This warranty policy is valid as of December 2nd 2015.

I. LIMITED WARRANTY SALOMON provides this warranty to consumers who purchased SALOMON product (Product(s)) from SALOMON or one of it authorized retailers. SALOMON warrants all new Products to be free from manufacturing or material defects (Defects) for the Warranty Period as defined below. This warranty applies only against Defects discovered within the Warranty Period and extends only to the original purchaser of the Product. SALOMON Products meet their description and specifications; it is your responsibility to ensure that the Products you purchase are designed for your intended use. This warranty is valid and enforceable only in the country where the Product was purchased by the original purchaser, provided that SALOMON has intended that the Product be offered for sale in that country. This warranty is also enforceable in any country within European Economic Area where SALOMON has an authorized importer, subsidiary or distributor. Please refer to the SALOMON authorized retailers list. Depending on the country, particular and variable warranties may apply in relation to applicable legislation. Nothing in this warranty policy can exclude or limit these statutory provisions. WARRANTY PERIOD The Warranty Period starts on the date of the retail purchase of the Product by the original purchaser. The Product may consist of several different parts and different parts may be covered by different Warranty Periods (please refer to the Warranty Periods below for all warranties that may apply to your Product).

The Warranty Periods are: a. Five (5) years for alpine ski bindings originally purchased prior to October 1, 2011 b. Three (3) years for winter sports trousers and jackets c. Two (2) years for all other Products To the extent permitted by national laws, the Warranty Period will not be extended, renewed or otherwise affected due to subsequent resale, repair or replacement of the Product. However, part(s) repaired or replacement Product(s) issued during the Warranty Period will be warranted for the reminder of the original Warranty Period only; provided, such replacement or repair has been performed by SALOMON or an authorized SALOMON retailer. Depending on the country, particular and variable Warranties Periods may apply in relation to applicable legislation. Nothing in this warranty policy can exclude or limit such legislation.

II. C ONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS This Limited warranty: does not cover: a. Normal wear and tear of the Product b. Defects caused by the Transportation or storage of the Product c. Defects or damage caused by improper use or poor maintenance d. Damages due to non observance of the instructions of the products owner manual e. Damages due to the modifications of the Product f. Any impact caused by sharp or hard items or objects, due to torsion, compression, a fall, an abnormal impact or other actions not under SALOMON’s reasonable control. This limited warranty is not enforceable if: a. The Product has been modified or repaired by any person or entity other than SALOMON or an authorized SALOMON retailer; b. The Product has been repaired with unauthorized spare parts c. The Product serial number has been removed, deleted, altered or made illegible.

III. W ARRANTY ENFORCEMENT SALOMON or its authorized retailer shall at its sole discretion either (a) repair the Product or (b) replace the Product at no charge. The appropriate remedy will be determined by SALOMON based upon the following considerations: (a) the value of the Product with no Defect, (b) the significance of the Defect, and the inconvenience each remedy would place on the original purchaser. SALOMON agrees that all repair or replacement of the Product will occur within a reasonable period For all warranty claims, please submit the Product and the proof of purchase to the nearest authorized SALOMON retailer or in the event you purchased the Product on SALOMON Online Store, please contact Customer Service. BOARDS We carefully choose the materials and structures of our bases to ensure their unique gliding and long lasting qualities for every type of snow condition.

A. MAINTENANCE The tune-up involves three steps: 1. Check-up: after every day of riding 2. Hand tuning 3. Machine tuning

1. CHECK-UP - Visually examine the condition of the edges. - Remove any traces of rust (lubricated ScotchBrite® or equivalent). - If necessary, sharpen and polish edges with a file. Sharpening the side of the edges can be done with a 90° file guide. - Remove any burrs on the entire length of the edge with a wet stone or soft stone. - After several days of use, the base may become slightly white. This is just an indication the base is beginning to dry out and, thus, needs to be waxed. We recommend hot waxing (which offers better performance than cold waxing). Using XF4 wax also gives good results.

