celebrities

everyone’s talking about...

KATE SPLITS FROM ‘PARTY LOVING’ TOYBOY Kate Moss has called time on her relationship with Nikolai Von Bismarck after a series of rows about his wild party lifestyle. The 42-year-old supermodel, who isn’t averse to a bit of partying herself, said the latest argument was the final straw as the 29-year-old Count refuses to settle down and is out partying up to 5 times a week. Kate started dating Nikolai last year after splitting with her husband of 5 years, Kills frontman Jamie Hince. Singleton Kate has a 10-year-old daughter Lila Grace with ex Jefferson Hack.

HOLDING OUT FOR A HERO

Hollywood hardman Russell Crowe threw disgruntled rapper Azealia Banks out of his party for threatening to attack another female guest with a wine glass. Gladiator star Crowe stepped in (at his own party!) in his Beverley Hills hotel suite and had to physically remove Azealia before things got nasty. The police were called and the wannabe rapper removed from the premises. Hotel party organiser and all round hero Crowe – we salute you!

ASHTON & MILA HAVING A BOY

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis have revealed they are expecting a baby boy next year. Ashton let the news slip on the ‘Live TV’ show and almost got in bigger trouble by revealing the name, which the couple have chosen already. Luckily when he whispered into host Kelly Ripa’s ear the name of the baby the producers silenced his mike. “Thank God, Mila would have murdered me!” Ashton said. Ashton and Mila first met playing boyfriend and girlfriend on the set of That 70’s Show when they were teenagers. They started dating in 2012 and told the knot last year shortly after the birth of daughter Wyatt.

news ROBERT DE NIRO SLAMS TRUMP

Acting legend Robert De Niro has slated Republican candidate Donald Trump with the most damning attack on the presidential hopeful…including a threat to punch him in the face. “I mean, he's so blatantly stupid. He's a punk. He's a dog. He's a pig. He's a con, a bulls*** artist. A mutt who doesn't know what he's talking about,' De Niro said obviously no holds barred. As the minute-long clip continues, De Niro continues to hurl insults at the billionaire businessman. “He doesn't do his homework, doesn't care. He thinks he's gaming society. He doesn't pay his taxes. He's an idiot. Colin Powell said it best, he's a national disaster. He's an embarrassment to this country. It makes me so angry that this country has gotten to this point, that this fool, this bozo has wound up where he has,” De Niro continued. At one stage he even said he wanted to punch Trump in the face. De Niro was filming the political testimony video for a nonpartisan group called #VoteYourFuture. The video has since gone viral and at time of going to press had racked up 7m hits on You Tube alone.

LITTLE MIX STRIPPER SLUR

Girl group Little Mix have outraged fans by appearing on stage for their latest ‘X Factor’ appearance wearing what looked like latex swimming costumes, with their bums hanging out. Fans took to social media to tell the girls to cover up as they described them looking like a “bunch of strippers” or “prostitutes.” Former Spice Girl Mel C said she won’t let her 7-year-old daughter watch the girl group anymore due to their risqué wardrobe choices. The once covered up, demure stars have really been raunching it up of late. Perhaps mainly to do with Perrie’s “Shoutout to my Ex” single debut helping to hit former fiancé Zayn Malik where it hurts! Jessie even admitted during a very revealing aftershow interview with presenter Dermot O Leary that she had to tape herself into her outfit – obviously not that well as it still ended showing more than 90% of her bum cheeks to 6.5m ITV viewers.

GERI PREGNANT

Geri Halliwell has announced she is expecting a baby with new husband F1 ace Christian Horner. Geri, aged 44, took to Twitter to cryptically reveal “God Bless Mother Nature #mamaspice.” Geri already has a daughter Bluebell Madonna, aged 10, with ex Sacha Gervasi.

CHRISTMAS DINNER PARCEL A great alternative to a full Christmas dinner from the BBC Good Food Guide. Wrap turkey breast, sausagemeat and cranberry sauce in streaky bacon to make an all-in-one main course that's guaranteed to impress your dinner guests. INGREDIENTS • Drizzle of vegetable oil, plus extra for greasing • 1 onion chopped • 24 rashers smoked streaky bacon • 2 tbsp fresh breadcrumbs • 400g pack sausages (we used pork & leek), meat squeezed from the skins • 8 sage leaves, chopped, plus a few small leaves to serve • 250g cranberry sauce • 450g turkey breast steaks METHOD 1. Heat a drizzle of oil in a frying pan, and use a little more to grease a 900g loaf tin. Put the onion in the pan and cook gently for 10-15 mins until caramelised. Tip into a large bowl and set aside to cool. Line the loaf tin with a double strip of foil, leaving plenty overhanging either end (you can use this as a handle to remove the parcel once cooked). 2. Stretch each piece of bacon a little with the back of your knife. Arrange the rashers so the base of the tin is covered with overlapping bacon and the rashers come neatly up

the sides in a single layer, overhanging generously. Sprinkle the breadcrumbs on top of the bacon. 3. Once the onion has cooled, add the sausagemeat and sage to the bowl. Mix everything together, then pack half the mixture into the tin. Spread over about a third of the cranberry sauce. 4. Cut each turkey breast steak into three strips. Layer roughly half the turkey on top of the stuffing mix, filling any gaps like a jigsaw, but keeping the turkey in one thick layer, then season. Spread over a little more cranberry sauce, then top with the remaining stuffing, cranberry sauce and turkey in the same way, making sure there are no gaps between the layers. The parcel should be full to the top when you’re finished. Fold over the overhanging bacon and wrap the tin in foil. Can now be chilled for up to 2 days. 5. Heat oven to 180C/160C fan/gas 4. Put the tin on a baking tray and cook for 1 hr 30 mins. Remove the tin from the oven and leave to cool for 10 mins. Carefully lift the

parcel out of the tin, using the foil handles. Roll the parcel over onto a baking tray. Return to the oven for a further 15-20 mins until the outside is crisp and browning. Test the internal temperature with a thermometer, if you have one – it should read 75C when it’s ready. Or insert a metal skewer into the centre of the parcel and check it is piping hot. Cover loosely with foil and leave to rest for at least 15 mins before serving. Top with the reserved sage leaves, then slice.

