Logo Development
Akin Bolaji Osun is a third year fashion student and soon to be graduate at Leeds College of Art. He is looking for a personal and professional brand and identity for him as a Fashion Design Graduate including Web and Print based collateral for his own Identity and his latest Fashion Range.
The target audience will be determined by Bolaji. The current target audience is potential investors in his products, which is primarily young proffesional women, but also potential investors in his talents, fashion based companies.
The logo is inspired by Bolaji’s inspiration and heritage. His work features a lot of pattern based prints which is influenced by african culture and pattern. The shapes that make up the logo, have been developed by using the shapes of the letterforms in his name, and pattern based research .
Brand Imagery
Colour Scheme
The brand imagery will be primarily photography based, along with the sloid brand applied across it. Layout will be determined by the influences of Bolaji’s working style.
The core colour scheme will be black and white, and focus heavily on quality, craft, stock and process. His latest fashion range will introduce a spot colour, to make it pop, but remain consistant within the brand.
Brief Outline His Personal Brand will include a logo and a solid identity including a corporate typeface and colour scheme, which will be applied across a full range of stationary, print collateral and products necessary for personal and professional use. His latest Fashion Range will be a three-way collaboration with the Fashion Designer himself, a Photographer and myself to Brand, Art Direct and style the Range and create a finished Look book and Web Presence for the Range.

Letterpressed Business Cards

The business cards will invert, coming in a combination of two colours, white nd black. I will be using Embossed Lines stock from GFSmith and will be creating copper plates to apply the ink and letterpressed ffinish to the cards, focussing on quality of print, reflecting the quality of his products.
A Similar technique will be used for the letterhead and envelope, focussing on quality and craft. I will introduce the brown paper stock, to break up the black and whtie.
This brand will be carried across Bolaji’s personal branding too. His Sketchbooks and Notebooks will all look and feel the same, which make his brand consistant throughout everything.

Standard (A5) Lookbook
Lookbook Packaging
The A5 Lookbook will be reproduced at quite a large quantity. The layout is inspred by Bolaji’s working style and will be hevilly focussed on typography throughout. There will be primarily black and white print, with some colour photographs and a spot neon orange, whcih will be the colour of his latest Spring Summer Range.
I was looking for interesting ways to package the lookbook which will make it stand out abover anything else. Bolaji was looking for a way in which he could send out some of his work to potential investors. I’ve been playing around with the idea of a transparent PVC enveope which will use vinyl applied to the front, to make his logo apparent. The lookbook will be visible underneath.

Fold-Out Lookbook
Hangers Label

This Fold-Out Lookbook will be made of one single A2 page and fold down to A5. This means that it can be given out quite generously as it is more easy to reproduce at larger quantities. When folded down, the type is readable as a booklet, but then can be unfolded into a full scale poster, playing on photography and the brand icons.
I plan to laser cut and apply vinyl to the hangers and tags in his exhibition. The hangers will be painted white and the tags will consist of neon orange stock and a transparent overlaid stock too.
I will be transfering the brand across to web. Bolaji is looking for a website that is interactive and this is still Work in Progress. I’m looking to overlay the Logo and navigation bar to be fixed, while the content is scrollable in the background.