2. HAND TUNING We highly recommend that you follow these types of operations.

2.1 Board check-up Check the condition of the edges and base, and determine what repairs are needed.

2.2 Smoothing out the base If damage is only minor, use a file, metal scraper or cutter blade to tune.

2.3 Edge sharpening - Sharpen base edges - Sharpen side edges using a file guide (make sure the edges are at 90°). A well-tuned board always has sharper edges at the waist than at the extremities.

2.4 Polishing the edges

- Polish the edges with a whetstone. - Remove any burrs with the stone by going over the board first flat and then on the side. It is easier to use a 90° file guide.

2.5 Filling the holes in the base - Scrape with a blade, removing any roughness, burr or plastic protrusion. - Fill in with a P-tex gun, let dry and scrape off any excess by hand (see paragraph 2.2). - This operation should be done preferably by hand. - If the binding has been mounted with a screw that is too long and has created a dimple in the base, it is possible to eliminate it by pushing on it with a small, smooth cylinder or block (fig. B1). Reminder: This type of defect is not covered by the warranty.

2.6 Waxing, scraping and brushing a. Waxing It is best to use hot wax. - Clean the base with wax remover. - Make sure the iron is at the proper temperature to melt the wax (temperature 100 °C +/- 5 °C or 230 °F +/- 10 °F). Caution: make sure you don’t keep the iron in the same place without moving. - Choose a wax according to the manufacturer's recommendations. - Spread the wax on the base. - Move to another area as soon as the wax is spread out. - Let it cool down to room temperature. b. Scraping (photo B2) Remove excess wax with a plastic scraper, scraping from the nose toward the tail (remove excess wax on edges). c. Brushing (photo B3) Brush with a nylon brush (or another brush depending on the structure desired) from the nose to the tail. A rotary brush removes excess wax in the base structure for better glide. d. Final buffing Rub the entire surface of the base with a soft cloth. Note: the boards can be waxed only (no scraping or brushing) if they are being stored for a long period of time ; at the end of the season, for example. This protects the base and keeps it from drying out. The board should, however, be scraped and brushed just before it is to be ridden again.

3.1 Tuning the base and edges (base side) › RECOMMENDATIONS: - Visually examine the board to determine what needs to be done. Only use a machine if the base is badly damaged. If not, hand-tune the base. - For machine tuning, refer to the manufacturer’s recommendations. NOTE: › For scratches < 0.2 mm in depth: machine tuning is possible. › Scratches > 0.2 mm in depth: need to be filled in. - Remove all traces of wax or grease with wax remover only (never use a solvent!). - Be careful not to whiten the base. - Try to get consistent tuning on the entire surface of the board starting from the surface smoothing phase. Do not hesitate to wedge the top of the board with adhesive tape: wedge the side areas if only the middle section of the base is being tuned during the first run (the board tends to become concave) and the contrary. - The tuning phases should be adapted according to the original condition of the base, as well as the number of passes per board (make sure you don’t exceed 4 or 5 passes for smoothing the surface and semi-finishing phases, and 2 passes for the finishing phase). - Low molecular weight bases (< 2000) are difficult to stone grind. To be able to avoid the errors mentioned above, refer to the parameters recommended in the following chart for structuring your board. Choose the chart that corresponds to your machine. The board mounted with Speedfit bindings can be tuned in the tuning machine with a special Speedfit disk ramp. › Procedure: a. Smoothing the surface - Get a flat surface by smoothing the entire surface of the board. - Remove any excess polyethylene on the base with a scraper to avoid clogging up the stone during the last steps. b. Semi-finishing - Tune with the stone or belt grinder until the surface has a consistent aspect and the edges are shiny. - With a belt grinder: If the belt is new, start with little pressure. Then increase the pressure gradually depending on the wear and tear of the belt (see chart above). Note: After mounting a new belt, it is important to first break the grit by running a metal scraper by hand on the belt while it is turning. - With a stone grinder: Dress frequently to compensate for wear and tear of the stone (frequency of dressing - see chart above).

