Since 2003, the Art Club Ibiza (a non profit organisation) has published an annual guide of painters, sculptors and photographers living on Ibiza and Formentera, titled 'Ruta del Arte' .
The purpose is to highlight some of the multitude of creative minds on the islands, in all their diversity.
The focus of this year’s edition is on Mixed Media, the merging of various techniques in one artwork, a term coined in 1912 for Cubist collages by Picasso and Braque.
For this reason, the first article in the artist section features this whole development, which had a revolutionary influence on the arts, aimed at overcoming frontiers and merging hitherto separate art forms. Since its beginnings early last century, the mixing of media has gained steadily and is about to develop into hybrid art forms early this century.
