Interior updates include a reconfiguration of the front desk and lobby, new flooring in lobby and hallway, updated Crafts Room, new interior trim and finishes, interior paint and a complete kitchen renovation. The project also received additional funding in order to include security improvements in the project which includes interior and exterior security cameras. When Phase I is complete, program operations will move back into the facility. Phase II of the project will consist of improvements to the gym including refinished gym floor, new bleachers and new scoreboards. Phase 1 is on schedule to end in late August, just in time for the new school year. When completed, Phase II will begin and is anticipated to be completed before the holidays. Youth Advisory Council What is the YAC?
The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is an all volunteer advisory council to the San Carlos City Council comprised of Middle School and High School Teens.
Youth Center
What types of projects do they do?
The YAC strengthens the image of community for our young people in San Carlos. We promote health and wellness in conducting workshops on teen issues and advise the City Council on youth-related programs. We foster human development by offering activities and events suggested by youth, for youth. The YAC does volunteer work throughout the community. The YAC helped fundraise and build the San Carlos Youth Center and continues to recommend ideas for ongoing programs and operations. Our Youth Deserve a Strong Foundation
The San Carlos Youth Center Foundation was established as a California non-profit in 1993 by a group of San Carlos citizens to raise the funds necessary to build the San Carlos Youth Center in Burton Park. The San Carlos Youth Center opened its doors to the community in September 1999. While the City of San Carlos and the Parks and Recreation Department maintain authority over the San Carlos Youth Center programs and staffing, the San Carlos Youth Center Foundation and its Board of Directors continues to raise and distribute funds used to maintain and improve the physical facility, as well as supplement costs, supplemental programs, and scholarships not covered by the City.

They are always gentle on the body and generally safe for most people to do. It is always a good idea to talk to your doctor before beginning a new exercise program, but you are not likely to injure yourself doing any of these exercises.