c. Finish - On a belt grinder: Tune to obtain a slight base structure (use 150 grit). - On a stone grinder: Our line offers bases with different types of structures. It is recommended to use a stone grinder to get a quality structure: 1. Continuous base structure (cold snow): • dresser speed: slow, • dressing back & forth: about 1 mn 30", • stone speed while dressing: 1000 tr/mn. 2. “Uneven” base structure: a. variable snow: • dressing back & forth: 1 mn, • stone speed while dressing: 1000 tr/mn, b. wet snow: • the dresser speed should be different (from 6-8 % approximately) between the forward and backward passes (faster backwards). • the depth of the penetration of the dresser will determine the depth of the structure. It’s better to have a deeper structure for wet snow. • it is possible to vary the type of structure by modifying the rotation speed of the stone. NOTE: Always do this last phase in the direction of the glide (nose to tail). If there are persistent marks (longitudinal scratches like “orange peels”, fuzz): - Check the wear and tear of the belt or the stone and dressing.

- Check the lubrication: making sure the hose is not blocked and is properly directed towards the grinding surface. These two main errors can overheat the base, which can reduce the quality of the glide. Regarding the parameters of the machine, consult the machine manufacturer and refer to their data.

3.2 Finishing the edges (sides) Use a side tuning machine with an abrasive belt, 80 or 100 grit (Reichman, Skid, Wintersteiger, Montana, etc.). › Some recommendations: - Visually inspect the side of the edges to decide which operations need to be performed. - Make sure the entire length of the edge is tuned. - After tuning, make sure you remove any burrs by hand with sand paper, ScotchBrite® or whetstone. - For additional information, please refer to the hand tuning section of this manual (see paragraph “Hand tuning”).

4. CLEANING THE BOARD - Never use pressurized hot water or pressurized chemical agents. - After every day of use, clean the board with a soft cloth. - Top of the board: soap and water (no solvents or any abrasive products). - Base: traditional wax remover.

B. REPAIRING THE BOARD

1. REGLUING THE TOP SURFACE OF THE BOARD - Remove any dirt and make sure the entire area is dry. - Glue with Loctite® 406 or 480 preferably. - Tighten with a clamp and use mold release paper and foam wedges to follow the shape of the board, especially on the sidewalls. Note: If gluing with epoxy, sand and clean the surface before gluing.

2. REPAIRING THE SIDE WALL OF THE BOARD 1. Insert a screw driver between the ABS and the edge and twist it, carefully creating a space (photo C1). 2. Place two metal (or wood) supports on the work bench and rest the board on them, base down. Position the supports on either side of the damaged area. Use “C” clamps to secure the board (fig 2) and gently hammer the edge back into place, using a small hammer and a screw driver (photos C2 & C3). 3. Use a bi-component epoxy to fill the opening between the ABS and the edge (you can heat it up a little bit if you want a more liquid solution). For better impregnation, heat the base and the edge up with hot air gun (photo C4). Be careful not to over-heat! 4. Now, cover the repair with a piece of a heat resistant plastic film and support it on both sides with metal plates before clamping (photo C5). 5. Allow to set at least one hour before removing clamps. Clean and tune edge as required. 6. If the ABS requires additional repair, replace the damaged portion with new ABS material or use colored bi-component epoxy. NB: For epoxy bi-component refer to § “Materials needed”.

4. EDGE REPAIR Bent or detached edge 1. Verify that the edge can be repaired (photo C6). 2. Cut damaged base with base die along affected area. Remove cut-out (photo C7). 3. Using the base die, cut a new piece of base material the same size as well as a fiberglass piece if the one in the board is broken (see Salomon Spare parts catalog). 4. Tap deformed edge section into place with a hammer (and pin punch, if necessary). Do not hammer directly on the board. Use a wooden wedge (photo C8). 5. Apply epoxy to affected area and place a piece of dry fiberglass into position. Only use fibreglass if the original fiberglass has been broken or damaged. Add a layer of epoxy and heat slightly with heat gun. 6. Insert the piece of new base material upside down into cut-out area, with rough side facing up. 7. Place the board in the repair press with the mold release or use several clamps to hold the repair in place (photo C9). 8. When the epoxy has cured, smooth down the repaired area with plane or file. 9. Tune and wax the board.

