. We all know what they say about failing to plan is planning to fail. We all need a plan, to do milestone tracking to determine our progress. One can then determine whether the plan is working or whether it needs to be adjusted. It is imperative to get some proper info from other people to determine what challenges you might face and how to overcome certain obstacles.

The third step was to set short term goals in line with achieving the long-term goal – so I celebrated each week of being smoke free and started with running shorter distances on a more frequent basis. You will not be able to run longer distances if you are unable to have a good run on shorter distances. You should ensure that your short-term goals are manageable and that your plan in in line with achieving your long-term goal. This flows into the next step, which is creating new habits. If you can turn a new goal into a habit, it is much easier to complete the short-term goals that will lead to achieving the long-term goal. Habits are created by discipline and without discipline, you will not be able to achieve any goal, whether short-term or long-term.

The last and a particularly important note is to remember to also go easy on yourself and if you end up slipping, just start again, eventually you will get there and achieve your goal.

Round Table Southern Africa

RTSA

has a long-standing tradition in that the Bloemfontein clubs, RT25 & RT 158, annually hosts the Associations Council Shadow Meeting, or more popularly known as “Shadow Assco”.

Shadow is where the next term’s Incoming Assco (Association council consisting of the Association Executive committee and the 14 Area Chairmans) have their first meeting. The purpose is to start their strategic planning and have a proper “meet and greet,’ so when they take over at the Artsa (AGM) and have their first Assco meeting on the Sunday, they are well prepared and ensure a smooth handover to the next group of leaders.

The Shadow meeting is the highlight of the Bloemfontein Clubs calendar, and they take extreme pride in hosting this annual event, which started back in 1989 and have been hosted in Bloemfontein ever since. Legend has it, that the idea started back at the 1989 Artsa, hosted by the Free State Area in Bloemfontein. The convenor and his co-convener were invited by the then President to attend the first Association Council meeting on the Sunday after Artsa. They found that the new Assco struggled in the meeting, specifically of what was expected from them and what each portfolio holders plan was for the coming term. The Bloemfontein clubs then had various discussions and concluded that it would invite the then RTSA Vice President and his incoming council to have a shadow meeting in Bloemfontein, which is also conveniently situated in the central part of South Africa.

the Shadow meeting is great for strategic planning, but also creates an opportunity for the incoming council to meet each other and start collaborating prior to taking over. The ladies are entertained with a lady’s tour during the meeting, where they meet the other spouses and get to start bonding. Shadow and Bloemfontein are a place where friends become family.

The Shadow weekend also has its own various traditions that include that the preparation for Shadow by the Bloemfontein clubs already start in April of the year, where the 2 table chairman’s hand over an invitation in the form of a club banner to the newly elected Vice-President, to invite him and his incoming council to Shadow in November of that year. The next step is to arrange home-hosting for all the delegates and their spouses and the personalised goody bags with each delegate’s name and position. the Friday evening’s welcome party is opened by the Vice-President and is where he and his wife hands over the “Wobbly Hats” to a tabler and wife and is used as a tool for the group to learn to know another. The meeting on Saturday’s highlight must be the video compiled by the incoming vice-president of the past presidents, recording a good luck message for the incoming president. The Saturday evening is a theme party, and all delegates receive a banner from the incoming president. The current president and incoming IPP is not allowed to attend the meeting.

Shadow Assco is a great tradition that marks the beginning of a term where a group not only becomes family, but also share great moments and experiences, which remains live long memories.

A

JOURNEY BEYOND CRICKET:

How Round Table Builds Brotherhood Across Borders

Andries van Rooyen, Round Table Southern Africa

When I boarded the plane for Sri Lanka, I focused on the indoor cricket World Cup. Representing South Africa on the international stage is no small feat, and I was excited about the matches ahead. But little did I know that this journey would offer much more than just the thrill of competition—it would deepen my connection to the global brotherhood of Round Table in ways I hadn’t imagined.

Our journey began in September when we set off from South Africa to Dubai and then to Colombo. It was a long trek, but it only fuelled the anticipation. The thought of the upcoming matches, the thrill of the competition, and the chance to represent our country on an international stage filled us with excitement. There were nine teams competing in our age group, and the competition promised to be fierce. We faced some tough matches—especially against Australia in the semi-finals, which was nail-bitingly close. But we prevailed, earning our spot in the finals against the UAE. Despite giving it our all, we just fell short, finishing second.

