The National Eating Disorder Walk’s purpose was to prove the power of a community and to help others fight the illness by supporting one another. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience. Although, walking at 5am in the morning to pick up my friend and arriving at Flushing Library wasn’t a pleasant idea. At the same time, the meet up changed to 7:40 am. and since we already arrived at Flushing Library, we had time to eat breakfast. Later, I was able to go out of my comfort zone and communicate to people in different grades and schools. During the walk, I was able to meet and learn from new friends with different personalities. The walk did not feel long at all, because while we crossed the Brooklyn Bridge, we had fun talking to one another and taking photos of the sceneries around us.-Cindy Qiu, member
