Ambiente, cultura, gastronomia ed ospitalità per una vacanza indimenticabile Il mare, con i suoi incredibili riflessi, così limpido da poter intravedere bianchi fondali di sabbia finissima. Le incredibili calette, le coste, le spiagge. Non sono le uniche attrattive presenti nella Sardegna Sud-Est, ove è impossibile non farsi rapire dalla varietà e la bellezza dei paesaggi, così fedeli nelle coste alle splendide immagini da cartolina note oggi a tutto il mondo e così sorprendenti nell'entroterra. Qui appare la Sardegna meno conosciuta. Quella che non ti aspetti. Una Sardegna capace di “incantare” con i colori accesi di una vegetazione mediterranea e variegata. Montagne aspre, antiche vallate testimoni di una storia millenaria, un ambiente incontaminato e a tratti selvaggio. Immagini, profumi e suoni che si irradiano dal profondo dell'anima di una terra che ha tantissimo da raccontare. Una terra i cui frutti rappresentano la vera essenza di un autentico angolo di paradiso. Chi ha avuto il piacere di visitare la Sardegna e il sud-est in particolare, conosce bene questi sapori e questi aromi e difficilmente li dimentica. Basti pensare al pesce, immancabile nelle tavole sarde, soprattutto nelle zone costiere. Spigole, orate, triglie, grandi pesci di fondale

come dentici, ricciole e cernie. Ma anche deliziosi crostacei come l'aragosta, i gamberi e molluschi d'ogni sorta come polpi, calamari, seppie, arselle e cozze. Che dire poi dei prodotti più tipici come la “bottarga” (autentica delizia preparata con le uova di muggine)? Oppure i formaggi dai sapori decisi e appetitosi, il rinomato maialetto allo spiedo, sapientemente presentato su un letto di mirto profumato, e molte altre delizie. La semplicità e la genuinità sono comuni denominatori nella cucina sarda e così come a tavola, questa stessa semplicità aè rievocata nei gesti della quotidianità e nelle arti. Basti pensare alla musica e agli strumenti musicali più tipici, le launeddas, costruiti con canne palustri attraverso tecniche custodite gelosamente. La materia prima si lega sempre, immancabilmente alla terra, da tempo immemore. Le sonorità prodotte sono dunque ruvide e affascinanti allo stesso tempo.

SARDINIA SOUTH EAST, THE LAND OF DREAMS Those who have had the pleasure of visiting Sardinia, and the south east in particular, know well and appreciate the flavours and aromas that are most typical of this land. Fish is never missing from the Sardinian table, especially in coastal areas. Sea bass, sea bream, mullet, white bream, the great fish of the sea floor such as red snapper, amberjack and grouper, but also delicious crustaceans like lobster, prawns and molluscs of every type. ‘Bottarga’, an authentic delicacy prepared from the eggs of mullet roe, is one of the most famous products. Sardinian cheeses have marked and appetising flavours and often accompany the famous ‘maialetto allo spiedo’, suckling pig roasted on a spit, presented in the traditional way on a bed of perfumed myrtle. Simplicity and authenticity are common themes in Sardinian cuisine. The same simplicity is retained in everyday life and in the arts. The most typical musical instruments in Sardinia are the ‘Launeddas’, made from marsh reed following jealously guarded techniques.

Wer das Vergnügen hatte Sardinien zu besuchen und besonders den Süd-Osten, kennt und schätzt die typischsten Geschmäcke und Aromen dieses Landes. Der Fisch ist unfehlbar auf den sardischen Tischen, hauptsächlich an den Küstenzonen. Seebarsch, Goldbrasse, Meerbarbe, Brasse, große Fische der Wassertiefen wie Zahnbrasse, Seriola dumerili, Zackenbarsch aber auch köstliche Krustentiere wie Langusten, Garnelen und jede Art von Mollusken. Unter den berühmtesten Produkten, der "Rogen", authentische Köstlichkeit, zubereitet mit den Eiern der Meeräsche. Die sardischen Käse haben kräftige und appetitanregende Geschmäcke und oft begleiten sie das berühmte Schwein, am Spieß gebraten, zubereitet nach der Tradition auf einem Bett aus wohlriechender Myrte. Die Einfachheit und die Unverfälschtheit sind gemeinsame Nenner in der sardischen Küche. Dieselbe Einfachheit ist ins Gedächtnis zurückgerufen in den Gesten der Alltäglichkeit und in den Künsten. Die typischsten Musikinstrumente Sardiniens sind "die Launeddas", angefertigt mit Schilfröhren durch Verfahren welche bedacht aufbewahrt werden. Das Rohmaterial ist immer schon seit alten Zeiten mit der Erde verbunden. Das Gebiet des Süd-Osten Sardiniens ist charakterisiert durch die tausendjährige Geschichte und Kultur.

Cagliari, la spiaggia del Poetto e le circostanti falesie della Sella del Diavolo, ecco le meraviglie che la rendono un gioiello nel Mediterraneo. Tra storia e cultura, tra cielo e sole, mare e terra, la città appare come un luogo eletto di un turismo sempre più entusiasta e mai pago di questa straordinaria alchimia di attrattive. Benvenuti a Karalis dunque. La sua luce, la sua storia e le sue bellezze sono apprezzabili nei quartieri storici Marina, Stampace, Castello. Il lungo litorale del Poetto, con i suoi 7 Km. di spiaggia, il fiore all'occhiello di questa perla del Mediterraneo, meta ogni anno di migliaia di turisti provenienti da tutto il mondo. Cagliari, capoluogo della Sardegna vanta una tradizione enogastronomica tipica. La cucina marinara allieta e soddisfa i palati più esigenti, con i suoi frutti freschissimi. Prodotti di un mare cristallino e unico al mondo. Nel 1896, Cagliari era popolata da poco più di 50 mila abitanti. Fino ad allora la città colonizzata era governata da diverse monarchie straniere che si sono succedettero con le trame di un'aristocrazia collegata a doppio filo. I rappresentanti delle grandi famiglie, per la prima volta, in pratica i nobili di Cagliari, fecero strada alla nuova borghesia commerciale e liberale. Il Comune abbandonò le strette stradine di castello (Casteddu, così si chiamava la città), ed uscendo dalle antiche mura fortificate - che in più di un'occasione salvarono la sua gente dalle invasioni - scese a valle. Il cuore pulsante dell'economia si stabilisce davanti al porto, icona della moderna città mercantile. E qui che i pescatori Cagliaritani trovano lo sbocco alla loro attività naturale. Ma se la stessa ubicazione in una posizione così