We all like a bit of bubbly at Christmas! Champagne or sparkling wine pairs remarkably well with festive dishes from turkey to cranberry sauce to stuffing. Brut is the driest of sparkling wine classifications with no perceptible sweetness. Rosé-style sparkling wines are slightly sweeter and also good choices. However, our top sparkling wine pick would be a dry sparkling Shiraz or on the upper end of the scale a Laurent Perrier Rose will do the trick nicely. If you want to stick with wine you could go for a Cabernet Franc, a Chardonnay with low or no oak or a dry Riesling. Beaujolais Grand Cru, Beaujolais Nouveau, Merlot, Pinot Noir or a fruity Zinfandel are also excellent choices that will bring out the turkey and cranberry flavours nicely.

DOCTOR STRANGE

EMILI SANDE: LONG LIVE THE ANGELS

MARISSA MEYER: HEARTLESS

Marvel Studios, behind hit franchises X-Men and SpiderMan, are back with a new sci-fi, superhero movie that will entertain both children and adults alike. Oscar nominated British actor Benedict Cumberbatch plays the lead as Doctor Strange, a pioneering although arrogant neurosurgeon who loses his hands and ability to operate following a terrible accident. Feeling hopeless and despondent, Dr. Strange seeks advice from a mystical being known as the Ancient One (played by Tilda Swinton) and discovers he is the newly designated Sorcerer Supreme responsible for protecting the planet from evil. Together the Doctor and his girlfriend set out to fulfil his destiny. The film, also starring Rachel McAdams, is hotly tipped to fill the number 1 spot this Christmas season with performances by Cumberbatch and Swinton said to be “mesmerising.” Directed by horror creator Scott Derrickson behind Sinister and Deliver Us From Evil, Doctor Strange - adapted from the comic book of the same name is set for release in theatres on November 4. After all of Marvel´s hype on this one it looks like Doctor Strange is going to be one hell of a mind twister. Enjoy!

The long-awaited second studio album from Brit recording artist Emili Sande is scheduled for release on November 11. The RnB singer has had a break from recording for 4 years following the success of her 2012 debut album “Our Version of Events” which featured the charttopping single “Next To Me”. Sande has been working on the 15-track album in New York, LA and London for the past 2 years and released lead single “Hurts” from the album in September 2016 to critical acclaim. The album is heavily influenced by Sande´s Zambian background, with the track “Tenderly” featuring both her father and cousin on vocals. “This entire album is about me not holding back and not censoring myself, and ‘Hurts’ is an explosion, it’s just…real talk,” Sande said. The multi Brit Award winner has also admitted to suffering from exhaustion in the past, explaining her disappearance from the music industry: “Sounds a bit dramatic but I just wanted to disappear. I just had this overwhelming sensation and realisation everything had to stop, and then slowly it did.” Well it definitely sounds like she´s back with a bang and we can´t wait to add this to our iTunes playlist.

Alice in Wonderland meets Bridget Jones in this compelling read from Marissa Meyer, the New York Times best-selling author of hits The Lunar Chronicles, Crest and Cinder. The story is based as a prequel to the classic Queen of Hearts character in Lewis Carol´s infamous Alice in Wonderland novel. Long before she was the terror of Wonderland, the Queen of Hearts, she was just a girl who wanted to fall in love. Catherine may be one of the most desired girls in Wonderland, and a favorite of the yet-unmarried King of Hearts, but her interests lie elsewhere. A talented baker, all she wants is to open a shop with her best friend and supply the Kingdom of Hearts. But according to her mother, such a goal is unthinkable for the young woman who could be the next Queen. At a royal ball she meets Jest, the handsome and mysterious court joker. For the first time, she feels the pull of true attraction. At the risk of offending the King and infuriating her parents, she and Jest enter into an intense, secret courtship. Cath is determined to define her own destiny and fall in love on her terms. But in a land thriving with magic, madness, and monsters, fate has other plans.

NETWORKING WITH J-BIZ LOUNGE The myths, the fears and mistakes of the oldest, most cost effective and powerful way to do business. Face to face. The J-Biz Lounge, with its roots in Jeffrey's Bay / South Africa, was founded in 2009 by Derek Barber, who is the managing director. Derek is a globetrotter, serial entrepreneur, and brings over a decade of expertise in the event, hospitality and catering industry to the table. He has become a passionate full time networking ambassador and relationship builder with an impressively growing global network far beyond South Africa's boarders. Derek, a master visionary, has run his operations from Malaga/Spain since 2014. WHY SHOULD I NETWORK? Research has shown that being social and connecting with others is as fundamental as the human need for food, shelter and water. In order to grow your net worth you need to grow your network. Rubbing shoulders with like-minded people will inspire you, keep you up to date with trends and competitors,

28 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 26

but most of all while talking with others about your business (when required) it will remind you of your original vision, your passion and why you have chosen to become an entrepreneur. You will learn, you will make many mistakes, but as with everything in life, with practice, you will find yourself feeling more confident and comfortable in these often unknown environments surrounded by strangers. You might even start enjoying the mingling, become a relationship expert and master connector and the guy/girl everyone wants to meet. Every big business starts with small talk - if you have reached a plateau in your business one solution would be to grow your network and improve your face to face business skills. If people like you they listen, if they trust you, they do business with you. Needless to say this is a process and will not be archived in a 10 minute chat behind the buffet or at a speed networking event (I personally find it nothing more than entertaining!) COMMON MISTAKES It all starts with the wrong expectations, followed by disappointments. A networking event is not a tradeshow, it’s not a competition of gathering as many business cards as possible, it’s NOT about selling your product/ service, it’s about selling yourself and adding value – if you eagerly try to sell, people will smell your desperation a mile off and avoid you. Don’t try to impress, don’t overdress, don’t scan the room for your “target market” and blank everybody else. Statistically every grown up knows 400 + people so don’t

news

underestimate the connections behind a person, they will know someone who would buy your product, so leave a good impression. Don’t force your business card onto everybody; wait until they ask for it. Don’t pretend to be interested in a person by asking methodical questions if you aren’t, be sincere, natural and true to yourself. Don’t open a conversation with...”so what do you do?” rather ask personal questions first… “is this your first xyz event? Or talk about the venue, the guest speaker or host etc. Don’t try to impress people by explaining your business in a complicated way, keep it as simple as possible. WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON MYTHS YOU COME ACROSS I don’t need to network, everybody knows me… Wow funnily these are the businesses were I see closed/for sale signs a few weeks down the line. SHOULD I PREPARE BEFORE ATTENDING AN EVENT? Dress up, show up, be there on time, rub shoulders with the event organiser and don’t be afraid to ask for introductions to the most important guests. ELEVATOR PITCH Now this is the most scary part…everybody freezes, and even the ones who have run a business for decades often fail here. In a nutshell it’s the challenge to describe who you are, what you do and how one can get hold of you. Advanced, you should add what makes your product/service stand out and maybe your future goals or any current needs as “I am looking for new office space, a supplier xyz or to expand my sales team…this will enable your contact to remember you and search in his network for suitable connections and add value. Remember you are not a machine, be confident, but natural.

WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR INTROVERT SHY PEOPLE? Make use of every networking opportunity, experts recommend 4-6 hours a week. One tip, which might sound brutal, is to go to an event on your own, this way you are forced to talk to others. All depends on how badly you are craving growth and success. Remember we are all in the same boat, nobody has been eaten alive at a networking event. ALL THESE BUSINESS CARDS AND NEW CONNECTIONS, WHAT NOW - THE FOLLOW UP… Again, networking is not a contest, its quality before quantity, and all the new contacts you have made are of zero value if you don’t follow up. This should take place in the next 72 hours, preferably via phone. Always bearing in mind, how can I assist, how can I add value. The world leading wealth experts agree, to a make more profit, add more value. FINAL ADVICE Be the one you would like to meet at an event, be helpful, resourceful, be authentic, show real interest, don’t concentrate on being the centre of attention, rather give attention. A good mindset is to act as the host, greet everybody, put on a big smile, watch that nobody is standing alone, ask if the people are enjoying themselves, make introductions, etc. ENDING WITH MY FAVORITE QUOTE Robert Kiosaki: “The richest people in the world look for and build networks, all others look for a job.”

Happy networking & maximum success, Derek Barber Founder J-Biz Lounge ✆+ 34 661 194 030 www.jbizlounge.com

MODEL

MANIA

2016 has been a shocking year for the modelling world; where brains over beauty appears to reign supreme, diversity is lacking and age… well it is just a number, isn't it?! Read our exposé on the year that rocked the catwalk. BRAINS BEFORE BEAUTY

Cara, Kendall and Gigi are the names that probably most springs to mind when discussing the world´s most popular supermodels. This year they graced all the front covers, landed the most high profile sponsorship deals and led the designer runaways. But the Forbes 2016 Rich List has rocked the fashion world by revealing that 36 year-old Brazilian supermodel Giselle Bundchen earnt a staggering $30.5 million, over $20 million more than her closest rival.

Queen of the Catwalk

Giselle Bundchan - $30.5m Endorsements: Chanel, Caroline Herrera, Giselle Bundchen Intimates, Sejaa.

Kendall Jenner – $10m

Gigi Hagid - $9m

Cara Delevingne - $8.5m

Endorsements: Estee Lauder, Marc Jacobs, Chanel.

Endorsements: Versace, Tommy Hilfiger, Maybelline.

Endorsements: Burberry Fragrance, YSL, Tag Heur.

30 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 26

Looking more closely into the financials of the top earners on the list we can see why a model almost twice the age of the others has topped the list. Forbes Rich List is done on earnings for that year only. While the younger girls scoop the top endorsements, they don´t have their own businesses or lines from which to earn the seriously big bucks. Giselle has triumphed by launching her own label of lingerie, Giselle Bundchen Intimates and eco friendly make-up brand Sejaa. Both brands are now global and net the Brazilian-born model in excess of $17.5m annually. However, Kendall´s $10m fortune amassed this year is not to be sniffed at. Her stock has risen by 150% from $4m earnings in the 2015 Forbes Rich List to $10m in 2016, primarily to do with her Estee Lauder contract and her huge social media following.

LACK OF DIVERSITY

Unfortunately, this year´s list also reflects the lack of diversity on the catwalks, given that aside from the Puerto Rican model Joan Smalls, American model Jasmine Tookes and Chinese model Liu Wen the majority of the list are all white women. Natalie Robehmed, a staff writer at Forbes, said: “The majority of the list is overwhelmingly white, which reflects the lack of diversity in campaigns. A recent survey of print ads found 78% of models used were white, compared with just eight per cent Black or four per cent Asian models featured.” Plus interestingly, despite the rising fame of plus-sized models such as Ashley Graham, no plus-sized model earned the $4 million cut off necessary to make this year's Forbes ranking. “While models of colour and models who aren't 'straight-sized' do find work in editorial shoots, they still rarely book the high-paying contracts that lead to a spot on this list,” Robehmed added.

AGE IS JUST A NUMBER

However, despite ethnic diversity being a problem, age obviously isn´t – and a new reign of elderly models are proving this with gusto.

Daphne Selfe (Aged 89)

Daphne´s career began in 1949, aged 20, when she appeared in publications including Vogue, Harper´s Bazaar and Vanity Fair. However, her big break came 10 years ago with an edgy Red or Dead catwalk show where she was propelled into the limelight as the face of the so-called “Granny Chic” movement. Last year she was awarded the Guinness World Record Title as the world´s oldest working supermodel.

Baddie Winkle (Aged 86)

86-year-old Instagram star Baddie Winkle turned up in cult fashion label´s recent DimePiece's “State of Mind” campaign. The gregarious grandma was shot by Nikko La Mere for DimePiece in their badass streetwear including mesh tunics, oversized jerseys and sexy swimsuits. A caption on one of Baddie's Instagram photos says the campaign aimed “to prove that you're never too old to be the baddest bitch in the room.” We couldn't agree more…. let´s just hope designer brands start embracing culturally diverse and plus-sized models more. We´ll be watching with eager eyes for 2017!

Bo Gilbert (Aged 100)

2016 marked 100 years of British Vogue Magazine and what better way to celebrate than to feature a model the same age as the magazine itself. Harvey Nichols selected Bo after it´s ad agency Adam & Eve scoured the UK for a suitable star. Bo was discovered in her local paper, The Evesham Journal and modelled in the magazine´s 100th issue and for a Harvey Nichols campaign.

FOR THE LOVE OF ART Where love, passion and beauty have no end or beginning. They are endless, they are TIMELESS. Timeless Gallery Group brings together geniuses and the recipients of the art that they create showing an extensive collection of paintings, prints, sculptures, glass, ceramics and silversmithing. To experience true beauty; lovers and appreciators of art are now able to visit one of the 7 Timeless Art Galleries situated in Marbella, Miami and a further 2 in Sweden (Malmo and Tralleborg) and 3 in Poland (Warsaw, Gydnia and Bialystock). Warsaw is the latest offering having launched in October this year. There is also a much anticipated eighth and ninith gallery opening shortly. Marbella Rocks had the pleasure of catching up with Timeless CEO Mikael Segelström, to find out more about the group, its passion for art and plans for the future.

