autumn 2016 Box Office 01722 321744 salisburyartscentre.co.uk
Hello Although autumn is on its way, we plan to keep you warm and entertained as the evenings draw in. We are really looking forward to having some fun at our new comedy festival in early December, kindly supported by the Salisbury Journal. We are pleased to be working more closely with businesses and the local community and to be partnering with Salisbury BID to present Arts in the Square over the coming months. At Salisbury Arts Centre we want to continue to provide you with as diverse and interesting a programme as we can, whilst continuing to ensure financial sustainability in a climate of funding cuts. We have been looking at all aspects of our operation to reduce our costs and diversify our income streams. For example, it costs us £5,000 a year in bank charges to process ticket sales before we take into account the £4,500 we spend on software licensing, £600 we spend on the tickets themselves and our box office staffing costs. Therefore, in line with most other UK venues, we have made the decision to introduce a transaction charge from September of £1 per transaction, which will help us to recoup some of these costs. This will apply to all ticket transactions on the website, at the box office and by phone. However, you may book as many tickets as you like per transaction. Thank you for your understanding. We did not take the decision lightly but felt it was better to do this than to reduce the range of programme and activities on offer. We look forward to giving you a warm welcome at Salisbury Arts Centre this season. 2

COMEDY Tape Face has to be seen to be believed. So what does he do exactly? Well, simply mentioning any aspect of this diverse show would be a disservice – the less you know the more you will enjoy it. Tape Face is a character with universal appeal. Delightful, wry, many-layered and hilarious, he transcends the barriers of language and culture. You’ll laugh, you’ll scream and ultimately end up like Tape Face – lost for words.