strategica, fece all'epoca di Cagliari una città mercantile, rimane salvo il concetto che permise che il fianco potesse essere vulnerabile. E' qui che subì i numerosi bombardamenti della Seconda Guerra Mondiale. Il 19 maggio 1950, venne riconosciuta alla città la medaglia d'oro al valor militare. In quel preciso istante il mare riprende tra le sue braccia la città e curandola dalle ferite la rese più affascinante che mai. Il mare rende equilibrio e mette a disposizione dell'uomo le sue grandi risorse rigeneranti. Madre natura compie il suo corso. Come nel caso dello stagno di Molentargius. Un'oasi di pace nel cuore di Cagliari di importanza notevole, in quanto habitat naturale dei bellissimi fenicotteri rosa che qui, come solo in pochissimi altri posti al mondo, nidificano.

CAGLIARI, THE CHARM OF THE PRINCIPAL CITY Cagliari, Poetto beach and the surrounding cliffs of the Sella del Diavolo; these are the wonders that make it a jewel of the Mediterranean. Surrounded by history and culture, sun and sky, earth and sea, the city is emerging as a place sought out by ever more enthusiastic tourists who never tire of its extraordinary mix of attractions. So welcome to Karalis. Its light, its history and its beauty can be appreciated in the historic quarters of Marina, Stampace and Castello. The Poetto coastline, with its 7km of beach, the jewel in the crown of this pearl of the Mediterranean, each year the destination of choice for thousands of tourists from all over the world. Cagliari, principal city of Sardinia, boasts a characteristic wine and gastronomy tradition. The seafood cuisine excites and satisfies even the most demanding palates with

the freshest raw ingredients, produce of a crystalline sea which is unique in the world. In 1896, Cagliari had a population of little more that 50 thousand inhabitants. Until then the colonised city had been ruled by a series of different foreign monarchies who were replaced by an aristocracy very closely connected to the monarchy. For the first time, the representatives of the great families, in essence Cagliari’s nobility, paved the way for the new commercial and liberal bourgeoisie. The Council abandoned the little narrow streets of Castello (Casteddu, as the city was called), and, leaving the city’s ancient fortified walls, which on more than one occasion had saved its people from invasions, came downhill. The beating heart of the economy was established in front of the port, symbol of the modern merchant city. It is here that Cagliari’s fishermen find the source for their natural

activity. But while it was its setting in such a strategic position that in the past made Cagliari a merchant city, it is also the attribute that made the area vulnerable and during the Second World War it suffered numerous bombardments. On 19 May 1950, the medal of honour was awarded to the city for military bravery. In this precise instant it was as though the sea took the city into its arms again and, healing its wounds, made it more enchanting than ever. The sea restored equilibrium and revitalised man with its great regenerating resources. Mother Nature completed her course. This is also the case of the lagoon of Molentargius. It is an oasis of peace in the heart of Cagliari, of significant importance thanks to its role as the natural habitat of the beautiful pink flamingoes that nest here, one of very few nesting sites in the world.

Sosta obbligatoria a Villasimius e Costa Rei, per ammirare un mare da favola

Un percorso unico che percorrendo il Viale Poetto partendo da Cagliari, offre un colpo d'occhio suggestivo sugli stagni di Quartu Sant'Elena (a pochi km dal capoluogo e rinomatissimi per le grandi colonie di fenicotteri rosa che li popolano) da un lato e dall'altro direttamente sul lungomare. Chilometro dopo chilometro, procedendo in direzione Villasimius, il paesaggio muta, mostrandosi a tratti aspro nella scarsa vegetazione. È qui che la strada si inerpica tra le montagne. Pochi tornanti dividono lo sguardo ignaro del visitatore da un panorama spettacolare. Superate le prime montagne appare il mare. Azzurro e limpido, ad accarezzare deliziose insenature e spiagge bianchissime. I litorali di Geremeas, Torre delle Stelle, Solanas, si fanno ammirare dall'alto, suscitando in chi li scruta l'irrefrenabile desiderio di fare CASTIADAS, CALA SINZIAS

almeno un tuffo in quelle acque cristalline per poi adagiarsi al sole sulla sabbia finissima e abbagliante. Proseguendo il percorso, la tappa obbligata è Villasimius. Un vitale centro turistico preso d'assalto ogni anno da migliaia di turisti. Qui sorge anche l'Area Marina Protetta di Capo Carbonara-Villasimius. Un vero paradiso per gli amanti del diving, per la ricchezza e la bellezza dei fondali, habitat incontaminato di una fauna acquatica unica al mondo. Da queste parti, le vacanze possono rivelarsi davvero esaltanti. La molteplicità di strutture ricettive (alberghi, camping, ristoranti, locali di ogni genere), l'ef-

ficienza dei servizi, rappresentano una risposta efficace alla forte domanda turistica specialmente nel “clou” del periodo estivo. C'è spazio infatti per il puro divertimento, ma anche l'opportunità di godersi una vacanza in pieno relax. Anche Costa Rei è altra rinomatissima meta (non lontana da Villasimius), con il suo grazioso centro urbano e la piazzetta che accoglie spesso manifestazioni e sagre di vario genere. La spiaggia di Costa Rei si caratterizza per la sabbia dorata e le imponenti dune sabbiose. Il mare è un'autentica piscina con le acque trasparenti e popolate da miriadi di piccoli pesci che talvolta,

