Context Tom Reilly is a third year Photography student and soon to be Graduate currently based in the UK. He Considers Himself to be documentary photography and is more visually inspired by and focussed on the world around him, more than conceptual driven ideas. “I try to make my work as non-conceptual as it possibly can be. I feel concepts in photography tend to restrict outcomes and prevent what people really want to shoot.”
Brief Thomas is looking for a professional identity for him to apply to his personal work as well as help him find commercial work outside of university. This will obviously include a business card as a main point of physical contact but will also need to be applied across a wider range of material, such as a publication he will soon be creating as well as a web presence. The design needs to be clear, professional and sleek, but not overpowering. It is to be used to compliment the photographic work, which will be the main focal point.
Preparation/Research suggestions Further interviews with and research into of Thomas as a Photographer. Regular Meeting points to discuss Ideas and concepts around the Branding. A Deeper look into the work and style of the Photographer will give a clearer understanding Research into exsisting Photographer’s Branding. What has been done before? What hasn’t been done before?
Evidence – for this project students should submit Brand and Identity applied across a range of Print and Web based Deliverables including; Logo, Corporate Typeface, Colour Scheme, Business Card, Letterhead, Comp Slip, Website, Publication, Vinyl for his Exhibition Space. A Layout and Design Style applied to Tom’s newest photography based publications and also his website.