How and why did you venture into the art world Mikael?

I was basically born into it. My mother (Joanna Segelström) had art galleries since 1991 when I was born and so I grew up within the art world and it has always been a huge passion of mine.

What sets Timeless Gallery apart from the other art galleries?

I don’t really like to compare Timesless with other galleries because we are more like a scene for the art world than simply a gallery. I love to collaborate with other entities like museums and galleries but my speciality is to present love, the feelings and the thoughts of the artists.

Who is currently exhibiting at Timeless in Marbella?

We have a range of world class artists including Philip Jackson, Peter Mandl, Javier Gomez, plus new artists and exhibitions being introduced regularly.

Have you got any new artists appearing soon?

The Roberto Santo exhibition will be appearing throughout November and December. We have a new exhibition in January too, I can reveal more details nearer the time.

Do you have exclusive contracts with artists, if so which ones?

Most of our artists are exclusive within the Timeless Gallery Group. Not always at first but usually after a while we gain exclusivity as there is no need for them to go with other galleries. We meet all their expectations and more.

We can’t help but notice renovations are taking place here in Puerto Banus, can you tell us more?

We are expanding to make the gallery here 700 square metres – mixing the gallery with our European headquarters. We will be welcoming people as they enter Puerto Banus!

Timeless pride themselves in catering for all artistic tastes regardless of budget, can everyone be a lover of art in your opinion?

Of course and that’s what my gallery stands for. I would like to invite children, grown ups and elderly people even if they don’t have the capacity of buying – I would like to

features educate them on the love that art can give. I believe if you are rich in art and culture you are rich in life.

With unsettling economic times ahead is art becoming more of a commodity for investors?

It is. We work as an investment group, all the art we sell we buy back with a guarantee with the same price as it is sold. If the client wants to sell it back to us they can - and what’s more they can have the increase in the value of the art.

Why in your opinion should we invest in art?

First of all for ourselves, our well being and widening our perspective on life. Secondly, is the obvious monetary gain. If you look into the stock market you can never really predict what is going on, of course unless you are a masterbrain. In art, you have the feeling, the art history and if you have a good artist that is maintainable – a piece will rise in value.

I read that you offer a personalised service where art lovers can fly into a private villa of Timeless art located in Benhavis, do you still offer this service?

Yes we basically have a concept where we have a beautiful villa that is decorated with art and decorated with the atmosphere of art, This is something we encourage a lot of people to do. When you have been staying there for 3 or 4 days you can be inspired and change your view of viewing art. We allow people to stay in the house free of charge.

Will there eventually be a Timeless Gallery in every major city?

That is my masterplan and is definitely something I would reach out to do. I would want to be there for all my clients and we have a worldwide spectrum of artists, so to be available for them in every major city would be a dream come true.

You are also a fan of boats and sailing, is this why you chose to live in Marbella?

I love sailing but didn’t chose Marbella because it was close to the ocean. I chose it for the mix of international

people, its close proximity to the airport to fly to other big cities and the calmness here. I have the same feelings with Miami but it is much easier to live in Marbella with European operations here.

You masterminded the launch of the Miami Gallery, was it hard to break into the US market?

The market wasn’t that hard to break into. The hard part was the renovations, the journeys to and from Miami and the long hours. But when you have a passion for something you never realise it till the day you actually have to sleep and then you collapse!

If a collector finds a piece of art in another territory can you deliver?

Yes we offer a specilaised delivery service for every Timeless product so it can be delivered anywhere in the world.

Master Leonardo da Vinci said, “beauty perishes in life, but is immortal in art.” if you had to come up with one art anecdote what would it be?

“We worship both the creators and lovers of art. It is the sensitivity to art that is a measure of humanity. It is art that makes us human. You don’t need to be rich, well educated or experienced to love art. You only need to be open, to trust your feelings and senses.”

“Design is the creation of a plan or convention for the construction of an object or a system…” The Marbella Design Academy Interior Architecture course is continually growing, and it is so easy to recognise the need of our old towns and villages to be modernised, reformed with practical vitality, new shops, houses and apartments following the latest habitual trends. definitions, and influences so many disciplines, that the world of design sees no limits. When an Interior Architect talks about design he would probably mention terms like aesthetics, harmony, balance, proportions, space, colours and materials, as these elements are crucial in the construction of any object or system that we design. However, the field of Interior Architecture is a vast concept and it is by no means limited to conventions - on the contrary it opens the doors to the design world with imagination and creativity. We define Interior Architecture as the creation of the built interior environment. It includes all the aesthetics, functional and technical elements of the interior space to be used. It is possible to think about design in an abstract way, but it is not always possible to recreate the vision. We teach our students to develop a design theory, and how to apply the technical skills and tools expected of a professional designer to transform an abstract vision into a real life, working object.”

We also encourage and inspire our students to find and develop their own particular creative style using many mixed media techniques, combining traditional artistic skills such as sketching, illustration and photography with typography, layout and multimedia. The objective is to make our students as successful as possible whatever specialisation they choose to pursue within the graphic industry and we help and support them at every stage of the process. With everything we teach we put the emphasis on commercial viability and have course components which include digital marketing and studio management to complement the student’s internships, exhibitions and the creation of their professional portfolios.”

BARDOU

yourself BEAUTIFUL Christmas is on the way and with that an abundance of parties (not that we’re complaining!) At Bardou we pride ourselves on being one step ahead of the trends game and can cut, colour and style our clients into carefully coiffed, marvelously manicured and generally sassier, sexier versions of themselves. Here we’ve compiled a few of the key trends for the upcoming season to keep you one step ahead as your plan your party season look.

Natalie started out as a beauty therapist working at the exclusive Wentworth Golf and Country Club and trained as a semi permanent make-up artist with the renowned artist Tracie Giles, alongside a successful TV and modeling career. After living in Marbella for 5 years and taking part in the reality show ‘Life on Marbs’ Natalie saw a huge gap in the market for an upscale “London” style salon and together with partner celebrity stylist Adee Phelan, launched Bardou Marbella. The salon offers all aspects of hair and beauty including Great LengthS and Easy Locks hair extensions, Crystal Clear’s newest machine The Comcit (microdermabrasion, oxygen therapy and micro needling) and of course makeup tattooing. With the best team of highly trained stylists and therapists to ensure you have the best experience in every aspect of hair & beauty at reasonable prices. Everyone is welcome at Bardou, whether you require our renowned Bardou blow dry or a full restyle, you’ll be made to feel more than welcome.

