The birth of the blue angel Toni Carmine Salerno is a man of such grace – softly spoken and not at all comfortable in discussing himself, yet he has a beautiful story to tell… Returning to Italy at the early age of 11 with his family, Toni remembers drawing one day with some very crude crayons, looking through a small window in Southern Italy to a village and some hills and feeling a strong intuitive knowingness come over him, a defining moment in time, where he just knew he would become an artist. Voyaging back to Australia, saw Toni through his teenage years on a journey of discovery in the artistic element. On reflection, Toni can see that his work over the past 18 years is strikingly similar to his teenage images – the strong feminine, the trees and the angelic essence. Toni believes he managed to actually take the positives of a very strict Catholic School experience and translate them into a very spiritual introduction to the angelic realms. Marrying young and working a business, painting was moved to the occasional hobby, until the wisdom of the Universe shut many doors for Toni, leading him to regular meditation where new doors flung wide open when Toni stood in a decision to focus on his art and acknowledge that painting was his passion, his life and key to his spiritual awakening. Connecting with his present partner Martine at that time saw the birth of ‘Blue Angel’ – a shop and healing centre in Glen Waverly, Victoria, a bold move considering the conservative nature of the area…and so began the long road to overnight success. Toni recalls thousands of times when he vowed to stop, to get a ‘real’ job, yet every time he was on the verge of giving up, something really positive would propel him forward on the adventure again; to pursue his passion time and again. ”Passion can almost be like a form of insanity” ...and on reflection, wonders how he wore so many hats in the early days.
ILLUSTRATION: TRANSIENCE and oracle card apps. This is a family affair with son Michael in Paris doing design and Tanya also in France as chief editor and manager, freeing Toni to develop his creative expression even further… ”A creative space can be a bit high voltage – hard to switch off!”
Toni shares that he never plans a painting, there is no structure or deliberate intent.
Toni has taken the road less travelled and illuminated the lives of many with his art, his written word and his vision. What a contribution and what a blessing! to find out more about Toni’s work, visit the Blue Angel Website.
”I paint when there is a feeling, an energy and the work evolves on the canvas – the meditation occurs as the painting. ”

Toni feels he can connect to the entire universe through colour, feelings and paint – you are experiencing it as it is happening, the flow of life, synergy. Today sees Blue Angel Publishing as an international concern – with Toni’s books and oracle cards translated into French, German, Dutch, Spanish and Japanese, also breaking into the American market and walking into the digital era with ebooks

small band of supporters continue to lobby the governments in each country to help make Tibet free once again.
The life of Tenzin Gyatso, His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, has been the subject of many books, movies and blogs. His life has been lived in exile since he was 23, and as the leader of a nation without a land, the responsibilities would be enough to make the ordinary person give up.
“Everyone wants a happy life. We do not want suffering. Do not want problems. However, most problems are actually our own creation. So here’s the big contradiction. No one wants problems. But we create problems by ourselves. Nobody intentionally creates problems. We become slave of emotions, such as hatred, anger, attachment.”
At the age of 78, the Dalai Lama still continues to travel the world giving his message of love and A powerful message considering that the plight of acceptance to the thousands that attend his public his people is still far from being resolved. The core teaching of The Dalai Lama is a man of contrasting colours. Buddhism – the Four Noble Truths (based around an Peaceful and patient, yet serious and emotional understanding of suffering)– have been a doctrine when it comes to his people and the struggle they experienced first hand by the Tibetans as they are have experienced. From a personal perspective, it was this exact point, Common Sense that was the key fact that opened my understanding and acceptance of Buddhism; it was all just common sense and it goes hand in hand when it comes to understanding the Four Noble Truths - The truth of suffering; the truth of the origin of suffering, the truth of the cessation of suffering and the truth of the path leading to the cessation of suffering.
Being in the presence of a man like the Dalai Lama, leaves you wondering about our lives and the legacy we will leave behind. Will I be someone who passes away without really living or will I have a legacy like the Dalai Lama who travels the world delivering his message of peace, urging us to be mindful of how we live our lives?