si avvicinano curiosi ai piedi dei bagnanti in prossimità del bagnasciuga. Per poter visitare le più belle spiagge del Sud-Est Sardegna e godere a pieno delle bellezze che esse offrono, occorrerebbero mesi. I luoghi, i litorali, i fondali sono talmente vari e meravigliosi ognuno per le sue peculiarità, che meriterebbero lunghi soggiorni da giugno fino a settembre inoltrato. Da Costa Rei, proseguendo verso Muravera, Villaputzu, Porto Corallo, Marina di Tertenia e Marina di Gairo si osservano paesaggi più selvaggi e certamente non meno suggestivi.

JOURNEY ALONG THE COAST, FROM CAGLIARI TOWARDS OGLIASTRA Starting with ‘Poetto’, the beach of the masses, which has always been dear to the Cagliaritans, many Sardinians from the inland area and the ever-present groups of foreign tourists, an impressive itinerary unfolds. A unique trail which, departing from Cagliari, offers an enchanting view of the lagoon of Quartu Sant’Elena on one side (a few kilometres from the main city and very famous for the large colonies of pink flamingoes that inhabit it) and on the other directly out onto the seafront. Proceeding in the direction of Villasimius, the landscape changes and the road begins to climb up into the mountains. A few turns separate the visitor’s unsuspecting eyes from a spectacular panorama. Once you pass the first mountains, the sea appears. The coastline of Geremeas, Torre delle Stelle and Solanas can be admired from above, provoking the desire just to jump into the cristalline water. Continuing on the route, Villasimius is an unmissable stop. A vibrant tourist centre that is invaded by thousands of tourists each year. Here you can find the Protected Marine Area of Capo Carbonara-Villasimius. A real paradise for diving enthusiasts because of the richness and beauty of the ocean floor, an unspoilt habitat which is home to aquatic species unique in the world. The plethora of accommodation, including hotels, campsites, restaurants and bars of every type, and well organised facilities, represent an efficient response to high tourist demand. Costa Rei is another very famous destination not far from Villasimius, with a pleasant town centre and town square which often hosts events and fairs of various kinds. Proceeding towards Muravera, Villaputzu, Porto Corallo, Marina di Tertenia and Marina di Gairo you will be following scenery which is wilder but certainly no less impressive. Here nature is luxuriantly evident in the vegetation. Sometimes it is necessary to pass through entire pine forests or large areas of undergrowth and Mediterranean maquis to reach the beaches.

Vom Strand der Hunderttausenden, "der Poetto" seit eh und je bevorzugtes Ziel für die Einwohner von Cagliari und für die vielen Sarden welche vom Hinterland kommen und für eine beträchtliche Vertretung von ausländischen Touristen, entwickelt sich eine wunderschöne Route. Eine einzigartige Strecke, welche von Cagliari ausgehend, einen beeindruckenden Blickfang auf die Teiche von Quartu S. Elena bietet, nur wenige Kilometer von der Hauptstadt entfernt und sehr berühmt wegen der großen Kolonien von rosaroten Flamingos welche sie auf beiden Seiten, direkt an der Strandpromenade besetzen. Richtung Villasimius weiterfahrend, ändert sich die Landschaft und die Straße schlängelt sich zwischen den Bergen hoch. Wenige Haarnadelkurven trennen den unwissenden Blick des Besuchers von einem überwältigenden Panorama. Nachdem man die ersten Berge hinter sich gelassen hat erscheint das Meer. Die Küsten von Geremeas, Torre delle Stelle, Solanas lassen sich von oben bewundern und wecken in jenem der sie betrachtet einen unentbehrlichen Wunsch wenigstens einen Sprung in jene kristallklaren Gewässer zu machen. Fortfahrend auf der Strecke ist die obligatorische Etappe Villasimius, ein lebhaftes Touristenzentrum jedes Jahr von tausenden Touristen bestürmt. Hier erhebt sich die geschützte Meeresfläche von Capo CarbonaraVillasimius. Ein echtes Paradies für die Liebhaber des Diving, wegen des Reichtums und der Schönheit der Wassertiefen, unberührtes Habitat einer weltweit einzigen Wasserfauna. Die Vielfalt der Beherbergungstrukuren wie Hotels, Camping, Restaurants, Lokale jeder Art, die Effizienz der Dienstleistungen stellen eine überzeugende Antwort gegenüber der starken Touristenanfrage, dar. Costa Rei ist ein sehr berühmtes Ziel, nicht weit entfernt von Villasimius, mit seinem reizenden Stadtzentrum und der kleinen Piazza die Veranstaltungen Volksfeste verschiedener Art aufnimmt. Nach Muravera, Villaputzu, Porto Corallo, Marina di Tertenia und Marina di Gairo fortfahrend, beobachtet man wildere Landschaften, aber bestimmt nicht weniger eindrucksvoll. Hier zeigt sich die Natur wuchernd in der Vegetation.