To make a booking at Bardou flagship salon in Puerto Banus please call +34 951 518 680 or visit the website at www.thebardou.com 78 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 26

FRINGES

Our top tip on trends is fringes, its going to be big this winter, as you can see from this gorgeous image of TOWIE’s Megan McKenna. She recently got extensions with Easilocks a brand we are now offering at Bardou, and is rocking a fab new full fringe.

AUTUMNAL COLOURS

If you’re opting for dye Autumnal colours such as chocolate browns, warm auburns and coppers are really in fashion this season.

BALAYAGE

Our stylists excel at this as you can see from this cool ice shade. In case you have been hiding under a rock all year, Balayage is a technique popular with a lot of A list celebrities and models. It is low maintenance as the colour blends, getting progressively lighter on the ends with no noticeable root line.

WARM BALAYAGE

Using warmer golden shades a Bardou stylist will adjust your Balayage look to suit your skin tone perfectly.

BEACH WAVE CURLS

As favoured by Khloe Kardashian. Used with GHD stylers to create beach curls, undone glam, giving both body and volume.

GREAT LENGTHS

Completed with Great Lengths extensions by Bardou and styled with heated rollers to keep the look lasting all night. No heat, no glue, keratin bonds and the best quality hair.

ALL ABOUT EYES

Nothing says party like glam make-up. Our talented Bardou make-up artist Danielle created this empowering glitter look.

BARDOU BROWS

Bardou specialise in micro pigmentation of brows and can create a defined shape for you. We also do the ever popular HD Brows, which involves 7 steps to achieve the perfect brow, done by our trained specialists.

HAIR & BEAUTY BARDOU PRODUCTS We also stock our own range of shampoos, conditioners, styling mists, dry shampoo, hairspray, brushes and roller sets and we have also created stunning Christmas hampers that are available to buy in the salon. Stay up to date on the chance to win Bardou products (as seen in Grazia and the Daily Mail) by following our Instagram page at thebardoumarbella.

LONG LOCKS

We also offer the Waterman’s "grow me" shampoo and conditioner which is enforced by numerous celebrities including Megan McKenna. It is scientifically proven to make your hair grow thicker and faster and is exclusive to Bardou in Marbella.

LUSH LASHES

Volume lashes are created by Vivien at Bardou and help your eyes to pop. Our individual eyelash extensions generally last 6-8 weeks so will see you right through till the New Year.

DEWY SKIN

We do 3 types of facials at Bardou; Crystal Clear facial, Crystal Clear Oxygen Facial, and Comcit which is a combination of microdermabrasion, oxygen & derma roller. We offer individual assessments to work out exactly the right treatment for you to achieve flawless skin this season.

THINK PINK

Bardou manicurists are some of the best in the biz and we offer gel extensions, shellac and acrylic decoration like these candy inspired pink nails coveted by a recent client.

LONDON TRENDS Zoë Woods is from a hairdressing family: her mother and aunt are hairdressers. Before coming to Marbella 14 years ago, Zoë was an award winning hairdresser and owned “WORKSHOP”, a top 10 Redken salon in the UK. In 2002 she moved to Marbella and opened her salon “RED”, which quickly became one of the leading salons on the Costa del Sol. In 2009 Zoë went on to establish “WOOD HAIRDRESSING” and made it into a top boutique salon with a truly international clientele. Zoë is recognised for her exceptional talent in cutting, styling and colouring and her expert hair extensions work. She keeps up to date with the latest hair fashions by attending international exhibitions like “Salon International” in London and the “Redken Symposium” in Barcelona and brings back the latest hair styles to Marbella. What makes Zoë a top hairdresser is that she really cares for her clients and their hair wishes. She also ensures that her clients have a friendly, intimate experience that is fun and enjoyable. She loves what she does and takes pride in her work She will not be satisfied with just good hair; she wants you to leave her salon with amazing hair.

I feel excited, inspired and motivated, having just returned from Salon International, the annual hairdressing exhibition that took place in London on 15 and 16 October 2016. There’s always so much to see and do at Salon International – that’s why it’s considered the number one destination for hairdressing professionals everywhere. This year there was more than ever before with new show features such as the Legends Lounge, Business Bubble, Hair Health Village and the yearly British Hairdressing Awards Gallery. There were over 400 brands showcasing great products, equipment, services and practical solutions. It was great to mix with the many hundreds of likeminded hairdressing professionals from all over the world. I attended master classes by famous hairdressers like Patrick Cameron, Richard Phillipart, Liam Robinson, Matthew Sutcliffe, Gareth McAughey and Ky Wilson

HAIR & BEAUTY showing the latest trends from the catwalk. The current ‘in’ hair style is all about the natural, organic look with a soft, bohemian, romantic texture. Big curls and long waves and wide open plaits dominate the looks from the catwalk. It should all look effortless, even though you have just spent 3 hours in the salon to achieve this! Patrick Cameron showed how he creates some of the looks from his Modern Vintage collection and the new Goddess series. Ky Wilson demonstrated a soft airy look tailored to your individual style by looking where the hair wants to go, letting the shape develop and styling it to fit your personality. Gareth McAughey did a lived in, dressed down look with beachy waves. I was inspired and I am keen to bring these trendy looks to Marbella, ready to provide you with amazing hair for the Christmas holiday season. Or, as Patrick Cameron says it: “to give you the wow-factor in your hair.” Salon International also provided a great opportunity to see so many brands side by side. Many brands have now brought out hair repair treatments or bond protector systems. However, the Olaplex Bond Multiplying System remains the top treatment. Just as there are many smartphones, but only one iPhone, there are many bond protectors, but only one Olaplex! As the first to bring Olaplex to Marbella, I continue to recommend the treatment especially in combination with colour or as a standalone treatment for damaged hair. I also reviewed a number of hair extension brands, but I continue to prefer Great Lengths as they provide the highest quality strands of real hair from a 100% ethical and traceable production process. The newly designed pure keratin bonds allow perfect fusion with your own hair and are invisible. Let me consult you on the infinite possibilities for hair wonderfully enhanced by extensions from Great Lengths. A hairdressing exhibition would not be complete without a broad range of scissors. My scissors are my most important hairdressing instruments. I use Japanese scissors from high carbon stainless steel, precision crafted by the Shisho descendents from the Samurai sword smithies. I had my Kasho scissors tuned, sharpened and polished for precision and smooth operation allowing me optimum creative freedom in slide cutting, wet or dry cutting.

