‘Strikepoint,’ Hodders to highlight Commissioning Weekend

“We are not called to mind the store, but to create whole new mission fronts in this great salvation war. Let’s go for it!” —Commissioner Barry C. Swanson, territorial commander
T
his year’s Commissioning Weekend in Hershey, Pa., June 6–8, will officially launch “Strikepoint,” a four–point initiative designed to reach youth, recruit and develop new leaders, redefine and integrate urban ministry, and enhance discipleship through a stronger emphasis on Bible study and prayer. The initiative comes from the heart and vision of Commissioner Barry C. Swanson, territorial commander, who said, “This is the product of 40 years that have transpired since
I made an adult decision to follow Christ and to offer my life in His service.” Special guests for the weekend will be Commissioners Kenneth G. and Jolene K. Hodder, leaders of the Kenya West Territory. On Friday, June 6, the evening will begin at 6 p.m., with the traditional “Silver Star” dinner. At 7:30 p.m., officers, family, and friends of the “Disciples of the Cross” session (2012–2014) will witness a commencement service in which cadets will receive academic and achievement honors. continued on page
