You made a difference 2014-2015 ANNUAL REPORT
A Message from the Principal My Dear Friends of Mission, At San Gabriel Mission High School, our young women are empowered intellectually, physically, and spiritually each day. With a unique blend of motivation, depth, character, respect, and integrity, each student is an integral part of the Mission family and our community. We honor the faith and charisms of our founding orders, the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose and the Claretian Missionaries. Veritas, which is Latin for truth, is the name of the Campus Ministry Team, and is also a credo for the entire student body and staff. As they constantly strive for truth in all aspects of their lives, the students find growth in their faith formation through prayer, service, and reflection. At Mission, we serve, we learn, we pray, and we become a better version of ourselves. In a student centered classroom, our young women gain knowledge to make connections in the world around and beyond them. By using a vigorous curriculum with access to Honors, Advanced Placement, and International Baccalaureate programs, students learn to take risks and challenge the status quo. As open minded young women, our students are able to think critically while also respecting diversity. With a balanced curriculum, experienced teachers, and academic counselors, students are prepared to succeed in college and beyond. A vast number of opportunities for extracurricular activities, such as Associated Student Body, Student Council, Athletics, and Veritas Campus Ministry Team, gives our young women the ability to become principled leaders. Students are able to join activities they are interested in as well as create new clubs or activities they are passionate about. It is here at San Gabriel Mission High School where students find their passion through academics, student life, service and community and find a meaningful purpose in this world. As women leaders of the future, our students build their foundation to bring about the much needed change in our ever evolving society. As Principal of San Gabriel Mission High School, I am honored to watch the growth of our young women each and everyday in all aspects of their life. Now is the time to be at Mission, and I am blessed to be a part of it! God Bless,
Ms. Marielle Sallo Principal

“Every teacher Emma had her Where students as strangers and leave as sisters. sophomore year wasbegin inspiring, from Ms. Bueno and Ms. Myer to Ms. #SGMHS Sallo. Each #Sisterhood of these teachers is a subject matter expert (many have received double majors and are furthering their studies!) and as women, they are each incredible role models, showing our girls that there truly is no limit to what can be done with discipline and grace in equal measure.” –The Frattasio Family