I have upgraded my hairdryers to the new Parlux ADVANCE. Powerful, lightweight and silent, they are designed for easy use providing me with greater control when styling your hair. Its ionic technology radiates heat inside the hair without drying it out; drops of moisture are evaporated into micro molecules, leaving hair soft and shiny. It is important to me that their energy saving design safeguards the environment. Moreover, the silencer allows me to continue to talk to you while drying and styling your hair. I also brought back the Olivia Garden NanoThermic Ceramic + Ion styling brushes. I use them for their gentle and nurturing styling and its anti-bacterial protection gives your hair a healthier radiant shine. These brushes reduce the static electricity of the hair and makes it easier to style. The ceramic barrel ensures that the heat of the hairdryer is distributed evenly and quickly throughout the brush and large air holes ensure a better air flow, resulting in a much faster, more accurate and therefore gentler styling without overheating or drying out the hair. The ergonomic handle with anti-slip material ensures maximum comfort and control. The sectioning pick at the end of the handle is perfect for sectioning of the hair, making precise styling considerably easier. I have brought a few extra brushes in varying diameters, so that you can also buy them at Wood Hairdressing for use at home. From Tangle Teezer I have brought back the The Ultimate for my use in the salon. This is a fabulous new hairbrush designed for dry-styling and dressing hair. It enables me to achieve perfect up-dos, back-brush in volume and texture and to maintain and blend in hair extensions, clip-ins and weaves. For your use at home and on the move I brought the Compact Styler. The Compact Styler detangles and delivers the perfect finishing touch. Smooth, shine and define anytime thanks to the unique two-tiered system technology – the long teeth detangle and the short teeth smooth for

HAIR & BEAUTY healthy, glossy hair. The protective cover keeps the teeth in top condition and its handbag-friendly design makes it the ideal styler when on the move. For my globe trotting, frequent traveler clients I have brought the Diva Travel Dryer and Diva Mini Pro Styler. The Travel Dryer is lightweight and has 1000W high performance so you can achieve a gorgeous blow dry in minutes. It has two heat and speed settings; its ergonomic handle folds away for easy packing. The Mini Pro Styler is small but mighty. It is powerful and straightens hair just as quickly as its larger siblings. Due to its size it’s perfect for travelling as it will fit in even the smallest travel bags. It heats up to 210°C in 30 seconds; it is multivoltage for use all over the world, has a travel lock and comes with a UK/ EU adaptor. Finally, as seen on ITV This Morning and in Vogue, I brought the Fab Brows. Fab Brows is a revolutionary

system and all-in-one brow makeover that creates perfectly coloured eyebrows in just seconds. This semi-permanent organic product quickly transforms thin, short and pale eyebrows, providing the ultimate look in brow shape, definition and colour. Simply choose a stencil shape to match the look required, hold over the eyebrow and apply the powder using the professional applicator brush. The specialist powder is smudge proof, water resistant and designed to withstand the rigours of a full day. The ultimate essential look, so easy to wear and apply. mindful! T

is almost the season to be jolly. Summer begins to seem a distant memory and many will already be fighting to come to terms with the effects of enjoying the on season. We as PT's are inundated with enquiries from people desperate to right the wrongs of summer. But as we take on our new hopefuls we are very mindful of an upcoming speed bump.....Christmas!!!

I’m not about to suggest you can't or shouldn't relax and enjoy Christmas. You absolutely should indulge and feast for the celebrations but I have some quick suggestions for you: 1. Tighten up your diet and be on point with everything on the run up to Christmas week. If your body has been used to experiencing diet and exercise then it is less likely to panic and start adding lbs to your gut from a couple of naughty days. 2. Most importantly don't indulge every day. For the clean eater or healthy minded Christmas can be like that €30 extra you know you have but you spend the same €30 three times in three different shops then wonder why you have no money left in the bank. We know we can get away with a day or 3 but it can easily turn into a week and in some cases even longer. Estimates of how much we generally consume on Christmas Day alone can come in at around the 6000 calorie mark. That’s 3500-4000 calories more than we need and more than enough to add a pound on the hips. But let it happen and don't feel guilty. If you've ticked off the other boxes you will more than get away with it. Here's some info to keep in mind when deciding how to load your plate:

SPROUTS

You may groan at the thought of them but actually over the holiday season, UK supermarkets shift almost 650 tones per week. Sprouts have the same make up as our usuals like cabbage and broccoli but with super concentrated levels of key nutrients.Vitamin E, potassium, iron, phytochemicals, antioxidants, bioflavonoids, chemoprotectants and protein. They also contain other nutrients like folic acid, zinc, niacin, riboflavin, copper and magnesium - which are very good for hair.

The Probiotic Parsnip

These gorgeous root vegetables are a great food for digestive health. The power of the parsnip is all down to a large indigestible sugar called an oligosaccharide, which lends the vegetable its

86 MARBELLAROCKS | ISSUE 26

distinctive sweet flavour. Oligosaccharide essentially acts as a food source for the good bacteria in the gut, which ferment the compound as they feed on it. During this process, the bacterial colony can grow and strengthen and during fermentation the bacteria also release beneficial compounds such as butyric acid, which helps to protect the gut from damage.

Turkey

Turkey may not be the most exciting meat in the world, but it does have one very interesting property. Aswell as being a great lean source of protein, Turkey is also rich in the essential amino acid tryptophan. Tryptophan is used to create the neurotransmitter serotonin, which then goes on to form another neurotransmitter called melatonin, which helps induce a deep sleep. So eating turkey can help you sleep! However, one thing you need to remember is that tryptophan rich foods must be consumed with a carbohydrate source, in order to get the amino acid across the blood brain barrier where it can be converted. Which could explain the post-Christmas dinner coma (I'm sure eating your own bodyweight and drinking a gallon of champagne has nothing to do with it).

DRINK

We all well know that the booze is going to play a big part in our beltlines expanding and I know that most of you are going to have a skin full around this time. If so we need to be dealing with damage limitation. Alcohol contains 7 kcals per gram which is almost as much as pure fat. Here like with our food, a few decent choices can go a long way.

Back off on the Bailey's

Avoid creamy liqueurs after dinner and instead have a single shot of brandy if you really fancy ending your meal in style. Most cream based liqueurs contain around 80-100 calories per 25ml measure compared with 50 calories in a brandy.

Bottom Line -

Be MINDFUL!