IN VIAGGIO, SOSPESI TRA CIELO E MARE

Partendo da Cagliari, si attraversa il Golfo degli Angeli, lungo la strada che separa la spiaggia del Poetto dalle saline del Parco di Molentargius, tra i colori intensi di questi specchi d’acqua e dei fenicotteri rosa. Raggiunto il Litorale del Margine Rosso si prosegue per Località Capitana dove la strada comincia a inerpicarsi lungo la scogliera. Da qui il nastro asfaltato, si spiega in un percorso tortuoso, tra baie adornate da acqua cristallina, dai colori più chiari della riva al blu intenso al largo e promontori dalle cui sommità, le torri silenziose, proteggevano le coste dalle invasioni dei pirati barbareschi. Dopo pochi km si incontra la spiaggia di “Mari Pintau” ovvero mare dipinto e subito dietro il rilievo, l’abitato di Geremeas con la sua lunga (e/o candida) spiaggia. Tra cale e promontori si giunge a Torre delle Stelle il cui nome originario, Turre ‘e is Teulasa (torre delle tegole) fu erroneamente interpretato dai cartografi, nella realizzazione delle prime mappe nella prima metà del 1900. Curve e tornanti a picco sul mare ci conducono a Solanas, frazione del comune di Sinnai e da qui comincia una breve salita che conduce al promontorio di Capo Boi. Chi viaggia su due ruote può optare per una alternativa che allunga di soli 2 km il tragitto, riprendendo il tracciato originario della vecchia strada provinciale, che consente di fare il periplo del colle di Capo Boi, sulla cui cima è posta l’omonima Torre. Il fondo stradale, sterrato, non è in ottime condizioni, ma consente il passaggio di un’auto. Si consiglia comunque il transito alle sole moto e bici, avendo sempre la massima prudenza per la mancanza di protezioni (oppure di

guard-rails). Il paesaggio offre alla vista scenari davvero suggestivi che meritano una sosta per scattare qualche foto, tra le limpide acque di Solanas e i promontori tra Porto Sa Ruxi e Capo Carbonara. Rientrati nella strada principale ci si avvia lungo la discesa che in 8 km porta nella rinomata Villasimus. E’ d’obbligo una visita a Capo Carbonara, estremo Sud della

Costa orientale per osservare, dalla torre di Porto Giunco, uno degli luoghi più incantevoli che la natura potesse donare a questa terra. Il viaggio prosegue ora verso nord, prendendo la SP 18 in località Simus e da lì verso P.ta Molentis. I giochi cromatici tra lo sfondo del mare e gli oleandri in fiore ci accompagnano tra le curve sinuose, scorgendo nel blu intenso del mare

Starting from Cagliari, you go across the Gulf of the Angels, along the road which separates the Poetto beach from the Molentargius Park salt lake, among the vibrant colours of these mirrors of water and pink flamingos. After reaching the Margine Rosso coast, you continue towards the Capitana district where the road begins to climb up the cliff. From here the asphalted road begins a tortuous route, among crystal clear water bays, from the clear colours of the shore to the deep blue of the offshore sea and headlands, from the summit of which the silent towers once protected the coast from Barbary pirate invasions.After a few kilometres you come to "Mari Pintau" (Painted Sea) beach and just behind the hill, the village of Geremeas with its long white beach. Between bays and headlands you arrive at Torre delle Stelle, whose original name, Turre 'e is Teulasa (Tower of Tiles) was wrongly interpreted by cartographers while drawing up the first maps in the first half of the 20th century. After a stretch of curves and sharp bends going down to the sea, you arrive at Solanas, hamlet of the district of Sinnai and from here a short climb begins, leading to the promontory of Capo Boi. If you are travelling on two wheels you can opt for an alternative route which adds only 2 kilometres to the journey, taking the original route of the old provincial road, which allows you to go round the Capo Boi Hill, on the top of which you can find the tower of the same name. The dirt road is not in very good condition, but cars can pass. We recommend, however, that only motorbikes and bicycles use the road, taking great

care because of the absence of guard-rails. The landscape offers beautiful views which deserve to be photographed, including the clear waters of Solanas and the promontories between Porto Sa Ruxi and Capo Carbonara. Returning to the main road you start a long descent and after 8 kilometres you arrive at the well-known small town, Villasimus. A visit to Cape Carbonara, in the extreme south of the East Coast, should not be missed. From the tower of Porto Giunco, one of the most beautiful places of natural beauty imaginable can be observed. The journey continues north now: taking the SP 18 in the Simus district and going towards P.ta Molentis. As you take the bends you can appreciate the combination of the colour of the sea and the oleanders in bloom and, in the deep blue sea, you can make out the Isle of Serpentara. Now the landscape becomes more gentle with flat country and the white beaches of Cala Pira, Cala Sinzias and Santa Giusta, before arriving in Costarei.From here you go through the village close to the long sandy coastline almost 8 km long, up to the volcanic territory of Cape Ferrato, going down which, along the dirt road, you can make out the isolated beaches of Cala Sa Figu, P.to S 'Ilixi, Feraxi and, in the background, the coastal ponds of Colostrai and Feraxi. You continue along the dirt road and at the intersection you turn right and follow the main road, go over the bridge on the Rio Picocca and turn left, at the intersection turn right and proceed to S. Priamo, and here take the SS125, which leads to Muravera.

L’area marina protetta di Villasimius è stata istituita nel 1998. Si estende nell’estrema parte del sud-est della Sardegna, quasi a formare un ideale triangolo e comprende un territorio ed una varietà di specie marine d’inestimabile valore. Atta alla protezione dello spazio naturale che essa comprende, lo scopo che si prefigge è quello di coniugare uno sviluppo socio-economico vantaggioso, il rispetto dell’ecosistema. L’area è stata suddivisa in tre zone a seconda delle specie che vi abitano: riserva integrale, generale o parziale, dove sono vieta-

te la caccia, la pesca e la discarica dei rifiuti, oltre a tutte le attività che possano compromettere il perfetto equilibrio della natura. Negli anni passati il mare di Villasimius servì da passaggio per i popoli che instauravano legami con le città portuali del continente e offriva altresì un ottimo riparo dai venti per le navi mercantili. Oggi ciò che veramente merita attenzione è il mondo sommerso che conserva le testimonianze della lunga frequentazione dell’uomo in queste

acque, come i relitti di alcune navi naufragate, che possono essere visitati grazie agli appositi “sentieri blu”. Inoltre, i fondali contano la presenza di numerose specie di fauna e flora marina, come la pinna nobilis e la posidonia oceanica. Tutto questo ha un valore e un’importanza fondamentale per far sì che tutti in futuro, possano godere di questo straordinario spettacolo sottomarino.