PREPARING OUR SPIRIT FOR THE FESTIVE SEASON The energies that prevail around the Christmas and New Year holiday period are anything but peace and goodwill to the planet! The actual marketing machine that is ‘Christmas’ will have us believe that if we are not shaping to the mould of happy family that sings carols, laughs a lot, exchanges expensive gifts and eats turkey with plump smiles than we are definitely not perfect, whole and complete. Christmas can be a very disempowering and confronting experience, where the influence of ‘the tribe’ (family, friends, relatives…) can potentially be destructive, hurtful and depressing. The key to protecting your Divine essence as a spiritual being is a strong and vibrant aura – all negative and unbalanced energies and expectations will naturally be deflected away from your auric field and enable you to feel happy and whole. Everything that exists on this planet is energy of some form – our auras are an electromagnetic field which is emitted from the body’s individual cells and is an extension of our chakra energy centres, so we all have a unique frequency and vibration that serves as further communication between Divine source and our mind, body and spirit. The colour of your aura is determined by your emotions, your physical well-being, the spiritual work you are doing, meditation; and even working with crystals can magnify or change the colour of your aura. Everything in our reality, including the plant and animal kingdom has an aura, you are constantly giving off and absorbing energy, so every single time you come in contact with another person an energy exchange can occur – giving a whole new dimension to last minute Christmas shopping!

Without an awareness of this exchange, and simple steps with daily meditation and an intention to protect your aura, you may experience feeling drained, tired and even feel like you have taken on strange thoughts and ideas that actually don’t belong to you at all! Here are some ways to maintain a dynamic and empowered auric field: • Daily meditation (download the free ebook to get started). • A good healthy diet and adopting the habit of eating less food, more frequently. • Drinking lots of water and getting plenty of fresh air. • Physical exercise, stretching and bending your body. • Listening to beautiful music. • Wearing or burning essential oils and fragrance. • Working with/wearing or carrying crystals – the electrical energy inherent within a crystal will amplify and strengthen your auric field beyond belief! • Daily mantras and affirmation will always, in all ways nurture your spirit. Be mindful of the imprints you leave in another’s aura, let it be part of your intention in your daily morning meditation (see ebook) to give and share love in all your interactions – don’t be the person that leaves another drained of energy this festive season, instead be of service and empower another with your radiant auric field. Shine brightly, travel lightly and you will give others the greatest Christmas gift of all, naturally helping them to shine and feel good about themselves.

born from the ocean, in the foam along the shores of the great South Seas. In the dance of the Beginning, we were born to dream the whales. The whale is our family. Over thousands of years, we have come to this place where the whales gather every winter to mate and give birth. We share food together; we eat shellfish off the same table - the reefs. They are our brothers and sisters in the ocean. When we die, it is with them we return, to the Morning Star”
“A long time ago, a great White Whale Spirit called Jiddara came down to Earth. He came from the stars to swim in the oceans of the infinite void of Earth as it then existed. As the Seven Sisters chased down after him, Jiddara dived into the vast blue depths of the ocean, thrashing his tail, and then rose to meet the new dawn. From this point on Jiddara created the Earth and the Sky, leaving the echoes of his Dreamtime journey imprinted in there at Whale Rock in South Australia. 2013 SPRING/AUTUMN EQUINOX By Laurie Baum
2013 SPRING EQUINOX (or AUTUMN equinox for the northern hemisphere) The Spring Equinox, the day when the light of day is equal to the dark of night, arrived on Sunday, September 22. The days leading up to the Equinox provided an auspicious opportunity to use affirmations, meditation, and prayer to focus on outcomes you wanted to create in the coming season. The power of the changing angle of the Sun intensifies the power of your thoughts, enabling you to make much spiritual, mental and material progress. It is a law of physics that light is most powerful when it bends, as it does at every Equinox and Solstice. Time to make progress in spheres of life that are important to you! The final months of 2013 will bring an intensification of extremes. In relationships, partners will assert their individuality and demand more freedom as they simultaneously try to exert greater control over their own lives and the lives of the people around them. In business, entrepreneurs will try to give less and take more. In government, authorities will try to exercise their muscle but try to take less responsibility. Public interest groups will