Commissioners Ralph and Susan Bukiewicz, commissioned and ordained in 1980 and 1981, respectively, ministered and served as corps officers in several communities throughout the Central Territory prior to being appointed to divisional, territorial, and national leadership positions. They have served as divisional leaders in the (former) Metropolitan and the Western Michigan and Northern Indiana Divisions, as Territorial Secretary for Personnel and Officer Resource and Development Secretary for the USA Central Territory, as Chief Secretary and Territorial Secretary for Women’s Ministries/Officer Development Secretary for the USA Southern Territory, and as National Chief Secretary and National Secretary for Personnel at National Headquarters in the United States. As Territorial Community Relations and Development Secretaries, they coordinated major fundraising, public relations, emergency disaster services, publications, and visual communications projects throughout the central United States. They also oversaw the selection, development, and construction of six innovative Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Centers in the Midwest. They have traveled extensively, visiting and ministering in 32 countries on five continents. In addition, both have attended the Brengle Holiness Institute and the International College for Officers. Commissioners Bukiewicz have two adult children, Jonathan and Jillian, and four grandchildren, Chloe, Mylo, Roman, and Simon.
