‘All That’s
Good Fun’ Hits the Road!
We all know about the All That’s Good Fun Day—an annual super event where companies across our Sandals group in Jamaica come together at one big location for a full day of sports, friendly rivalry, food, fun, and all-around excitement, created exclusively for team members.
This year, Sandals decided to do things a bit differently with the, wait for it… All That’s Good Roadshow! This event takes the fun on the road, with stops in four major regions of Jamaica where Sandals operates—Whitehouse, Negril, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios.
The Roadshow kicked off in Whitehouse on October 28, thrilling the team at Sandals South Coast, before rolling into Negril to energise the Sandals and Beaches team
there on November 1. It was a blast! Team members enjoyed prizes galore, loads of games, a live performance from a special celebrity artiste, and even appearances from members of SRI’s executive team, who joined in on the fun. The reviews from our team members have been amazing!
Next stop, Montego Bay! But before the show hits the road again, here are some highlights from the Whitehouse and Negril leg.
Sandals Foundation Island Challenge raises over 130K for children’s healthcare
A team of 30 dedicated athletes has successfully completed an inspiring 70-kilometer challenge in the Caribbean, raising over £100,000 ($130,000+ USD) to support the Sandals Foundation’s efforts in enhancing pediatric healthcare in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
This ambitious challenge was organized by Karl Thompson, Managing Director of Unique Vacations UK Ltd., along with his colleague Graeme Saunders, Lead Senior Manager, Groups and Corporate, of Sandals Resorts. The event brought together
participants from the UK, Canada, the USA, and the Caribbean and included multiple endurance events, such as running, sea kayaking, and hiking.
The multi-day itinerary was both grueling and scenic: a 10.5-mile run on Bequia, a 9.3-mile run paired with a 6.8-mile sea kayak along the western coast of Saint Vincent, and a 13.6-mile run on Saint Vincent's mainland. The final day capped off with a challenging five-hour, 4.3-mile uphill hike through the lush terrain near the active La Soufrière volcano, crossing the Wallibou
River approximately 50 times.
Funds raised from this challenge, "Saint Vincent 2024," will be donated through the Sandals Foundation to the pediatric unit at Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, the primary healthcare facility for Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. This vital unit serves children up to 15 years old, offering both inpatient and outpatient care and maintaining a 24-hour emergency service to support the community’s needs.