fight the system with greater fervour. While their efforts are aimed at bringing a higher order, they will initially create more chaos. When you try to go right, electromagnetic forces may pull you to the left, nonetheless, as we are in a contradictory time where few things end up being as they appear on the surface. Get ready to experience the power of paradox. Here are some planetary highlights of the fall season: • October 21 - November 10 * Mercury Retrograde — Slow down, relax, rest, renew, re-evaluate. • November 1 * Uranus Retrograde in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn — 4th of 7 such line-ups between June 2012 and March 2015 — Stunning technological advances are introduced. Revelations of previously hidden information abound. Change eventually ensues. • November 3 * Solar Eclipse — Visible at sunrise from the Eastern United States and northern South America, Southern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. The eclipse will bring unexpected discoveries and revelations in human relationships, and will bring scientific discoveries about the relationship between the weather, Mother Earth, and human activities and thoughts. • December 12 * Jupiter Retrograde in Cancer trine Saturn in Scorpio — Governmental inaction gives way to action • December 17 * Jupiter Retrograde in Cancer sesquiquadrate Neptune in Pisces — Continue on your spiritual path despite internal resistance • December 21 * Venus Retrograde in Capricorn until January 31, 2014 — Connect with loved ones Much love & light, Laurie www.lauriebaum.com

Your Personal QUARTERLY forecast
By Laurie Baum
ARIES (March 21 – April 19)
GEMINI (May 21 – June 21)
You will feel energized under the influence of your planetary ruler, Mars, in the fire sign of Leo from August 27 to October 15. Use this time to complete projects you began at your last birthday. You are an expert at initiating projects, but may drop the ball once you feel the excitement is gone.
Your mind will be extraordinarily sharp under the influence of the communications planet Mercury in the precise sign of Virgo until early in the quarter. Use this time to complete projects you began at your last birthday. This is a testing phase for the validity of your creative ideas. If something does not appear to be easily flowing , you may consider taking an alternative route. The energy is amply available for pursuing a new line of thinking at this time.
Contemplate the value of the project for which you laid the groundwork. Try to apply the finishing touches so this endeavor will be of enduring value to yourself and others. A little perseverance will provide long-term benefits. The lunar eclipse in October will cause you to question your feelings in an important relationship. Trust your intuition. But also wait at least six weeks before making a final decision. You are in a paradoxical situation where your efforts to get organized may initially create greater chaos. By allowing time to pass, a state of natural order may easily arrange itself. Allow the dust to settle before impulsively taking action.
TAURUS (April 20 – May 20) Loving Venus in your opposing sign of Scorpio from in October will strengthen your ability to reach out to a previous opponent. Diplomatic solutions will serve you well under this planetary influence. These solutions will break an impasse that previously prevented you from moving forward to attain a precious goal. You may feel like asserting your power over an opponent but by experimenting with equitable solutions, you will achieve the success you seek. From December 21 to January 31, you will have another opportunity to review solutions to a longstanding stalemate. A solar eclipse in Scorpio on November 3 will help you get in touch with a buried aspect of your character. The solar eclipse will be visible at sunrise from the Eastern United States, northern South America, Southern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. This eclipse will bring you unexpected self-revelations. Once you connect with a deeper layer of your Self, you will understand your underlying motivations. From this, you will gain a greater ability to put yourself in the shoes of other people will be enhanced. Experiment with new ways of interacting with others. Your new level of empathy will soften opposition from others. You will have greater success with plans you have been trying to implement.
You then will be able to catch up on outstanding projects from October 21 to November 10, when Mercury, planet of communications, turns retrograde. Mercury retrogrades four times a year for three weeks at a time. During each retrograde, Mercury appears to move backward from the perspective of Earth due to the elliptical shape of its orbit. Under this influence, communications and commerce slow down, giving people a chance to catch up and relax, renew, reevaluate, and reconfigure their plans. This celestial phenomenon exerts the greatest influence on Gemini because you draw your greatest energy from the motion of the fast-moving planet Mercury. Commerce and communications that were tangled under Mercury retrograde will straighten out after the completion of the retrograde period on November 10.
