Students brave cold weather and long drives to support their ’Canes on the road It was a brisk 30 degrees, snow flurries swirling around the car and I was huddled up under a blanket with a cup of hot chocolate. Not the typical tailgating experience at Sun Life Stadium that most students recognize, but this was what tailgating at the away game against the Pittsurgh Panthers felt like. The other away game with high attendence was in Tallahassee, Fla. Senior Tiffany Damm desribed her tailgating experience at FSU as surreal, “like the entire student body was throwing a huge party, since their stadium is on campus.” Junior Jake Putman said tailgating at FSU is more like “ratchet lawn parties that start at 8 a.m.” For Putman and his friends, even though they cheered for the away team, “no matter what happened at the game, we knew we’d be chanting ‘safety school’ the whole time.” By Holly Bensur
HOT FOR HOT TOTTIE Cold weather tailgating calls for a hot drink to warm you up and prepare for the game when multiple layers of clothing just aren’t cutting it. Hot Tottie is the perfect combination of sweet and spicy to do the trick. By Holly Bensur