THE MAGIC OF THE UNDERWATER WORLD The protected sea area of Villasimius was established in 1998. It spreads out in the extreme part of the south-east of Sardinia, almost forming an ideal triangle, and it comprehends a territory and a variety of sea species of priceless value. It aims to respect and protect the ecosystem,promoting a fruitful social-economic development. The area has been divided into three zones according to the species there living: integral, general or partial reserve, where all the activities that might compromise the perfect balance of nature, such as hunting, fishing and dumping are prohibited.

In the past the sea of Villasimius was a passage for the people who made deals with the maritime towns of the continent and was also an excellent shelter from the winds for the mercantile boats. What is really worth the attention today is the underwater world which keeps the testimonies of the man’s presence, such as the relicts of some wrecked ships which can be visited thanks to appropriate “blue itineraries”. Moreover, the depths count the presence of many species of sea flora and fauna, such as “pinna nobilis” and “posidona oceanica”. It all has a fundamental value and importance in order to let everybody enjoy this extraordinary underwater show in the future.

MURAVERA LUNGHE SPIAGGE BIANCHE

esclusivamente ad una cooperativa di pescatori, che ha salvaguardato nel tempo le specie più rare. La località più conosciuta per le sue spiagge e appartenente a Muravera, è senz’altro Costa Rei, a metà strada fra Muravera e Villasimius. Muravera è dotata di un piccolo ma efficiente ospedale, negozi di ogni tipo, un punto informazioni e una radio locale che diffonde nell’etere la musica dell’estate. Feste e sagre paesane sono numerose durante la stagione estiva. L’isola pedonale nel centro della zona consente di passeggiare e fare shopping in totale tranquillità. ph. B

Muravera, situata lungo l’Orientale Sarda, è il centro più importante del Sarrabus-Gerrei. Fu dominata dai Pisani fino al 1324, e da allora fu protetta dalla famiglia Carroz, appartenente alla contea di Quirra, fino al 1839, anno in cui i feudi furono aboliti. All’interno del paese è possibile visitare monumenti d’interesse storico: la chiesa di San Nicola del 1400, di stile tardo-gotico e il Portico Petretto del XIX secolo. Sul litorale si ergono la Torre dei Dieci Cavalli risalente al XVI secolo e quella di Torre Salinas, nate per contrastare le incursioni saracene. Nella marina di San Giovanni non solo sabbia e acqua chiarissima, ma anche l’omonima peschiera, in cui sono allevate decine di specie diverse di pesci, che si potranno gustare freschissimi in tutti i ristoranti della zona, un chiosco per rinfrescarsi dopo una partita a beach-volley, un’area per il noleggio dei pedalò. La spiaggia di Torre Salinas, incuneata fra gli scogli che la separano dalla località Colostrai, non lontana dalla salina, in cui vivono per alcuni mesi dell’anno splendidi fenicotteri rosa, che trovano qui e nel complesso degli stagni vicini una vera oasi naturale. E ancora, le spiagge di Cristolaxedu e Colostrai, sabbia finissima e sconfinata, e circondate da un’inviolata campagna e da uno specchio d’acqua qual è lo stagno di Colostrai, dove cormorani, fenicotteri, aironi, tuffetti, riposano nei mesi più caldi. LONG WHITE BEACHES Muravera is the most important centre of SarrabusGerrei and it's located along the Orientale Sarda main road. It was ruled by the Pisans until 1324, and since then it was protected by the Carroz family, part of the county of Quirra, until 1839 when this kind of domain was abolished. Inside the small town you can visit monuments of historical importance: the Late Gothic church of San Nicola (1400) and the Portico Petretto of the 19th Century. On the coast stand the Torre dei Dieci Cavalli (The tower of the ten horses) of the 16th Century and Torre Salinas, erected in order to contrast Saracen attacks. Not only sand and clear water in the marina of San Giovanni, but also a kiosk where you can freshen up after a beach-volley match, a pedal boat rental and the homonymous fishpond, where dozens of different fish species are farmed and then can tasted in every restaurant of the zone Torre Salinas beach, wedged into

rocks which separate it from Colostrai, is not far from the salina where beautiful pink floyds can find a natural oasis for some months every year. Moreover, Cristolaxedu and Colostrai, endless finest sand beaches surrounded by incontaminated nature and the expanse of water of Colostrai where cormorants, pink floys, herons and dabchicks can rest in the hottest months. It has been a protected area since 1989 and only a fishermen's cooperative, which has safeguarded the rarest species, is allowed to fish. Costa Rei, half way between Muravera and Villasimius, is without any doubts the most known spot of Muravera. Muravera has a small but efficient hospital, all kinds of shops, an info-point and a local radio which plays the songs of the summer. Situato nella costa sud orientale della Sardegna, il territorio di Muravera è considerato il centro del Sarrabus e dista circa 64 km. da Cagliari. Ha un clima mite con piogge concentrate in brevi periodi dell’anno, soprattutto in autunno e in inverno; con temperature che variano dai 10° C nel periodo invernale ai 28°C in quello estivo. La morfologia del territorio è variegata, i monti, sviluppandosi verso est e digradano dolcemente verso la costa, delimitano pianure d’origine alluvionale, solcate da fiumi e numerosi torrenti tra cui il principale è il Flumendosa, un tempo chiamato Soeprus.