3.2 Deep cuts

- Cut out the damaged area with the base patch die. - Cut a piece of the base material with the base patch die. - Glue it into the damaged area. - Hold it in place with a clamp and press repair (glue the pieces with Loctite® 406 or slow Araldite®). - Proceed with machine tuning.

5. REPLACING EDGES Materials: Salomon edges and Salomon base. Repair process: 1. Verify that the board can be repaired (photo E1). 2. C ut out the base where the edge must be changed (photo E2) (10 mm beyond) with the base patch die or cutter (in this case, make a reproducible cut-out). 3. Cut each side of the edge at a 45° angle (photo E3). 4. Cut out the edge carefully with cutter or wood chisel, then roughen the area with 80 grit sandpaper. Clean it and remove the grease. 5. Cut the new edge, trim it and remove the grease. 6. Apply epoxy to affected area under the edge and in contact with the core. 7. Position the new edge so that it is an extension of the original edge. 8. Put a piece of dry fiberglass in place over the teeth of the new edge piece and coat with epoxy. 9. Insert the piece of new base material upside down into cut-out area, with rough side facing up. 10. Place the board in the repair press with the mold release paper or use several clamps to hold the repair in position (see photo E4). 11. When the epoxy has cured, smooth down the repaired area with plane or file. 12. Tune and wax the board.

6. REPLACING THE INSERTS 6.1 Impossible to unscrew a screw (stripped screw head) a. First option: - Remove the three other screws in the binding. - Turn the binding around the screw in order to unscrew it.  - Slant the binding to increase the grip between the screw and binding. b. Second option (if the first solution did not work): - Drill the screw head off with an 8 mm diameter drill bit. - Remove the binding. - Unscrew the screw with vice clamps.

7. EDGE TUNING

BINDINGS A. MOUNTING OUR BINDINGS 2. RECOMMENDATIONS - TIPS

1. RECOMMENDATIONS › A ll screws aren’t identical and bindings don’t have the same thickness. Inappropriate screws can cause damage to the board or risk to the rider. When in doubt, contact the board manufacturer or your Salomon subsidiary. › Make sure the inserts are clean and unblocked. › Tighten each screw firmly, using PZ3 screwdriver for rental binding or PH3 screwdriver for standard range (fig. F1). The recommended torque is about 4 Nm for all binding screws and the toe adjustment if there is only one central screw. › Make sure the screws are tight before each ride. › Do not use Loctite® or any type of glue on the mounting screws. This could damage the bindings and be a risk to the rider.

a. Ankle strap length adjustment: CAUTION: If the ankle strap length adjustment knob is too tight, it will be difficult to loosen afterwards. An adjustment that is too tight can be released by bending the plastic strap away from the adjustment knob. This will allow the knob to turn more easily (fig. G1).

b. Do not forget to... › Give the in-box instructions to the customer › Attach the leash on the rental binding. › Clean and remove any grease from the board before gluing the stomp pads on (do not use any abrasive solvents). c. B. MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS MAINTENANCE ON RENTAL BINDINGS The maintenance should consist of a complete inspection of the entire rental operation at the beginning of each season, occasional checks during the season and a review at the end of the season to ensure that everything functions properly. RECOMMENDATIONS: - Remove the bindings from the boards for storage - Store the product in a cool, ventilated, dry area. - If a part is missing, it has to be replaced with an equivalent Salomon part. Refer to your Salomon Spare Parts catalogue.

We advise to use Salomon grease ref 9050001 but standard grease for water condition works as well.

Lubrication will protect from excessive wear caused by friction, keeps rust and corrosion from attacking exposed metal components. IMPORTANT: > Never wash the binding with hot or pressurized water. > Never use solvents or detergents, that could attack the structure of the plastic and cause permanent damage by dangerously modifying the technical characteristics of the product. Tongue: (only "Full custom Fit") Heat moldable internal side for precision and comfort. b. Around the anklebones: for an ideal anatomic adaptation regardless of the size and shape of your foot. c. Around the Achilles' tendon: for perfect heelhold (the heel cup is not heat moldable). › Specific insole is resistant to heat.

