Sandals’ All That’s Good Roadshow Delivers Excitement to Team Members
Laughter and pleasant surprises, tears of joy, and pure, unfiltered fun—these were the hallmarks of a recent pop-up event exclusively for team members of Sandals and Beaches Resorts. Imagine multiplying that experience by four, and you’ll begin to grasp the profound impact of the company’s latest initiative — the All That’s Good Roadshow.
This groundbreaking event marked a fresh take on Sandals’ annual Sports and Fun Day. Traditionally, team members across Jamaica would gather at a central location on the island for friendly competition, great food, and high-energy entertainment. But this year, the festivities came to them. The roadshow made its way through four major regions where Sandals operates—Whitehouse, Negril, Montego Bay, and Ocho Rios—bringing the excitement directly to the heart of Sandals’ operations.
Over three weeks, Sandals brought joy to team members across these four regions. The roadshow wasn’t just a celebration, it was a heartfelt gesture of gratitude, brimming with high-energy entertainment, games, and surprises. Executive team members even joined the fun, adding a personal touch to the festivities.
The All That’s Good Roadshow distributed hundreds of prizes, from gift vouchers and tokens to appliances and gift baskets, culminating in the much-anticipated 77-inch TVs. These prizes were made possible through the support of long-time Sandals partners, including Best Dressed Chicken, Sherwin-Williams, Select Brands, Campari Group, Gas Pro Jamaica, Massy Distribution, Sunshine Snacks, Rainforest Seafoods, Wisynco, CPJ, Digicel, Appliance Traders Limited, and ATL Automotive.
From Westmoreland to Ocho Rios, the roadshow proved to be more than just an event. It was a testament to the company’s unwavering dedication to its team members. As Sandals continues to innovate and celebrate its team, the future looks brighter than ever for those who help make Sandals shine.
Jamaica Welcomes New Nassau/ MoBay Air Service
Bahamasair has recently launched a twice-weekly flight service between Nassau and Montego Bay, marking a major milestone in regional connectivity and earning high praise from Jamaican tourism leaders.
The new route was warmly welcomed by industry figures, including Sandals Resorts International Executive Chairman Adam Stewart, who described Jamaica and The Bahamas as "superpower tourism destinations."
Speaking at the inaugural flight’s welcome ceremony at Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Stewart highlighted the economic benefits of this direct air link. "This connection unlocks new opportunities for our economies, enabling locals to conduct business, trade, visit family and friends, and pursue education," he said. "For those of us in tourism, it allows us to broaden our reach and offer multi-destination travel, connecting two of the Caribbean’s most iconic destinations."
Stewart also commended Bahamasair Chair Tanya Pratt and Managing Director Tracy Cooper for their vision in establishing the new route. Tourism Minister for Jamaica, Edmund Bartlett, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the route’s importance in promoting multi-destination tourism. “This flight strengthens regional connectivity and helps bring us closer to a seamlessly connected Caribbean,” he stated.
The Bahamas’ Minister of Immigration and National Insurance, Alfred Sears, also underscored the route’s role in fostering Caribbean unity.
The route holds additional historical significance. Stewart reflected on the success of Air Jamaica’s Kingston-to-Bahamas service in the 1990s, under the leadership of his father, the late Gordon "Butch" Stewart.
With flights operating on Thursdays and Sundays, the NassauMontego Bay service is poised to play a pivotal role in strengthening ties between two of the Caribbean’s leading tourism destinations, while advancing broader regional connectivity goals.

Crafting Bartender Magic at SNG for 30 Incredible Years
A team member who has dedicated decades to an organisation becomes truly invaluable, bringing a wealth of experience, loyalty, and expertise that enriches the entire team. Meet Charlton Christie, a bartender at Sandals Negril Resort and Spa for the past 30 years, whose passion and commitment have made him a beloved cornerstone of our team.
1. When did you begin your journey with Sandals Negril Beach Resort and Spa?
I was just a young lad when I started working at Sandals Negril Resort and Spa in 1990. I began as a bar back, or what they used to call a bar porter back then. My job mostly involved picking up cups from the beach, cleaning the bars, and doing the behind-the-scenes work. It wasn’t exactly bartending, but it gave me a solid foundation. Thankfully, I got promoted in 1994, and that’s when I officially started bartending.
2. What drew you to a career in bartending?
I can definitely say I didn’t choose bartending, bartending chose me. Those four years as a bar porter really opened my eyes to the world of bartending. I used that time as a stepping stone, observing the bartenders closely, picking up their tricks and techniques. My curiosity drove me to learn more and more, knowing that eventually my time would come. I wanted to be ready and confident when it did. Now after 30 years, I’m grateful to be in a position where I can pass on that knowledge to the younger bartenders. It’s rewarding to share what I’ve learned and help them build their own confidence.
3. What keeps you motivated after 30 years of service as a bartender?
It’s a true love and passion for what I do. I genuinely enjoy being a bartender. A lot of people might think it’s just about serving drinks, but it goes much deeper than that. It’s about connecting with guests and enhancing their experience every time they visit Sandals Negril. The job also allows for
creativity, giving me the chance to think outside the box when making cocktails and experimenting with new ideas. At the end of the day, it’s all about making others happy. And even after all these years, I’m still eager to keep improving and adding to my skill set.
4. How has your approach to bartending changed over the years? In this line of work, confidence really goes a long way. It’s not just about being confident enough to interact with guests, but also about being confident in what you do every single day. Over the years, I’ve grown so much that I can proudly say I’ve created my own signature drinks – Crazy Chris that guests now request by name. Even the frozen drinks I’ve crafted have become favourites that our returning guests ask for every time. The beauty of this job is that the work never truly stops; there’s always something new to learn or a way to improve. I’m constantly pushing myself to get better and stay creative.
5. What advice would you give to someone starting their bartending career? Take your time and be patient with yourself. In the beginning, it might seem like a lot to learn, but with every shift, you’ll get better and more confident. Pay close
attention to the details, don’t be afraid to ask questions, and most importantly, learn from those around you. I would also remind them that this is a craft that they will keep improving for years, so just enjoy the journey and never stop learning.