CANCER (June 22 – July 22) Lucky Jupiter in Cancer until July 2014 will help you manifest your desires in your home and family relationships. This is a good time to clear your mind of past agendas and realistically use the resources in your present environment to create the living situation you desire. Many positive ideas will come to you during the late summer and early fall. Realistically consider the capacities of the people around you and transform a challenging situation into a blessing. You have the emotional tools to create positive circumstances in your life! Your most fortunate days in the coming season arrive under the influence of the Cancer Moon: October 23 to 25, November 20 to 22, and December 17 to 19. A lunar eclipse in October will prompt you to re-examine a traditional system you have relied upon. An innovative organizational plan will work better than an old routine. A situation arises at the solar eclipse on November 3 that will require you to state your feelings clearly to break through a previous impasse.
ISSUE 02 | NOVEMBER 2013
Your Personal QUARTERLY forecast...(cont) LEO (July 23 – August 22) The summer months are your time to shine as the days are longer and the sun is high in the sky. Like a plant, you move toward sunlight and thrive in its rays. Enjoy the waning days of summer by getting outside and absorbing the light of the sun. The positive energy that emanates from this star in the center of our solar system will brighten your attitude and increase your optimism. A solar eclipse on November 3 will shake up a routine that is no longer working for you. You have matured beyond the need to hold onto this old pattern. You may be habitually repeating this worn-out regimen without question. Introspect upon all of your habitual personal routines and schedules. You may find there is a new—and better—way of doing the same things. This could pertain to what you eat or when you eat it, what you wear or how you wear it, what you think — or even when you think it. Try a new color, a new haircut, a new food, or a positive attitude when you get stuck in a I-can’t-do-it mode. You will find out you can do more—much more—than you previously imagined!
VIRGO (August 23 – September 22) You will experience a positive 52-day period starting on the day of your next birthday. This is the perfect time to implement a new idea, enter a new relationship, start a new work project, or implement a new health regimen. You will feel energized and optimistic under this month’s planetary alignment of the Sun in Virgo and Mercury, the communications planet, in Virgo. You will feel in sync with others and as if people are receptive to the ideas you have to contribute. Your social status is enhanced under these celestial patterns. The Autumn Equinox represents the beginning of a new cycle for you, in which you will be able to manifest goals and ideas you have had in mind since your recent birthday. You have the greatest energy to tackle new projects for the first 7 weeks after your birthday. Use this time to dive into something you’re passionate about! Your greatest talents are in organizational work, writing, communications and networking, food preparation, cleaning, and in technical projects that require precision and accuracy.
LIBRA (September 23 – October 23) The passage of the love planet, Venus, through Libra, will fortify your loving nature and impart great joy to you when you give to others. The entrance of the communications planet, Mercury, into Libra will intensify your ability to clearly express yourself. You will receive hoped-for responses from others. The next two months will provide an advantageous opportunity to restore equality and balance to your relationships. You will have time to give to peole who need your assistance and you will be receptive to people who can give you what you need. Open your heart and hands to both giving and receiving. There is much positive benefits to the mutual exchange of energy with others in the coming months! A lunar eclipse in October will shine a spotlight on a relationship that you have outgrown. Be mindful of how much energy you continue to invest in this relationship even as you try to maintain peace and harmony with this person. You seem to have endless resources when it comes to meeting the needs of others. But be aware of the necessity of meeting your own needs. It’s important to replenish yourself so you have energy to give to others.
SCORPIO (October 24 – November 21) Your planetary ruler, Pluto, is highlighted this summer, bringing you into the limelight more often than you are accustomed. You will be asked to speak up for others. And in the process, you will be faced with the decision as to whether to delve deeply into matters and dig up the truth or gloss over the surface to preserve peace and harmony. The answer will depend upon whether you have the energy to expend in search of the ultimate verities— because once you start an excavation, circumstances may line up to engage you to extreme levels. In other words, choose your battles. There will be many areas needing your attention in the fall season. Assign your priorities and let everything else fall away. A solar eclipse in Scorpio on November 3 will take you in a new life direction. There is something in your life that has already served its useful purpose and is ready to fall away. It’s not easy to let go. But once you do, you will experience the birth of a new Self, revealing your infinite depths. Some people stay on the surface of life. But you enjoy living life to its fullest, with its highs and lows. These extremes help you draw on the depth of your life force, which is well-developed through a broad range of experiences. Until December 4 you will be able to express something profound that you have kept hidden inside yourself.
