Lookbook Research Jean Machine

Lane.

This Jean Machine Lookbook is something I come across. The use of stock and finish is key to the quality of the product. The layout is clean, with a mix of type and image, but always sperated by pages.

Lane.

The lookbook focusses heavilyy on image placement , as do most obviously. It’s important to plan out the layout carefully, and think about image sequencing, what will work together and what won’t.

Lane.

I really like this feature of the book. keyline illustrations of the products which fold out from the back page, with references and and a price guide, to make it way to find and purchase.

Lookbook Research Grandiflorum

Lane.

The Gradiflorum lookbook takes a more experimental approach. It layers up imagery of the studio shoots infront of imagery of patterns and influence to create a ‘scrapbook’ sort of appearance and feel.

Lane.

you cna se how this visual style works throughout the publication. I like the idea of placing images together and overlapping them in order to gain a greater knowledge of research and influence to final product.

Lookbook Research L’articote

Lane.

L’articote is a kids fashion range and this is one of the lookbooks for them. It uses bold type and icons throughout which can appeal to both children and adults. I like the playfulness and although it’s not really appropriate for me, it’s succesfull none the less.

Lane.

Images are layered over more images to create this visual asthetic throughout the book, which is strong and works for the purpose.

Lookbook Research Lacoste Live!

Lane.

Lacoste Fall/Winter Lookbook has a very strong brand and asthetic. The typeface looks similar to TImes New Roman Bold, which is used consistantly throughout the publication. This time, type is used in combination with imagery, overlaid to create the layout.

Lane.

The book is split with title pages, whiich uses bold type and full bleed imagery of close up elements of garments which could be something to consider. `

Lookbook Research Stylist

Lane.

I really like these compositions found in a stylist lookbook. They are quite abstract renditions of studio shot photographs which add to the core ethos of the brands message.

Lookbook Research Raul Maul

Lane.

Great Format for this lookbook from Raul Maul. They seperate the different ranges and sections of clothing by creating a dual opening book, which is accessable from both sides.

Lane.

Lookbook Research Alice Fines

Lane.

Really great concept for these Alice Fine Lookbooks. They are an unusal format, bigger than most and are individually hung by a wire hanger on a rail, acting as a garment themselves.

Lane.

The finishing touches on the lookbook are great. It’s sewn stitched together to add that tactility and realtion to the sewing together and creation of garments.
