Module Title:

Learning Outcomes:

BRIEF TITLE: Jessie Leong Promotional Publication Brief: Produce 10 copies, plus copy for self, of a promotional portfolio book to be posted to potential employers and studios, for recent photography graduate Jessie Leong. The main aim is to make Jessie stand out from the many other recent photography graduates and showcase a taster of her work in a professional manner. The book must showcase Jessie’s photography and skill set along with personality. The design must work with the existing brand. A creative CV will also need to be included and packaging needs to be produced to post the books.

Background: Jessie is a recent fashion Leeds College of Art photography graduate. Her branding was completed last year and whilst happy with this and her website, Jessie wants a physical piece of promotion to send to clients. The publication needs to work within the existing brand. Jessie’s photography is largely focussed on fashion and working with an oriental theme.

Considerations: The publication needs to be posted, think about a postage method that will work with the publication. Also consider protection for the publication in postage process. Consider print finishes and format. How can the publication be made to stand out from other photography publications? Ensure the publication conveys both Jessie’s professional practice but also her personality.

Mandatory Requirements: 10 Copies must be produced to give to Jessie, and one for self. Design boards to show the full development and resolution of the brief.

Target Audience: Photography studios, potential employers of Jessie Leong.

Tone of Voice: Professional whilst still conveying personality.
