MAD (museum of arts and design) is a creative space that recognizes craftmanship and focuses on the materials and techniques associated with craft disciplines. The design, acting as an extension of MAD, allows interaction to take place between visitors and artists. This creation of awareness for the process behind art allows for a different perspective. It seeks to open up a new kind of relationship between people and art. Not only do the galleries showcase its pieces but it does so in a way that the display mediums become art as well. Therefore, the viewers look at art through art, and at the same time become art themselves. It’s a way to change the meaning of art and challenges how it can be perceived. 1

origami chair Furniture Design Individual Project Spring 2020 1 month duration
Software Sketchup, Vray AutoCAD
In collaboration with IKEA, the origami chair borrows Japanese craft and combines it with the functional and accessible approach of a knock down furniture. As part of the commission, the design for the packaging of the chair was also executed. For the design of the Origami chair, I was inspired by the art of origami. I incorporated different creasing techniques into the folding of my chair design. The main material being carbon fibre sheets, it is kept upright and sturdy with metal rod stiffeners that could be placed inside the arms. When it is in its collapsed state, it can be fastened and secured with a provided strap and the metal rod stiffeners can stowed inside the built-in back pocket of the chair. The Origami chair can also either be carried or hung with a built in handle. Easy, manageable and no fuss.

+ GRAPHIC DESIGN Interior Design Studio 1 Individual Project Fall 2019 3.5 months duration
Software Sketchup, Vray AutoCAD Photoshop
Photography and graphic design both have two things in common; the use of pixels and the art of composition. For the design of NYU’s department of photography and graphic design, I’ve taken the concept of pixels and composition. Each individual pixel has a purpose and expresses a fraction of a whole image. So when they come together, they create a complete image with an entirely different meaning. This makes pixels multifunctional. I’ve taken this idea of multifunctionality and expressed that throughout the various furniture and other interior design elements that I’ve designed for this university. The goal of the design is similar to the goal of a graphic layout, to provide an attractive and comprehensible environment for learning.

The exhibition comprises of spaces that raise the awareness of how society and media percieves women’s body standards. The intent of this exhibition is to showcase the lack of inclusivity in fashion brands because of limited clothing sizes and the false images of women portrayed by the media. Visitors are given a chance to expose themselves with the harsh realities of body shaming, as well as elements that will teach and remind them to appreciate and be more accepting of their own body image and of those around them through curated interactive art installations and video screenings. By showcasing pieces that exhibit the progress of society in the fashion industry in being more inclusive and accepting, as well as procurring positive affirmations, the aim is to bring hope and allow the visitors to leave the exhibit feeling good about themselves. 4

In order to be a part of a world that grows instead of diminishes, the best way to go about it is to extract the inside out. The premise of this project was to create a flagship store for the e-commerce brand, Public Goods. The aim of this retail space is to better understand how we can nurture nature. By introducing sustainable practices and carrying out eco-friendly activities, it will not only help us better deal with our surroundings but will also aid to bring out the wellness from within ourselves, which is the main concept of this store. The same biodegradable and environmentally friendly materials from the packaging that is used for the products have been integrated into the materials of which they are displayed on. 5

BANGLADESH NATURAL HISTORY
MUSEUM Architecture Thesis Individual Project Fall 2018 4 months duration
Software Sketchup, Vray AutoCAD Photoshop
Medium Oak Veneer Cardboard Jute
The concept for the Bangladesh Natural History Museum was to follow the process of preservation and conservation. I did this by keeping all the existing trees on the site and designed the museum surrounding it, as well as adding more vegetation. Visitors can enjoy this green space by walking along the designed pathways and take shelter underneath the custom shading devices, which were inspired by the trees on the site and were made to purposely blend in with the surrounding. The museum consists of four permanent galleries; Geology, Botany, Zoology, and the Anthropology gallery. The route of the museum is laid out according to the journey of time and development of nature starting and finishing in the same space. The loop starts from the Geology gallery and ends at the Anthropology gallery (from earth to man). The Bangladesh Natural History Museum was designed to mitigate the stereotypical idea of natural history museums and changing it into a place for people to prepare for the future with the help of the past. 6

IAB BOOKSHOP Architecture Studio 2 Individual Project Fall 2015 3 weeks duration
Medium Plastic wood Gettis Board Card Stock
The objective was to come up with an alternative design for the IAB Bookshop, which was present during the Engage Dhaka International Architecture Conference (IAB) in 2015. The main purpose was to redesign a temporary (pop up) bookshop that would better facilitate the visitors and guests of that conference as well as reflect the architectural aspect of the entire event. The design or this bookshop is based on the deconstruction and modification of rectangular strips, where each strip has been bent in different ways to be used for a specific function, such as; a shelf, bench, counter, table and even a light fixture.
