WE SPEND JANUARY 1ST WALKING THROUGH OUR LIVES, ROOM BY ROOM, DRAWING UP A LIST OF WORK TO BE DONE, CRACKS TO BE PATCHED. MAYBE THIS YEAR, TO BALANCE THE LIST, WE OUGHT TO WALK THROUGH THE ROOMS OF OUR LIVES ... NOT LOOKING FOR FLAWS BUT FOR POTENTIAL.

Message from the Chairman and Deputy Chairman
December 2020
December 18, 2020

MESSAGES Dear Team, As we prepare to close the curtains on what has been a year like no other in our lifetime, it is natural for us to reflect. As 2020 ends however, what is increasingly apparent is that it has been a year of perseverance, resilience, strength and determination. We have all faced unprecedented challenges but these challenges have forced us to tap into our strength reserves. Our fight or flight responses have been triggered like never before and though we have not yet fully turned the corner, there are signs of light on the horizon and the fact that we have made it this far is proof of our collective strength. We recall greeting January 2020 with such enthusiasm, optimism and promise. For our company, there were also immense plans for great advancement just as we are sure you envisioned personally. None of us could have anticipated what would unfold by March when the unimaginable occurred, resulting in the global shut down of the tourism industry including our resorts. It is helpful to remember however that even in a year marked by challenges, as a team, we met them head-on. Difficult decisions had to be made but were done with the long-term goal of recovery and positioning in mind and throughout, we committed to be there for each other, providing support wherever possible. Additionally, in the face of a pandemic and worldwide uncertainty, our team came together to create our industry-leading Platinum Protocols of Cleanliness programme which has played a pivotal role in the reopening of the local and regional tourism industry. Equally important, you, our team of hardworking and dedicated hospitality professionals continue to implement these protocols across our resorts, securing the safety of all who enter our gates. This is the unique Sandals spirit that has allowed us to claim the World Travel Awards title of the World’s Best AllInclusive Company for the 25th consecutive year. Despite the challenges of the present, we remain optimistic about the future. By looking through a forward lens to a better tomorrow, we remain committed to the growth of our brand and to providing unlimited opportunities for our team members. This has not waivered and has motivated us to continue working on the future expansion of the Sandals brand with some exciting new additions to provide even greater opportunities for our team as we seek to recover better. Team, although we have been fortunate to have a number of our resorts reopened and team members back on active duty, it is evident that demand is low as the global travel industry remains in a very delicate position. This means that as a group, we are facing an end of year we have not experienced in over a decade. With a number of our fellow team members remaining off duty we encourage you to keep them in mind as our company also implements measures to support them, especially during this season. As we move into 2021, we know the road to recovery will not be immediate. This thought may be daunting but if we have learnt nothing else from 2020, we have learnt that there can be victories even in challenging times. As a team and as individuals we have the capacity to weather this storm. Some days may be harder than others, but we will get through it together. and stay strong. Thank you all for your bravery, commitment and dedication and for continuing to stand with us on the frontlines as we prepare to recover stronger, together. Wishing you all that’s good, Adam Stewart, CD

How to Plan for 2021 December 2020
Preparing for Uncertainty

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
2020 has been nuts and if it has taught us anything – it was the need to be able to adapt. So as we’re making plans for 2021, I think it’s important to set flexible goals that will help you do that in case if life takes another twist or turn.
Reflect on 2020
Apply 2020 learnings for your 2021 plan
One of the most important steps when planning
Let’s continue with this reflection, thinking

let’s start with reflecting on 2020, answer the •
How was your 2020 overall? What have you

year? Describe as many details as possible,
done or you achieved? What are you proud of yourself for? •
How did you have to adapt to this year and the changes it has brought?
•
What has worked? And hasn’t worked? What would you do differently if you had to re-do it?
•
What motivated you in 2020? And has held you back?
•
What have you learned from 2020? How has it impacted your world view and priorities?
•
What or Who are you grateful for in 2020?
Where do you want to be this time next thinking of your personal life and career.
•
Pick 3 areas of your life that you want to focus on in 2021
•
For every area listed about, set a feeling goal – how do you want to feel in that area this time next year?
This methodology for setting goals is much more sustainable and allows us to adapt to external circumstances. This way you’re not attaching your success and the feeling of selfworth to an achievement, but to an end result that can be reached in multiple different ways.

Goals don’t have to be set for months from now. You might want to look no further than tomorrow. Think about what motivates you to keep going.
Creating your action plan for 2021 It’s time to plan out how you’re going to achieve those goal feelings! •
For every area of focus in 2021, brainstorm how you’re going to achieve the goal you’ve set for yourself.

Be Flexible! If we learned anything from 2020, it was that flexibility is key to moving forward. Instead of focusing on what you can’t do, focuse on what is possible and looked for the positive. Be willing to change plans, pivot and adapt. Goals don’t have to be set for months from now. You might want to look no further than tomorrow. Think about what motivates you to keep going. According to Kadeen, “All the decisions I make literally involve the question, how will it affect my baby?” To say she is busy as a bee is an understatement. “Before Jaiden I was busy but now she keeps me busier as I am fully occupied with my baby as well as being a manager at Sandals.” Kadeen says her new-born inspires her to go to work every day and perform

TEAM MEMBER GALLERY COMES ALIVE FOR CHRISTMAS It was the mother of all competitions. Mr. Anderson awoke with the brilliant idea that HODs at Sandals Grande St Lucian Spa & Beach Resort should bring Christmas to the team members as they walk through the Gallery. And so they did. It was a true moment of creativity. All of the creative greats came out in full force, only to crumble to the Entertainment Department, declared winners, of the first ever Christmas

EACH ONE HELP ONE It was evident that this Christmas was going to be very different. The signs were there from March 2020, and continued throughout the year. In early December, we at Sandals Grande St Lucian Spa & Beach Resort began to strategize, and our Managing Director Winston Anderson and his team of special advisors came up with the “Each One Help One Plan. It was simple. If each person donated at least one item, we could build a hamper programme to help our team members most affected by events of the year. Two Hundred and Eighty hampers later, each one managed to help someone on the team. The Maintenance team, under the leadership of Ramon Charles, came out in full force to deliver their