The tournament itself was exhilarating. The heat and humidity of Sri Lanka tested us physically, but the thrill of playing on an international stage, representing our country, made it all worth it. Yet, amidst the excitement of the games, what stood out most were the connections I made—not just with my teammates but with fellow Round Tablers from all over the world.

As a member of Round Table, I’ve always known that we’re part of a global community. But it’s easy to forget how far-reaching that network is until you experience it firsthand. In Colombo, I found myself sitting next to a coach from another team, and to my surprise, he turned out to be a fellow Tabler, now a 41er. We shared stories about our local projects, our experiences in Round Table, and our love for cricket. That moment reminded me of how Round Table transcends borders—wherever you go, there’s always a friendly face, always someone who shares the same values of friendship, service, and fun.

The hospitality we received in Sri Lanka was nothing short of amazing. The local Tablers went out of their way to make us feel welcome, organising cooler boxes with drinks for us, helping with logistics, and even inviting us to their homes and businesses.

One evening, we gathered at Playtrix, a local bar and restaurant owned by a Tabler, where we shared stories over some of the best food and wine I’ve had in a long time. These weren’t just random connections—they were the kind of friendships that feel like they’ve been there all along, just waiting to be discovered. The owner of Playtrix, a Tabler himself, treated us like royalty, sharing his personal collection of cricket memorabilia and regaling us with stories of his own Round Table experiences.

One of the highlights of the trip was visiting a cricket bar in Colombo, filled with memorabilia from cricket’s rich history. Sitting there, surrounded by reminders of the sport we all love, I couldn’t help but reflect on how lucky I was to be part of something bigger. Round Table has always been about more than just what we do locally—it’s about building bridges across continents, forming friendships that span the globe, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. As I walked around Colombo, explored the local markets filled with vibrant colours and exotic scents, and took in the beautiful sights, I realised that this trip was about much more than cricket. It was about fellowship. Sure, we were there to compete, but the real prize was the camaraderie we shared. The Sri Lankan Tablers treated us like family, and in return, we formed bonds that I know will continue long after we’ve returned home.

Round Table has given me the chance to experience the world in a way that few others do. Through every handshake, every shared meal, and every laugh, I’ve felt the strength of our global brotherhood. And that’s what makes this organisation so special. It’s not just about the events or the projects—it’s about the people. The friendships we forge, the connections we build, and the sense of belonging we create. It's a feeling of being part of something bigger that transcends borders and unites us all.

So here’s to the next tournament, the next adventure, and the next chance to meet my brothers from around the world. Because in the end, it’s not just about cricket—it’s about the journey, the friendships, and the global brotherhood that make Round Table truly unique.

Small red onion, chopped

20g ginger, peeled and roughly chopped

3 cloves of garlic

2 tablespoon curry powder (mild, medium, hot to your liking)

Fresh coriander, chopped

400g light coconut milk

4 frozen fish fillets (Cod, Hake, Basa, Haddock)

Cover and simmer for 10 mins, still on a medium-high heat, then remove the lid, stir gently and cook for another 5 mins or until the fish is cooked through, the green beans are tender and the sauce has thickened (it will not be a very thick sauce so do not worry if it seems thin). Try to be delicate when stirring so the fish does not break up. Squeeze over the lime juice and check for seasoning. Divide the rice and curry into 4 portions and sprinkle remaining coriander and serve.

SPREADING CHRISTMAS CHEER:

RTBI’s Santa Sleigh Tradition

James Edwards, Round Table Great Britain & Ireland

For decades, RTBI (Round Table Britain and Ireland) has brought the magic of Christmas to life through its beloved “Santa Sleigh” tradition. This festive initiative involves local Round Table groups parading through their towns with Father Christmas aboard a brightly decorated sleigh, spreading joy and raising money for local good causes.

A Community-Focused Festivity

The Santa Sleigh is more than just a holiday event—it’s a cherished tradition. Tables across RTBI gear up every year to bring Father Christmas to their communities, complete with loud Christmas music and festive cheer that echoes through the streets. For many towns, the Santa Sleigh is a highlight of the season, eagerly anticipated by families and residents alike.

Making a Difference

What started as a fun way to celebrate the season has evolved into a powerful fundraiser. Local residents flock to the streets to support the sleigh, donating spare change or, more recently, contributing online. The impact is staggering—across RTBI, the Santa Sleighs collectively raise hundreds of thousands of pounds annually. Every penny goes directly to local charities and causes, ensuring the festive joy extends far beyond the event itself.

A Tradition Built on Dedication

The success of the Santa Sleighs reflects the hard work and dedication of Round Table members. From organizing routes to decorating the sleighs and creating a festive atmosphere, it’s a labor of love that unites communities and strengthens the bond between Tables and their local areas.