While I do suggest you let your hair down over the Christmas period and enjoy the holidays at the same time I can't stress enough about the impact of "over" enjoying these days can have on your progress and desire to get into shape. A good plan heading in and an allowance during can really make the difference and set us up nicely to fix our sights firmly on looking the best EVER for the summer.

Peet’s Tip:

Evade certain options instead of avoiding all together. Simply swapping an item for a healthier choice but that still does the same job can be a help. For example: Rum and Coke 350ml Rum Coke Light 350ml 30g Salted Peanuts 20g Salted Popcorn

106 kcal 64 kcal 181 kcal and 2.9g Fat 94 kcal and 0.4g Fat

Dilute

Mix white wine with soda water or diet lemonade to make it last twice as long and half the calories. If not opt for a dry white or red wine as these contain fewer calories than sweeter wines. But be warned....half a bottle of red or dry white wine contains around 250 calories.

Stay classy

Crack open the bubbly. In general you drink less as it's served in smaller glasses and the bubbles can help fill you up. Allow 100 calories for a glass.

RESTAURANT REVIEW

S

unborn’s Sky Restaurant is truly breathtaking. Located on the seventh floor of the world’s largest €150m Super Yacht hotel, with panoramic views of Morocco, the Rock and Bay of Gibraltar. On clear days you can even see North Africa from the terrace. The restaurant itself is decorated beautifully, with starlight lighting and the illuminated blue Sky Bar as its focal point. It also has a retractable roof and concertina glass doors, allowing for alfresco dining all year round or parties under the stars.

SKY RESTAURANT

THE MENU

You are definitely spoilt for choice aboard the Sunborn Sky Restaurant with 50 dishes to choose from. The menu has a distinctly Mediterranean feel with international influences. For starter our testers went for the Lobster and King Prawn Cocktail, which was a refreshing twist on an old classic, with large pieces of lobster claw and tail and plenty of king prawns. The Marie Rose sauce, with a hint of spice, was delicious too. Our second taster went for the Duo of Lobster and Wagyu Mini Burger served with a watercress

and soy mayonnaise, cooked to perfection, the flavours of the beef and lobster were offset perfectly with the tangy sauce. On the mains menu there is something for every discerning diner, with a Sky Grill, Mains and Pasta & Risotto Section. Our tasters went for the Galician 30 Day Aged Filet Steak with Green Peppercorn sauce (there are also Red Wine, Bearnaise, Forest Mushroom, Chimmichurri or Chorizo Butter sauce options.) The 250g steak was cooked “medium rare” perfectly and literally melted in the mouth. You can choose from Black Truffle Hand Cut Fries, Oven Roasted Baby Potatoes, Green Beans & Shallots, Mixed Salad or Button Mushroom & Bacon for the sides. On recommendation of the waiter we went for Creamy Mashed Potato and Seasonal Vegetables. Our second taster went for the Pan Fried Cod with artichoke, new potatoes and a Vierge sauce. The fillet was large, fish succulent and sauce delicious. For dessert our tasters went for the Raspberry Mille Feuille and Banoffee Pie. Both were superb and accompanied with homemade vanilla pod ice-cream. The Mille Fuille, a traditional French dessert that is notoriously hard to get right, was perfect with 4 layers of thin

crispy pastry and layered with cream, raspberry sauce and fresh rasberries. The Banoffee Pie was also devine with lashings of cream, toffee sauce and decorated with spun sugared bananas. All in all we can wholeheartedly recommend the Sky Restaurant. Sunborn’s 5-Star Rating is definitely well deserved.

SERVICE

As well as the décor, views and food one thing that particularly stood out from the overall dining experience was the service. Our waiters were extremely attentive and we even received a visit from the chef, who enlightened us to the inspiration for the current and new Asian and Morrocan dishes that will be coming onto the menu shortly.

EVENTS

If you are looking for a venue for a party then look no further. The Sky Restaurant is available for private hire and can seat up to 300 guests. You can also hire sections of the restaurant for smaller gatherings like Baby Showers or Birthdays. With such a good chef, sous chef and restaurant management team you can rest in the knowledge that your event will be a day/night to remember.

2016 ASTROLOGY FORECAST Aries

Gemini

21 MAR – 20 APR

22 MAY – 21 JUNE

24 JULY – 23 AUG

Taurus

Cancer

Virgo

21 APR – 20 MAY

22 JUNE – 23 JULY

24 AUG – SEPT 3

As the year winds down, you however are in unstoppable form. You’ve a desire for bigger, more meaningful experiences. Travel or any dealings with people or companies overseas could offer these as well as bringing unforeseen benefits your way. However, love and your closest personal connections offer your greatest source of adventure, experience and personal satisfaction. If love is not your priority right at the moment simply because there is so much going on, rest assured it soon will be. Don’t forget, any experience is more enjoyable if you share it with the right person. Going it alone for too long? This is just not on your schedule as we head into 2017!

What enhances your life - and who or what doesn’t, could preoccupy you as we head towards 2017. Does that job really satisfy your soul as well as your bank account? Does that connection have the level of passion, depth and understanding you seek? If you find deficits anywhere in your life now - from friendships to where you live to how you earn your living or who you live with, don’t just put up with it, take steps to change it for the better. The only person with the power to change your life for the better is you. Don’t wait for that prince or princess to turn up and rescue you. Time to be your own knight in shining armour. Save yourself Taurus, you secretly know you're the only one that really can do this.

The year’s end could see singles begin a romance with lasting potential attached as that nearirresistible package presents itself of sexy combined with smart. You know you are a sucker for the snappy comeback line and that aura of sexyself confidence. Yes, you have to have them and what’s more - looks like they want you right back. Others thank their lucky stars they already have that. Opportunities could arrive from far far away and could definitely hold the key to expansion for you in 2017. Your future may require you to step out of your routine and embrace something or someone that represents a new world of experience.

You end the year in a ‘I know what I want and I’m going to get it’ frame of mind. God help Santa if he gets your order wrong this year. Your usual sentimental self is replaced by a new focus and determination as well as the confidence that has you unafraid to go for it - whatever ‘it’ may be. Of course, you’re still that soft, sweet roasting marshmallows by the fire with loved ones kind of person. It’s just that if 2016 has taught you anything, it’s to give yourself and your dreams equal priority to others. Funny thing about people who know what they want. They usually get it. If not for Christmas, then certainly in 2017. Ring in the changes, Cancer. Now is the time and you have the power and ability to do so next year.