SAGE magazine
Your Personal QUARTERLY forecast...(cont) SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21) Like Scorpio, you may find yourself drawn into many quests for truth during the autumn season. Arrange your priorities so you can take care of the most important things first. You can only do so much at any one time. While you are not someone who turns away opportunities, you must choose the opportunities for which you are best suited. This is a time when you may create unintended consequences from well-meaning actions. So, think through your plans in advance and proceed with caution until you are certain that you are receiving the response you have in mind. When you are sure circumstances are lining up in support of your vision, then push forward with your plans. If circumstances provide resistance, then it’s a signal that it is time to back off and pursue another avenue. Venus in Sagittarius from October 7 to November 5 will open your heart and enable you to give even more to others than you already give. Your accustomed generosity and good will always bring positive energy to you. The passage of Venus through Sagittarius will give you ample opportunity to gain good karma when you contribute to others’ well being. The more you give, the more you will receive in return.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19) When facing a choice between following traditional rules and blazing a new path, seek a middle ground between both extremes. You are in a period that will polarize you to either overly vigilant action to impose rigid requirements on yourself and others or to relax your normal standards to the point that anything is acceptable. Practice even-handedness and avoid excess. If you exercise heavy-handed authority, your authoritative moves will boomerang back to you. But if you ignore the rules, disorder will ensue, and you won’t be happy with the resulting confusion.
AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18) The way is clear for you to express an unusual idea to a large group of your friends or acquaintances. You may be pulled into a public role. Consider whether you truly desire to be in a leadership position before you step into the spotlight. If you would prefer to remain anonymous, write your ideas in a forum where you won’t be identified or ask another person to present your ideas for you. You have much of value to say, but it is not clear that your physical presence is needed for your ideas to be heard. You may have more important things to do. So, consider carefully whether to take a private or public role. Either way, your ideas are of value. You have been contemplating a course correction for many months. This is a good time to take positive action. When Uranus opposes energetic Mars on Christmas Day, you will experience another unexpected change. If you, or people around you, suddenly reverse direction, the new course will prove to be beneficial for you. Even though the modification may be challenging, if you approach the situation with your usual equanimity, you will learn much about your inner strength during the months ahead.
PISCES (February 19 – March 20) As a sensitive water sign, you may feel more emotional than usual under a line-up of Jupiter (luck), Saturn (discipline), and Neptune (spirituality) in the water signs of Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. While the effects of this planetary alignment are subtle, you may feel excessively reactive to feelings in yourself or others. You may experience a more-active-than-normal dream life. Or you may feel a strong desire to escape the responsibilities of everyday reality. These are normal reactions to the pressure of the watery realms on your sensitive psyche.
Balance and moderation are the keys to your happiness. Lucky Jupiter in your opposing sign of Cancer will bring new people and experiences into your life during the next year. It’s a good time to travel. But even if you stay close to home, good fortune will find you. Loving Venus will be in Capricorn for an extended period, fromNovember 5 to March 5, 2014.
Protect yourself by arranging extra time for solitude, reflection, meditation, deep breathing, and contemplation. Warm baths and soft music also are an excellent anti-dote to the emotional stress you may be feeling. The autumn season also will help you deepen your understanding of a spiritual philosophy. This is a good time to delve into books you’ve had sitting on your shelf (or on you iPad) and take some quiet time to absorb a new view of the world. Quiet music in the background will help you best absorb this new perspective on life.
This celestial transit will bring the cooperation of many people who will feel tremendous admiration of and respect for your gifts and talents. Venus will be retrograde in Capricorn from December 21, 2013 to January 31, 2014, and will bring someone from your past back into your life.
Do yoga or stretching exercises to feel grounded if your mind becomes too diffused or expanded. Or experiment with meditation to channel the spiritual energy you are experiencing through the higher energy centers in your body.
