Live Brief set by Something more. Brief - Create a brand indentity for Water supplier. Define what the brand stands for, create what it should look like and build collatoral. Concept - A user friendly privitised water company, focussed on making water suppliers more innovative and friendly with customer service. Target Audience - The target audience for Pipeline are young students and business people who often over look their water bills and have become tired of the disinvolved approach of their current water suppliers. Pipeline aims to provide a light hearted and fun approach to the mundane act of water supplying and engaging its customers. Colour -

Research -

After creating the concept of Pipeline a progressive water supplier. The research was focussed on looking in to colour schemes and circular type faces to represent water pipes. The images above show some of the research process. The target audience for the company is young students and adults who feel disinvolved with their water suppliers and arent always aware of the service they are paying for. Research was also undertaken in to existing water company in order to evaluate the faults of existing water suppliers and position Pipeline with in the industry.

Development -

Based off of the reasearch the logo type was developed. The colour scheme was the first design desicion. a range of blue tones were chosen to fit the conventions of a water company. The blue colours also provide connotations of calmness and relaxation, which is how the user should feel when using the company. The rounded, bold counters of the typeface provide a user friendly, fun vibe. The segmented lettering also represent the parts of a water pump.

Research -

Consistant with the clean theme of the logo design the web page is simple, functional as well as fun. The pipeline navigation bar is one of the features that injects personality in to the brand ethos. The website is also very straight forward and easy to use with a clean and large interface. The navigation on the website is stripped back and allows the user to navigate around the website in a small number of clicks.

App proposal -

Utilising modern technology all services will be availible on a stand alone app. The app will provide some of the information of the website as well as extra information. Bills and usage will be availible for the customer via the app. The app feature was designed retaining some elements of the webpage in order to create brand consistency.

The relevant printed ephemera produced, included letter heads, bill slips, business cards and envelopes. The printed material will be high quality uncoated stock. The design decision was made to use the brand colour throughout the printed range. This decision was made as it would be bright and eyecatching amoungst the white and brown envelopes normally associated with bills and letters.