Ho ho ho. Have you been naughty or nice, Leo? Events around you could just have you feeling that someone up there has been watching you and keeping score. Either everything goes your way or you encounter closed doors, barriers, blocks to progress and a distinct lack of festive spirit. But what you see as barriers are in fact diversions set up by the universe in order for you to get back on the right path. Who knew, right? Don’t bother knocking on doors which remain closed or running after something (or someone) that remains elusive. Recapture your soul… your rewards when due will come to you - whether they are delivered by a fashion-challenged fat man in a red suit - or not.

Big decisions taken at the year’s end could determine how 2017 unfolds for you. Take your time and above all, consider the long term ramifications of any choice. Also remain aware that not choosing to do something is a choice in itself! Some of you may now be contemplating a major move or career change. It’s time to get serious about the future and what you want. Imagine yourself 2, 7 or even 14 years down the track. Where are you? What are you doing? Who are you with or would like to be with? This is your Christmas wishlist to the universe but it’s more than just that. Think of it as your business plan for the future. You could now be taking the first decisive step towards creating that future path. Commit to that dream.

Libra

Sagittarius

Aquarius

24 SEPT – 23 OCT

23 NOV – 21 DEC

Your birthday season and 2016 begins and ends with you in an enviable position to self-direct how the following year unfolds. If you have now learned from your past, you are now in a position to step free of any negative aspects of it for good. Some of you could be looking at dealing with the public on a grand scale or seeing a long term goal or ambition realised. How others see you and how you see yourself could result in a massive metamorphosis that has a ripple effect into every area of your life. Yes, it took you 12 years to become an overnight sensation but results will be worth the hard work and the wait.

21 JAN – 19 FEB

You’re not so much Santa in that red outfit, but a warrior princess or prince and let’s face it, you prefer it that way. You don’t need to wait for anyone with a Naughty or Nice list to come dole out gifts by merit as right now you are the one ensuring that you get what you want - and deserve. You’re pushing towards an expansive 2017 where travel, success and learning opportunities beckon and what’s more, you are not willing to wait for them to happen. In the 1989 film Working Girl, Sigourney Weaver asks Melanie Griffith: Who makes it happen? Answer: she does and did. So do you. Make it happen now and get a head start on 2017.

Scorpio

Capricorn

Pisces

24 OCT – 22 NOV

22 DEC – 20 JAN

20 FEB – 20 MAR

If there’s one thing you hate its questions or being kept in suspense around love, Libra. Is it on? Is it off? Do they? Don’t they? Is there anyone out there?! Whatever that love question may be, the universe could just be in a mood to answer it one way or another. The result being that whatever answer you receive allows you to move into the New Year with a new sense of freedom and knowing where you stand. And that can also mean if you are single or end up that way, of knowing that really, love is meant to be easy and you don’t have to try that hard to make it happen. In fact, what’s meant for you will find you. Kick back and relax as a result.

Your intuition and ability to channel inspired ideas is enhanced now so all that remains is how you are going to utilise these gifts? Are you going to ignore that small, still voice within or will you follow its guidance? Will you do something with your ideas or just sit on them or worse, talk about them but never actually take action? If you’re still unsure about whether that you feel is just your imagination or even wishful thinking try an experiment where you follow what your intuition tells you to do over just a few days and then compare the results to not listening to it. The difference will probably astonish you. Then put this into action for the end of the year and see how it changes your life.

Tie up loose ends, finish off outstanding projects, pay off debts, de-clutter your closet and your life, and generally clean the decks and deck the halls with future promise. You need to create the space in your life for the new to flow into you. It cannot do that if your life is all ready full up! Ask yourself what has been lived out, needs finishing up or is just no longer used by you? Deal with that and be ready to start 2017 with a clean slate on every level. If you can manage to do this, you will discover the new year to be one of realisation when it comes to those dreams and ambitions. And you can furthermore reap the benefits that comes with this changed way of thinking.

Creativity, inspiration, travel, the sea, horses, higher knowledge and tapping into your core - how’s that for a mixed bag of festive treats, Pisces? One, any or even all of these themes could feature now as could people from your past. Has there been anyone from your past that your thoughts have been straying to of late? What feelings do they still stir up? Don’t be surprised if they put in a (re)appearance now and also don’t be afraid to decline a second-time around involvement if you feel the past would just be put on replay. Staying in your core strength gives you the right decision. Future opportunities are all around you and to take advantage of them you need to look forward - not back.

BRAD MOORE We were delighted to catch up with comedian/actor Brad Moore, star of pensioner robbing Brit Flick ‘The Golden Years,’ at the Marbella International Film Festival. He shares with us what it’s like to settle into an acting career in his forties and highlights of his career so far.

HOW DID YOU BREAK INTO THE FILM INDUSTRY? At first I performed in many short films and also did a couple of years of stand up comedy. Then I also set up a film production company that has helped me make some contacts with directors and producers. My first cameo in a feature was alongside Timothy Spall. No pressure!! WHAT MADE YOU GO FROM STOCKBROKER TO ACTOR? When I had my son I used to tell him bedtime stories, a glass of wine in one hand and Roald Dahl in the other. We always used to make up voices and then eventually our own characters. Seeing how much he loved it and this love of performing spurred me on to give up my day job and forge a career in acting. Crazy at 40!

WE’VE HEARD SHE PLAYS YOUR LOVE INTEREST. WHAT WAS IT LIKE KISSING HER? The snogs were Brilliant! I kept getting them wrong on purpose so we had to do those scenes over and over. IF YOU HAD TO TAKE 3 THINGS TO A DESERT ISLAND WHAT WOULD THEY BE? My son (kidnapped) his iPhone and some boxing gloves. WHO WOULD BE YOUR IDEAL DINNER PARTY GUESTS? My father as he passed. I would want Paul Newman to join us later. BEST CHAT UP LINE YOU’VE USED ON A GIRL? Marry me! It worked sadly.

BEST CHARACTER TRAIT? WAS IT AN EASY TRANSITION? No not really, friends and family thought Libra's like equality. I had gone cuckoo! I didn’t have time for drama school so had to learn on the job. BEST ADVICE EVER GIVEN? From my nan "make them chase you!" WHAT’S THE BIGGEST PART Worst habit? YOU’VE PLAYED TO DATE? Shouting – I literally have no voice I had my first lead part in ‘North vs. tempo awareness! South’ and my upcoming feature film ‘Gloves Off’ will be a major project for me as I co-wrote and starred in the film MOST EMBARRASING ITEM OF alongside Ricky Tomlinson and Denise CLOTHING IN YOUR WARDROBE? A pair of pants that my friend Brian made Van Outen.