It was a refreshing sight to see the team step out of their uniforms and into an array of glamorous outfits, making it almost difficult to recognize them at first glance. With everyone looking so fabulous, a spontaneous fashion show became the evening's highlight, adding a touch of excitement and flair to the event.
Sandals St Vincent and the Grenadines hosts MICE
From November 12 – 15, 2024, Sandals Saint Vincent and the Grenadines hosted a MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) group from the USA. With 52 participants in attendance, this retreat focused on networking, strengthening already-established connections and capacity building. It featured a myriad of events, including an elaborately executed cocktail reception and farewell dinner –which the attendees were massively impressed by! This was one of many opportunities presented to the resort to showcase the brand and destination, for the purpose of increasing the number of MICE groups that select Sandals Saint Vincent as their venue in 2025 and beyond.

Thoughts of the Unseen
So bold yet still unseen
Yet I'm a mere shadow in a crowded room
Unseen yet I see with a birds-eye view It's the best perk yet. No one knew
The seen can't see what's unseen
Expressions and conversations uncensored and raw
The unseen a presence felt but never willed an echo, so lost beneath their feet.
I'm the silence the seen have never heard a mere shadow, yet hope blooms cause shadows grow...
Beaches Turks and Caicos Celebrates a New Arrival
on October 25, 2024, marked a special milestone for Sidue Hunter from the Butler Elite Services and Shereka Dobson, Assistant Food and Beverage Manager from the Food & Beverage Department, as they welcomed their precious daughter, A'kalia Laura-Kris Hunter, into the world.
Both parents shared the deep significance of their daughter’s name: "A'kalia means ‘complete’ and ‘universe.’ She is truly one of a kind, a beautiful blend of all the love, dreams, and hopes we’ve poured into her. From the way she looks at the world with her curious eyes to the way her laughter fills our hearts, there’s no one else like A'kalia."
With a radiant smile, Dobson reflected, “Every little smile, every new sound she makes, is a reflection of her growing personality. A'kalia has her own special spark. She brings joy, wonder, and endless potential into the world, reminding everyone around her how precious and irreplaceable she is.”
Dobson described the transformative experience of childbirth, saying, “Giving birth was unlike anything else—a journey filled with awe and vulnerability. It was a powerful transformation, where my body, heart, and soul worked in harmony to bring new life into the world. It takes strength to dig deep and discover quiet moments of connection, especially in the rush of emotions when I first held her in my arms. That moment was uniquely magical.”
Reflecting on the birth, she added, “Each contraction, each push, was a step closer to meeting the tiny person I had nurtured for months. There was a kind of magic in that moment.”
One of the most memorable moments for Dobson was when their family first came together to meet little A'kalia. “It was filled with so much love, joy, and wonder. A’kalia cradled gently in her dad’s arms—he had just arrived at the hospital 30 minutes before she was born. The first time he saw and held her, his face lit up with pride and amazement. It was a moment I’ll never forget,” said Dobson, the mother of three.
As she reminisced, Dobson shared, “The room was full of soft laughter and tender smiles as I whispered sweet words to A'kalia, marveling at how tiny and perfect she was. I felt the weight of generations coming together. Time seemed to slow. It was as if I could see the future unfolding—watching my baby grow, surrounded by the love and support of those who came before. That memory, the pure joy and tenderness shared between generations, is something I will cherish forever.”
As they welcomed their new baby girl, it was heartwarming to see how A'kalia's siblings embraced her. “They all have different things to say and different roles to play, but their love for their baby sister was undeniable. Their eyes were wide with wonder, a mix of awe and protectiveness—showing just how deeply they care,” said Dobson.