TRAMONTO SUGLI STAGNI

I rilievi montuosi non superano quasi mai i 500 metri d’altitudine e offrono suggestivi panorami mozzafiato. Il territorio, per lungo tempo tagliato fuori dalle più importanti vie di comunicazione, può vantare oggi di un patrimonio boschivo di particolare fascino che racchiude in sé ambienti incontaminati dove vivono differenti specie di animali selvatici tra cui cinghiali, cervi e aquile reali e dove la flora nei vari periodi dell’anno riserva ai visitatori una moltitudine di colori e profumi. Di particolare interesse è la foresta di Baccu Arrodas, un fitto bosco di macchia mediterranea, attrezzato per il ristoro nelle lunghe passeggiate primaverili dove è possibile visitare l’omonima miniera nella quale si estraeva l’antimonio e l’argento.

STAGNI E LAGUNE Patrimonio naturale di grande prestigio sono gli Stagni, zone umide di notevole interesse naturalistico-faunistico soprattutto per la presenza di numerose specie d’avifauna. THE CHARM OF A PRECIOUS LAND Located on the south-eastern coast of Sardinia, the territory of Muravera is considered the centre of the Sarrabus and is about 64 km from Cagliari. It has a mild climate with showers during brief periods of the year, usually in the fall and winter; with temperatures that vary from 10°C in the winter 28°C in the summer. The territory's morphology is varied with mountains all along the eastern side that slope gently towards the coast, marking off the flood plains where streams and numerous rivers run through them. The main river is the Flumendosa, once known as Soeprus. The mountains are usually not higher than 500 meters and some of the best views can be seen from their peaks. For a very long time, this territory was completely cut off from important means of communication. Today it boasts a fascinating woodland heritage enclosing an uncontaminated environment where different wild species such as boars, deer and golden eagles live and where the plant life, during various periods of the year, lets visitors enjoy a multitude of

colours and scents. Of particular interest is the area of Baccu Arrodas, a thick wood filled with Mediterranean bush. This area has tables and benches so that visitors may stop and eat during their spring outings. There's also the mine with the same name where antimony and silver were once extracted. SWAMPS AND LAGOONS The Swamps are very precious natural heritages. These humid areas have a plant and animal wildlife of great interest, especially for the presence of birds. La natura palpita a Muravera, e parla al visitatore attento, capace d’ascoltare. Alcuni luoghi più di altri rigenerano, ricaricano, regalano un benessere da consumarsi lentamente, sprofondano in un atavico contatto con la terra da amare e da esplorare. Silenzioso e morbido, lo Scoglio di Peppino, se raggiunto durante la primavera o la bassa stagione estiva si presenta per quel che è: un megalitico blocco di granito lunare, carezzato dal sole e abbracciato per tutti i suoi 30 metri di larghezza da acqua tiepida e sabbia friabile. Pare a tutta prima una grossa balena che riposa sul limitare del bagnasciuga. L’insenatura che ospita questa meraviglia della natura offre al turista un arenile morbido e fino, d’oro e borotalco, che degrada lentamente e che offre basse pozze d’acqua tiepida, che sembrano più che frange di mare, piscine riscaldate dal sole per pochi fortunati. Tutto intorno la spiaggia è carezzata da una fitta e profumata foresta di ginepri rossi, modellati dal vento, forti e legnosi, ben ancorati alla sabbia, che danno forma e carattere a più d’un litorale isolano.

Nature pulsates in Muravera and talks to the attentive visitor, who is able to listen. Some places more than others regenerate and recharge you, giving you a wellness to be enjoyed slowly, gently sinking you in an ancestral contact with this land, a land to be loved and explored. Silent and soft, the Scoglio di Peppino, if you reach it during the spring or low summer season is exactly what you get: a megalithic block of lunar granite, gently caressed by the sun and its entire 30 meters of width embraced by warm waters and powdery sands. At first glance it looks like a giant whale resting on the shore. The cove where this wonder of nature lies has golden and powdery white soft sandy shores, that gently slope downward forming low puddles of warm water that look like pools heated from the sun rather than parts of the sea, which can be enjoyed by select few. Everything around the beach is caressed by a thick and perfumed forest of red junipers, shaped by the wind, strong and very sturdy, well anchored to the sand, that gives shape and character to more than one island coastline. THE HAVENS CAPO FERRATO Part of a preservation and promotion project of the sandy coastlines, with the creation of a protected marine area and with the establishment of the "Oasi Naturalistica Capo Ferrato" (Capo Ferrato Nature Haven). This area was rendered more attractive with the addition of paths and break areas, allowing visitors to reach Monte Ferru and the coastal tower with the same name. From this tower there are breathtaking views of the entire coastal area. MONT’ARBU One of the most beautiful mountain woods; stretching for about 1600 hectares on a peak that is 803 meters high. The vegetation is made up of high Mediterranean bush, with magnificent centuries-old holm oaks along with cork oaks, black pines, holly, yew trees, mastic trees, arbutus and a great quantity of rare flowers. There are different species of wildlife thus allowing you to see, along the paths, deer and boars, a few wildcats, dormice, martens and golden eagles. NATURALIA The Centre is located in Borgata di Feraxi, immersed in the splendid nature swamp haven of Colostrai and Feraxi. It supports local environmental policies, develops, brings awareness and preserves the vast natural and environmental heritage of the territory. It is active as a nature Observatory whereby it carries out studies and research, census, preservation activities and management of the environmental and biodiversity heritage of the territory; it is also an environmental educational Centre (CEAS) developing and creating campaigns and educational initiatives along with awareness and environmental animation projects; it is also a nature Eco-museum, with taxidermy collections of birds and mammals, eggs, minerals and insects. It has ascientific-nature library with over 400 books and 50 series of national and international magazines.

È protagonista di un progetto di salvaguardia e promozione della fascia costiera sabbiosa, con la nascita di un’area marina protetta e l’istituzione dell’“Oasi Naturalistica Capo Ferrato”, resa ancor più fruibile con percorsi e aree di sosta, che consentono l’accesso a Monte Ferru e l’omonima torre costiera, da cui è possibile ammirare il panorama costiero.

