Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a Christian non-profit charity committed to feeding God’s children, hungry in body and spirit. Volunteers hand pack meals specially formulated for malnourished children, and FMSC sends them to partners around the world where they’re distributed to orphanages, schools, clinics, and feeding programs to break the cycle of poverty. FMSC food has reached nearly 70 countries in their history. They also help hurricane victims and sent 1.5 million meals this year to the Bahamas. Each day 6,200 children in the world die due to hunger. You can help save a life! We are looking for volunteers to sign up for one of the two-hour packing shifts and also have jobs that you can do sitting down! Please sign up at sapctucson.org! We really need a lot of help to make this event successful so be sure to invite your friends and neighbors! Thank you! If you have any questions, contact RuthAnn Smithrud at rsmithrud@sapctucson.org.

AMPHI CLOTHING BANK The Amphi Clothing Bank is in desperate need of children’s clothing sizes 4-18. The clothing bank serves the students in the Amphi District who need adequate clothing to prepare them to learn. Do your kids have clothes they have outgrown? You can bag them up and bring them to church and drop at the donation tables or with Sandy Kreamer at the coffee cart. For additional information contact Sandy Kreamer at sa nd ra k rea mer @g mail.com. Thanks for any help you can give in helping all of God’s children.

JESUS TO THE NEEDY The team of Joe and Averyl Morris, our Moment for Mission partners this month, founded Jesus to the Needy in South Africa. Jesus to the Needy feeds, clothes, provides medical services and teaches hundreds of orphans, abandoned children and adults each week. They provide school uniforms and sponsor an annual Christmas party for orphans, helping to restore the smiles to little children’s faces. They conduct large Smart Choices conferences for youth. They read Bible stories in Zulu reaching people for Christ, making converts and discipling people to follow Jesus. Visit jesustotheneedy.com to learn more.

ENCOUNTER JESUS Are you looking for a way to connect with Jesus on a deeper level? A new group called Encounter Jesus will be starting the first week of March. The purpose of the group is to bring together people of all ages to engage in experiences that draw them into a deeper relationship with Jesus

FAITH THAT WORKS TUCSON We would like to thank you all for your support in our non-profit launch of Faith that Works Tucson! We are excited about some of our goals for 2020 and wanted to share them with you. We look forward to taking the Mobile Shower Unit to Northminster Presbyterian Church and Catalina Foothills Presbyterian Church in hopes of recruiting some new volunteers! We will be hosting a back-to-school event for the Amphitheater School District for their neediest families. We will be working in cooperation with the Amphi Foundation, district schools, churches, and others in order to provide a meaningful back to school event that would benefit their families in need. We want to increase FTWT’s visibility and impact on the Tucson Community so on November 15, we will launch our first citywide Service Worship! We would like to partner with an organization(s) for a Christmas outreach for those who are homeless in our community. This outreach would involve dinner and gifts for our homeless friends. These are just a few of the events that God has planned for us! Thank you again for your generosity and prayers! Faith that Works Tucson Board of Directors

and each other. The vision for the Encounter Jesus group is for people to engage in a relationship with Jesus and with each other outside of Sunday morning worship, and be focused on experiencing the living Jesus and not just reading about Him. Check the Weekly News for more information on time and place as we get closer. Questions? Contact Shelly Akins at sakins@sapctucson.org. 3

If you have been a prayer partner in the past and want to volunteer again, please do so! Contact Shelly at sakins@sapctucson.org to volunteer or for more information.

30 HOUR FAMINE FEBRUARY 1-2

On February 1 and 2, our youth group is participating in World Vision’s 30-Hour Famine. It is not right that thousands of kids are dying from hunger each day. We are going without food for 30 hours to raise money so others can eat. It only takes $40 to help feed a child for a month. Our goal is to raise $10,000 for these kids in need and with your help, we can change the world!

Here’s how you can help: Pray, and ask God to bless our students as they overcome hunger. Volunteer, come and join us during our famine weekend. Give, just $40 can feed and care for a child for a month. More information and online donation can be found at 30hourfamine.org or visit sapcyouth.com.

DONATIONS NEEDED! We are currently accepting donations to be auctioned off. Some popular items in the past have been timeshares, dinner parties, service projects, sports memorabilia, large diamonds, and private yachts. Please consider donating and attending our fun event! For more information for questions contact Tim Christian at tchristian@sapctucson.org.

SAPC LIBRARY Are you interested in some great storytelling? The SAPC Library has just received a donation of Christian fiction. The books are located on the north wall of the main Library shelves. Authors include: Davis Bunn, Irene Hannon, Harry Kraus, and Dee Henderson. Irene Hannon’s Men of Valor series are stories about three brothers, each serving in different branches of the military, and how they transition out of the military into their new civilian lives. Davis Bunn’s book, Rare Earth, is a thriller about different countries’ and the search for rare earth metals used in cell phones and other electronic equipment. Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus by Nabeel Qureshi, is a wonderful book about a Muslim who sets out to prove that Allah is real and Jesus is fake, but ends up accepting Christ as his Savior. Jerry Jenkin’s (The Left Behind Series) book, The Valley of the Dry Bones chronicles the journey of a group of people who remain in California to do ministry after most people have abandoned the state. Whether you enjoy reading fiction, non-fiction, biographies, or just want to conduct some research, stop by the library and see us. We are located off the SW Campus Gathering Place.