Capturing the Magic

The photos shared from recent Santa Sleigh events showcase the vibrant scenes of joy, laughter, and generosity. Children’s faces light up as they meet Father Christmas, and communities come together, united by the spirit of giving. These images are a testament to the positive impact RTBI continues to make, year after year.

As the Santa Sleighs roll through towns this holiday season, they carry more than just Father Christmas—they carry the spirit of community, generosity, and hope. Here’s to another year of spreading joy and making a difference!

INTRODUCING THE INCREDIBLE UNICORN CLUB

Imagine this: you’re at a lively gathering with friends or family, everyone’s laughing, swapping stories, and the drinks are flowing – but without anyone feeling like they have to keep up. It’s easygoing, it’s fun, and everyone’s just enjoying the moment their way. That’s the spirit of the Unicorn Club, a refreshing approach to social gatherings that puts people first, not the drinks.

The club’s little unicorn pin is just a simple, friendly symbol that you’re making your own choice – whether you’re sipping on a refreshing mocktail, a cocktail or enjoying a splash of lemonade. It’s an understated way to show that everyone and any choices are welcome, setting a relaxed tone for gatherings, big or small.

The Incredible Unicorn Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients:

1/2 lime, cut into wedges

20 slices of cucumber

12 basil leaves (plus a sprig for garnish)

4 cl agave syrup sparkling water ice cubes

Method

Chill the Glass: Start by chilling a tumbler or whiskey glass with ice. Mash the Basil: Place 12 basil leaves in a shaker and gently press them with a muddler. Don’t tear them – this keeps the flavor smooth, not bitter.

Cucumber & Lime: Add 20 slices of cucumber and mash well, to extract the juices. Then add the lime wedges to the shaker and muddle again.

Add Sweetness: Pour in 4 cl agave syrup for a touch of sweetness

Shake, shake, shake: Add ice, shake well, then strain it into your chilled glass.

Top with sparkling water & garnish: Add sparkling water for a little fizz, and garnish with a cucumber slice or basil sprig for extra flair.

Variations for Those Who Like a Twist

If you'd like a more traditional cocktail:

Vodka Option: Add 3 cl vodka and reduce the sparkling water.

More Sparkling Option: Replace sparkling water with sparkling wine or Pro secco for a touch of elegance.

Whether you're rocking the ancient unicorn, the shiny unicorn or just enjoying the vibe, here’s to good company, refreshing choices, and the freedom to celebrate responsibly!

From the stress of toy production deadlines to maintaining good relationships with all my elves and reindeer, the journey to mental wellness can sometimes feel as daunting as navigating through a blizzard.

However, I've learned that seeking help and prioritizing my mental health isn't a sign of weakness – it's as strong and brave as facing the coldest winter night!

That's why I'm sharing my annual mental health check-in routine with you dear Tablers.

Whether you're looking to build resilience like my trusty reindeer, manage stress better than my workshop on Christmas Eve, or find support like I do from Mrs. Claus and the elves, you just have a simple list of things to be sure to take a look on.

This guide will equip you with the tools you need to take charge of your mental health and lead a more balanced, fulfilling life. Keep in mind that managing emotions is a journey, not a destination. Be patient with yourself,

I find wisdom in the whispers of the forest and the sparkle of fresh snow.

Practice gratitude

Ask for help when you need it

Remember, my dear friends, taking care of your mental health and the one of your friends is the best gift you can give yourself.

As I always tell my elves: “A healthy mind keeps the toy factory running, but more importantly, it keeps the magic of Christmas alive all year round!”

THE ROUND TABLE INTERNATIONAL Head Board Visit to India

An Unforgettable Experience

It was a special moment for Round Table India when our President, Danielle, agreed to combine the reconnaissance for the World Meeting with her visit to our National Annual General Meeting (AGM). The excitement began as soon as we received confirmations from President Danielle, Vice President Christopher, Secretary Krister, Treasurer Omar, and Past President Jayant.

What followed was a whirlwind week of unforgettable experiences, showcasing Indian hospitality and the heart of Round Table India: Service through Fellowship.

Day 1:

Serving Humanity

We kicked things off by serving food outside a government hospital—a project that’s been running continuously for two years. It was heartwarming to see the impact of this initiative firsthand.

Lunch at a famous Delhi restaurant was a feast for the senses, with our international brothers relishing Butter Chicken and the iconic Garlic Naans.

