Community Bank turns 15 The Boorowa Community Bank will celebrate its 15th birthday on May 15, but not before JLYLQJ DZD\ RYHU PLOOLRQ EDFN WR WKH %RRURZD FRPPXQLW\ RYHU WKLV SDVW \HDUV +DYLQJ JLYHQ DZD\ QXPHURXV JUDQWV WR community organisations as well as sponsorVKLS WR ORFDO VSRUWLQJ FOXEV DQG HYHQWV DV well as grants to major projects, the Community Bank has undoubtedly helped to make Boorowa a better place. The Community Bank is a part of the Bendigo Bank, but is owned by a community-based board as the company Âś%RRURZD &RPPXQLW\ )LQDQFLDO 6HUYLFHV /LPLWHG¡ WUDGLQJ DV WKH %RRURZD &RPPXnity Bank. ,W WDNHV D VKDUH RI %HQGLJR %DQN SURĂ€WV to put back in the community. With a local board deciding on all funding, the community practically funds itself. It opened on May 15 2001 after the former Westpac Branch of Boorowa downsized, and the Council and members of the community at the time approached Bendigo Bank to open a branch in Boorowa. 5HWDLO W\FRRQ 'LFN 6PLWK RIĂ€FLDOO\ opened the bank on that day.