2. THERMOFORMING MACHINE Before using the machine for the first time, return the guarantee card to either your sales rep or Customer Service Representative. Follow the instructions for the thermoforming machine closely and pay particular attention to the rules on safety. Please do not take matters into your own hands. Should you have problems with this machine, contact a Salomon Service Representative immediately. This machine is for exclusive use with Salomon CUSTOM FIT liners. Any other use is forbidden. Important: Any insoles used other than the ones received in the boots at the time of purchase should be removed before the heating procedure begins. Re-install them after heating to mold the liners.

› P reparation and starting the machine: please refer to the machine’s in-box instructions. › Putting the boot on: a. Make sure the customer is wearing Salomon wool socks for snowboarding or socks made of at least 40% wool (other socks could cause skin irritation or overheating). b. Immediately after heating, remove the boots from the machine and close the hood. c. Loosen the laces and put the boot on. The boots must be put on immediately following the end of the 15 mn heating period. d. Tighten the laces, but not excessively, making sure the tongue is in the proper position. e. Wait at least 10 mn in a riding position while the boots are cooling down. f. Take off the boots without pushing too hard.

Thermoforming machine

› Recommendations: - W hile tightening the laces (after the heating process), push back with your heel to make a good impression of the heel and anklebones. - To optimize the results of the thermoforming process, bend your ankle in the boot during the cooling process as if you are riding. - For additional personalization, attach the boot in your binding. Attaching the straps around the boot prevents pressure points and helps to obtain a consistent fit.

- Wait 30 mn before riding with the boots to allow for complete stabilization of the thermoformed liner. - It is recommended that no liner be thermofor­med more than 3 times. - When putting the Salomon boots on, make sure you don't pull too hard on the external laces, which could block the blood circulation, causing sensations of cold and unusual pain...

MAINTENANCE 1. CLEANING THE BOOTS AND LINERS For cleaning, especially in rental operations, it is prohibited to use chemical products, hot water or pressurized water. Wash the surface with warm or cold soapy water. The solvents could cause damage to the structure of the waterproofed materials, and cause perma­ nent damage by modifying the technical features of the product. The markings could also be erased. Wash the surface with warm or cold soapy water. For drying the inside of the boots, it is prohibited to use air warmer than 40 °C, and the heat should be turned off once the liners are dry.

2. MACHINE WASHING THE LINERS Possible on these models: LO FI - All Ivy - All Launch - All Dialogue - All HI FI - All Synapse - All Kiana - Lush - All Faction Rental - Malamute - Trek S/Lab. Recommendations: a. wash the pair of liners and insoles separate from other clothes, b. wash liners 2 - 3 times per year, c. tie the Quicklace laces around the bottom of the upper. Washing recommendations: a. do not dry clean, b. machine wash in warm water (30 °C) - gentle cycle, c. use a gentle washing product, d. d o not use any type of bleach, detergent, solvent or softener, e. remove the insole for drying, f. air-dry or dry in dryer using a gentle cycle, g. do not dry in micro-wave oven, h. do not iron.

3. WATERPROOFING

BOOTS

It is recommended to treat the exterior of your boots with a waterproof spray on a regular basis. Recommended product: Silicone spray by Swix CAO or specific product for maintaining nubuck leathers such as Nickwax®. Frequency: Every three of four days of riding.

4. REGULAR MAINTENANCE - Make sure that the inside of the boot is fully dry before storing. Eventually let the footbed dry separately. - Brush the outside of the boot after it dries. - Wash the surface with warm or cold soapy water.

REPAIRS For all serious defects, contact the Salomon customer service department in your country, which will: - make the necessary repairs, - or provide a replacement. In the case of a minor problem, contact your local

shoe repair shop who should be able to help you very quickly. Lacing systems: for any question about lacing system repair, please refer your home subsidiary for further explanation.