Later, we attended the Bhoomi Poojan (groundbreaking ceremony) for four classrooms in Ghaziabad, a project led by Club No. 308 to support underprivileged students. Our international guests were fascinated by the rituals and the deeper meaning they hold in Indian culture.

The evening was all about fellowship. We attended business meetings of eight Delhi clubs, giving the international board a chance to engage with local Tablers. The night ended with over 70 Tablers coming together for a lively evening of fun and bonding.

Day 2:

The Recce Meet

The second day focused on preparations for the World Meeting 2025 in Gurugram. A detailed four-hour meeting ensured everything was on track. The international board reviewed the venues and left with clear expectations for the event

Christmas Celebrations

Later, we brought the festive spirit to life at a local school. Vice President Chris stole the show dressed as Santa Claus, handing out chocolates and spreading smiles. The day continued with high tea at Tr. Pulkit’s residence, where warm hospitality set the tone for the evening.

The fellowship that night, hosted by Club No. 217 in Gurgaon, was nothing short of magical. The mix of great company, cold winter air, and hearty conversations made for an unforgettable evening. Two new Tablers were also inducted, adding a special touch to the celebration.

A huge shoutout to Tr. Pulkit and Past Tabler Moriya for their flawless execution and care.

Day 3: National AGM – Jodhpur Calling

The journey then took us to Jodhpur for our National AGM. The city welcomed us with its charm and warmth, and the excitement was palpable as we settled into the tent city.

The evening fellowship was a perfect blend of culture and camaraderie, with Rajasthani folk dances, bonfires, and the unmistakable spirit of Tabling.

Day 4:

The Opening Party

The day began with the National Executive Meeting, giving our international brothers a glimpse into how we operate and serve our communities.

The opening party that evening was a spectacle, with over 900 Tablers and Circlers coming together to celebrate. The venue, transformed into a vibrant Tent City, offered everything from hot air balloon rides to camel rides and dune bashing. Kudos to Club No. 273 for pulling off this massive feat!

Days 5 - 7:

Fellowship and Farewells

The final days were dedicated to the National AGM, which brought together Tablers and Circlers from across India, along with guests from 12 countries. The scale and energy of the event left everyone, including our international guests, in awe.

Memorable Moments:

The banner exchange and presentation of mementos by Tr. Chaitanya to our international guests were moments of pride.

The achievements of clubs and individuals were celebrated during the awards ceremony, led by Past President Tr. Robin Agarwala.

The night fellowships were electric, with DJs, live bands, and dance floors keeping the energy alive until dawn. No one partied on an empty stomach, thanks to the non-stop food stations!

Closing Thoughts

There’s a beautiful saying in Hindi: “Atithi Devo Bhava”—guests are equivalent to God. For us, hosting our international friends and brothers is an honor, and we made it our mission to ensure they had the time of their lives.

We look forward to welcoming many of you again at the World Meeting in September 2025. Until then, thank you for being part of this journey.

MODEL SCHOOL BY ROUND TABLE NEPAL

Education is the key to a prosperous nation and its citizens. With this key idea in mind, for the last 25 years, Round Table Nepal has focused its energy and resources on uplifting education in Nepal. Freedom Through Education (FTE) is a project of Round Table Nepal in which we built school infrastructure (mostly classrooms), toilet blocks, libraries, etc. for the less fortunate citizens of Nepal.

Times have changed, and so has the contemporary education model. We now realize that having a classroom to study isn’t quite enough. The overall development of the child is essential to ensure that the children studying in these schools are skilled enough to compete in these challenging environments.

This is where the concept of Model Schools was ideated. A Model School is a school of Round Table Nepal that will have all the necessary infrastructures, such as classrooms, toilet blocks, safe drinking water facilities, a library, a computer lab, a science lab, and a playground, among others. Teacher training has also been identified as a major gap in providing quality education; hence, we have the Train the Teachers program as a pre-requisite for a Model School.

The concept of Model School was conceptualized and initiated in 2023-24. In its first year itself, Round Table Nepal inaugurated 5 Model Schools across Nepal during the RTI HYM 2024 which happened in Nepal in February and March. This year, we have inaugurated 6 Model Schools in the presence of RTI President, Daniele Cusi and our President, Pravesh Agrawal. This initiative has been discussed with the past, current, and future leaders of Round Table Nepal so that the project can be taken care of in the distant future.

In a nutshell, Round Table Nepal has pitched the idea of Model Schools to its members as “A Model School is a school that you are proud of !” We believe this will develop a sense of ownership among our members toward their Model Schools, which will be maintained so that our Tablers remain proud of them.