Una delle più belle foreste montane; si estende per circa 1600 ettari su una cima alta 803 metri. La vegetazione presente è costituita da macchia mediterranea alta, con la presenza di magnifici lecci secolari, accompagnati da sugheri, carpini neri, agrifogli, tassi, lentisco e corbezzolo e una quantità di elementi floristici rari. La fauna presente presente in differenti specie permette di vedere, percorrendo i sentieri cervi e cinghiali, qualche gatto selvatico, ghiri, martore e aquile reali.

NATURALIA

Il Centro si trova nella Borgata di Feraxi, immerso nelle splendide oasi naturalistiche degli stagni di Colostrai e Feraxi. Sostiene le politiche ambientali locali, valorizza, fa conoscere e salvaguarda il vasto patrimonio naturalistico ed ambientale del territorio. È attivo come Osservatorio naturalistico per cui svolge studi e ricerche, censimenti, azioni di tutela e gestione del patrimonio ambientale e della biodiversità del territorio; funge da Centro di educazione ambientale (CEAS) con cui progetta e realizza campagne e iniziative di educazione, sensibilizzazione e animazione ambientale; è inoltre Eco-museo naturalistico, con al suo interno collezioni tassidermiste di uccelli e mammiferi, di uova, di minerali e di insetti. Durante l’estate poi, sono frequenti manifestazioni musicali, sagre e gli immancabili spettacolo folkloristici tanto apprezzati dai visitatori che possono così avvicinarsi alle antiche tradizioni del Sarrabus. Villaputzu, situato all'estremo nord del Sarrabus, è un centro che si è sviluppato intorno al X secolo: a questo periodo risalgono, infatti, le prime incursioni arabe contro le coste, che provocarono la migrazione della popolazione locale verso l'interno. A pochi chilometri dal paese si può raggiungere la località Porto Corallo, area costiera costituita da un lungo arenile interrotto in un tratto dalla foce del Flumendosa, il secondo fiume dell'Isola, che separa Villaputzu da Muravera. Porto Corallo è così chiamato poiché nelle insenature tra gli scogli è possibile estrarre frammenti di splendido corallo. Da alcuni anni è in funzione il porto, capace di 500 posti barca. Antistante il porto, sorge la Torre edificata dagli spagnoli nel XVI secolo per contrastare le aggressioni dei pirati barbareschi. Patrimonio culturale di Villaputzu sono anche il castello di Quirra e la torre di Murtas: il primo, situato vicino la chiesa di San Nicola, poco distante dal paese, fu per diversi decenni residenza dei conti Carroz, dotato di torri, di un cortile interno e di alcuni ambienti tipici delle costruzioni del periodo, come l'abitazione del castellano, la cappella e l'armeria. La seconda invece fu costruita circa un secolo dopo il castello per fermare gli attacchi costieri e, insieme alla torre di San Lorenzo e a Torre Motta, fa parte del sistema difensivo pre-

disposto nei secoli. Il paese organizza nel periodo estivo, così come nell'arco dell'intero anno, manifestazioni e festività: una delle più emozionanti, durante l'estate, è la festa in onore della Madonna del Mare, che si tiene in agosto a Porto Corallo.

VILLAPUTZU JEWEL OF SOUTH EAST COAST On the extreme North of Sarrabus, Villaputzu developed around the 10th Century when the Arabs started raiding the coasts, thus forcing the local popolation into migrating inwards. Only a few kilometers away is Porto Corallo, a long sandyshore interrupted at a point by the mouth of the Flumendosa, the longest river of the island, which separates Villaputzu from Muravera. Porto Corallo owes its name to the coral which can be extracted from its creeks. A port capable of welcoming 500 boats has being operating for some years. Torre di Porto Corallo (The Tower of Porto Corallo) stands opposite the port. This tower was built by the Spanish in the 16th Century in order to contrast the pirates' aggressions. Castello di Quirra (The Castle of Quirra) and (La Torre di Murtas) are also part of the cultural inheritance of Villaputzu. The Castle is close to Chiesa di San Nicola (The Church of San Nicola), not far from the small town. With its towers, an inner garden and some typical rooms of the period, such as the accomodation of the lord of the manor, the chapel and the armoury, this Castle was the residence of the Earls of Carroz for several decades. The Tower of Murtas was built about a century later, in order to stop attacks from the coast. Other examples of this defensive system are Torre di San Lorenzo (The Tower of San Lorenzo)and Torre Motta (The Tower of Motta). Villaputzu organizes shows and feasts all year long. One of the most moving Summer feasts is the Feast in honour of Madonna del Mare (Madonna of the Sea), held in August in Porto Corallo. In addition to the most known tourist destinations Villasimius, Costa Rey and Muravera, there is a less famous, yet fascinating place to see in the area: Porto Corallo, a small patch of land washed by the sea and protected by the mountains. Long, silver-

