8 Welcome to Ca dets

“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” —Philippians 3:12–14 NIV

SONG #279 to god be the glory 1. To God be the glory, Great things He hath done! So loved He the world That He gave us His Son; Who yielded His life An atonement for sin, And opened the life gate That all may go in. Chorus Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Let the people rejoice! O come to the Father Through Jesus the Son, And give Him the glory; Great things He hath done!

2. O perfect redemption, The purchase of blood! To every believer the promise of God; The vilest offender Who truly believes, That moment from Jesus A pardon receives. 3. Great things He hath taught us, Great things He hath done, And great our rejoicing Through Jesus the Son; But purer and higher And greater will be Our wonder, our rapture, When Jesus we see. Mary Elizabeth Servoss (b 1849)
