What is a
Brand Guide? Brand guides are used to portray the personality, values, and identity of a company or organization. This brand guide identifies the fun, welcoming nature of Safe Schools South Florida and sets guidelines on how to execute the brand’s image through stationery, promotional material, and anything else that might represent the organization. Members of Safe Schools South Florida or anyone who designs any material for the organization should refer to this brand guide and create material with the specifications in mind in order to maintain a consistent look that the its audience can recognize.
What is
Safe Schools South Florida?
Safe Schools South Florida is an organization comprised of education professionals that dedicate their work to creating safe school environments for students of the LGBTQ to feel like they are given an equal opportunity to thrive in their academic and extracurricular endeavors. It aims to teach overall respect for all to students of South Florida Schools. For the past 21 years, the organization has put its efforts towards holding Gay/ Straight Alliance leadership trainings and diversity trainings, training educators in intervening in the bullying of LGBTQ students and all other students, educating guardians and the community through its SpeakOUT Speaker Bureau as it monitors its prorams to maintain progress towards its goal.
Former Logo The previous logo features multiple multi-colored palm trees that correspond with the rainbow to symbolize the LGBTQ communities. The palm tree graphics are all slanted and too overwhelming to look at all together. The type is also pixelated and distorted in a way that makes the logo look even more unappealing and confusing.

Horizontal Logo
Symbol The new logo includes a palm tree with rainbow leaves inside of a heart. The palm tree, symbolizing the region of South Florida, has leaves that correspond with the colors of the rainbow to represent the LGBTQ students and community. The palm tree is placed inside of a heart to serve as a reminder of feeling love in a safe environment. The heart is black to bring out the colors of the palm leaves and to serve as a versatile palette that can be used on any background.

The pattern can be used to embellish any material for Safe Schools South Florida. The pattern includes layers of semi-transparent leaves from the logo’s symbol.
Typefaces Gotham is the only acceptable typeface to use with any Safe Schools South Florida. The specific font should NEVER change on the logo itself “Safe Schools” should always be all caps in Gotham Black
