Mail & Guardian Feature
A New Heritage; Kulture Reimagined Exhibition
Primedia’s subsidiary: Primestars is a social enterprise that develops programmes for underprivileged youth utilising the cinema platform to air educational movies. As assistant project manager, I was part of the team that developed the leadership initiative “Step Up Let’s Lead”. My role involving design and layout of launch material and project management and coordination at National level.
The Visual Narrative “#4” was well-received. Drawing influences from online exhibitions, it’s initial presentation was on social media. Each illustration was accompanied by a poem that carried the narrative. This visual narrative was graced by the poetry of four amazing writers: Khumo Ntoane, Gareth Clark Coetzee, Ntsika Tyatya and Bulumko Nyamezele.
The Mail & Guardian commisioned Ogilvy & Mathers, David Tshabalala and myself to create an “anti-ad” mock print ad.
An exhibition alongside talented designer: David Tshabalala.

BRAND personal
Rudo | roo-dรถh | Developing my personal brand meant firstly establishing what my brand ethos would be. I eventually summed it up in one word that encapsulates a passion for my craft, driving force and interactions with people...
Shona word for love.
Enjoyment of, appreciation of/for, taste for, delight for/in, relish of, passion for, zeal for, appetite for, zest for, enthusiasm for, keenness for, fondness for, soft spot for, weakness for, bent for, proclivity for, inclination for, disposition for, partiality for, predilection for, penchant for.
entrepreneurship
I continue striving to find the perfect balance between a philanthropic business model and a focused, profitable value proposition. My entrepreneurial journey began in 2011 when I left formal employment. It’s been filled with many learning curves. Quaint coffee shops that offer good food, great coffee, a good view (and unlimited wi-fi of course) are essentially office and networking spaces for many of us creative entrepreneurs.

I’m passionate about youth development. This passion takes shape in facilitating creative workshops for youth, finding interesting ways of unpacking real issues through dialogue and creative expression. The Niks Mapha Movement is my expression of philanthropy and I am currently drafting concepts for future collaborative outreach projects for broader impact.
