Case Study 04. Pegasus

Background Based in Oxford, Pegasus (previously Pegasus Theatre) is an arts centre that specialises in youth arts, new performance work and supporting emerging artists and companies. Following a ÂŁ7m revamp that included a purpose-built space, Pegasus wanted to develop a new brand that invigorated interest and excitement in Oxford.

Logo The aim was to bring together disparate aspects of the centre, all housed in the original theatre including dance, youth theatre, a production company and other community schemes. The logo does this by literally forming from peices that come together and stop around the outside of the ‘P’ shape. Th aminlogo is created by circles but it can be trasnfered to just about anything to be used within the context of whatever it may be, which I find clever and effective.

Application The campaign was steretched across a launch event and all throughout the interior design of the centre effectivly. The idea of ‘circles’ was played upon to great effect throughout all aspects of hte company. I’ll take a look at some specifics now...

The Interior used shapes used within the logo taken away and reworked into something new to create signage and wayfinding throughout the centre.

Events and Games are created based around the shapes of the brand. This helps integrate the brand into the public in a fun enviroment. Very Clever.

A Brand System has been created that can be applied to all promotional material, Print and Web based collateral. The Circles are used within imagery to create a solid identity.
