Specifications -

Brief - create the branding for Rebbecca Ishaque a third year photography student Concept - The soft light focus and pastel colours in Rebecca’s work should be represent in her branding by creating a feminine delicat design. Consideration - The film exposed photographs should be at the forefron of the design and not over shadowed by the personal branding. The branding must be feminine and understated. Target audience - The target audience is primarily for clients as Rebecca is a freelance photographer, however there is a secondary purposes of the branding to appeal to potential employers.

Above are research boards sent by Rebecca Ishaque. The research informed many of the design decisions through out the process. The colour was a direct element influenced by the research. The initial research in to typography had a more hand rendered aesthetic, something that developed and becameredundant.

The soft and flowing letterforms of the hand renderd typography work well with Rebecca’s photographic style. The hand rendered type also works well with her hands on approach to photography. The serif typeface connotes the same feminine light aesthetic with a more professional and polished undertone. The colour of the business cards were also developed greatly. Rebecca wanted a neutrel, yet bright and interesting colour. The purple with grey tones is understated yet still feminine and soft.

Printed range -

The printed range for the branding project is unique, simple and clean, this was a design decision employed to allow the photography to speak for it’s self. The postcards were created as a mini portfolio taster to send out to both clients and eployers, they employ the same design aesthetic as the rest of the printed ephemira and add a pop of colour to the printed range.

Digital -

The web page is clear and functional. The logo is placed in a prominant position with on the page and the audiences eye is guided straight from the photograph to the logo.