coloured sand beaches alternate with gorgeous reefs where you can lay down and sun bathe. There are many small coves scattered along the coast, where you can swim and relax, mirror calm creeks where you can admire the lush sea flora. And, if you just turn around, you will discover that you are immersed in the green of Mediterranean shrub, full with colours and fragrances that pervade junipers, century-old oaks, oleasters, and wide streeps of myrtle. Porto Corallo is a small paradise, equipped with all sorts of comforts. From the small harbour you can take a walk on the coastline, where you will find a nice camping place, some picnic areas and finally the beach, equipped with refreshment booths, sunshade and deck-chair rent service, as well as a diving center. Close to the beach there is a recently built tourist resort, with its pretty stone houses in the typical Mediterranean colours. Tra le più note località turistiche come Villasimius, Costa Rey e Muravera, fa timidamente capolino Porto Corallo, uno squarcio di terra bagnato dal mare e protetto dalle montagne. Distese di sabbia, dal tipico colore argentato,sono interrotte da spettacolari scogliere su cui ci si può distendere per godersi il sole; lungo tutta la costa sono sparse piccole calette dove poter stare in totale tranquillità, insenature naturali creano specchi d’acqua cristallina in cui ci si può immergere per ammirare la flora marina. Dalla stessa spiaggia basta voltare lo sguardo per accorgersi di esser immersi nel verde della macchia mediterranea, colori e profumi danzano magicamente tra ginepri, querce secolari, olivastri e immancabili distese di mirto selvatico. Wenige Kilometer vom Ort entfernt befindet sich die Lokalität von Porto Corallo, Küstenstück, aus einem sandigen Küstenstreifen bestehend, der in einem Stück von den Mündung des Flumendosas- der längste Fluss Sardiniens, der Villaputzu von Muravera trenntunterbrochen wird. Porto Corallo wird so genannt, weil von den Einbuchtungen zwischen seinen Klippen Bruchstücke von wundervollen Korallen zu gewinnen sind. Seit einigen Jahren ist der Hafen in Betrieb, mit 500 Bootsplätzen. Dem Hafen gegenüber liegt der Turm von Porto Corallo- im 16. Jahrhundert von den Spaniern gebaut, um den Überfällen der barbarischen Piraten entgegenzuwirken. Kulturelles Erbgut von Villaputzu sind auch das Schloss von Quirra und der Turm von Murtas. Das erstgenannte liegt nahe der Kirche von San Nicola, nicht weit von der Ortschaft entfernt, das Schloss war jahrzehntelang die Residenz der Grafen von Carroz , es besteht aus Türmen, einem Innenhof und einigen Bereichen, die für Konstruktionen dieser Zeit typisch sind, wie das Haus des Schlossherrn, die Kapelle und die Waffenkammer. Der Zweitgenannte wurde ca. ein Jahrhundert nach dem Schloss gebaut, um den Angriffen an den Küsten entgegenzuwirken, gemeinsam mit den Türmen von San Lorenzo und Motta ist er Teil eines über Jahrhunderte vorbereiteten Verteidigungssystem. Die Gemeinde organisiert im Sommer und auch das ganze Jahr über Veranstaltungen und Feste. Eines der emotionsreichsten Feste wird während des Sommers veranstaltet, es ist das Fest zu Ehren der Madonna des Meeres, welches im August am Hafen von Porto Corallo stattfindet. Neben den bekanntesten touristischen Zielen, wie Villasimius, Costa Rey und Muravera, gibt es im

Gebiet einen weniger bekannten, obwohl faszinierenden Ort, den man besuchen muß: Porto Corallo, kleine Landsstrecke zwischen Meer und Bergen. Lange, silberfarbene Sandstrände wechseln mit dem herrlichen Felsenriff, wo man liegen und sonnenbaden kann. Es gibt zahlreiche kleine Büchte, wo man schwimmen und sich entspannen kann, sowie die üppige Meerflora bewundern kann. Man braucht nur auf das Landsinnere zu blicken, um den Mittelmeerbusch zu entdecken, die üppige, farbenprächtige und duftreiche Vegetation, die inmitten von Wacholdern, jahrhundertenalten Eichen, Oleastern und Myrten wächst. Porto Corallo ist ein kleines Paradies mit allem Komfort. l windsurf è il più anziano e conosciuto tra gli sport acquatici, si è diffuso a partire dagli Anni Ottanta. Per praticarlo serve tavola, albero, vela e boma, ma soprattutto il vento… Il windsurf è una sorta di evoluzione della barca a vela, molto più pratico nel trasporto e dinamico nelle evoluzioni; permette di uscire per mare in tutte le condizioni cambiando tavola e vela in base alla forza del vento e allo stato del mare. Sono tanti gli stabilimenti balneari dove è possibile imparare, non avete che l’imbarazzo della scelta! Il kitesurf è l’ultimo nato tra gli sport acquatici. Questo aquilone gonfiabile (kite) al quale il surfista è vincolato attraverso 4 o 5 cavi (linee) lunghi circa trenta metri, sta spopolando nelle spiagge di tutto il mondo. Navigare in libertà sulla superficie del mare, ma anche saltare dieci e più metri in alto, avendo la sensazione di volare! Questo è il kitesurf. Sembra facile e divertente e come tutte le novità attira tante persone, ma è importante premettere che per praticare questo sport, è necessario un corso presso un centro specializzato. Non solo, è fondamentale un vento costante e possibilmente da mare, avere la spiaggia priva di ostacoli, per permettere una partenza sicura e magari un’amico che sappia aiutarci nel momento della partenza e “dell’atterraggio” dell’ala. Il surf vede le proprie origini nell’Oceano Pacifico ed è sport nazionale in Australia e nelle isole delle Hawaii. Le tavole, originariamente in legno, oggi sono realizzate con clarck-foam (poliuretano) e resina. Nuotando incontro alle onde si arriva alla line-up, il punto in cui le onde cominciano a infrangersi. Da qui, remando con la sola forza delle braccia, ci si mette in piedi per cavalcare le onde, facendo le manovre (tricks) e mettendo in discussione le proprie doti di equilibrio. Anche se l’estate non regala nella nostra costa grandi mareggiate, ricordate che con una tavola tipo mini malibu, di circa 2,40 m si riesce a surfare già con mezzo metro d’onda. La Sardegna vista la sua posizione è considerata il migliore luogo per la pratica di questi sport in tutto il Mediterraneo. Meats are particularly tender and prized for their free range rearing. Naturally, vegetables are not lacking in the island’s gastronomy. Beans, peas, tomatoes, courgettes and aubergines are used to create appetising side dishes, but also to enrich delicious condiments for first and second courses. In the heart of Sarrabus Gerrei the abundance of sheep farms allows the possibility of tasting cheeses and typical products right ‘on site’, immersed in a characteristic and picturesque environment. Excellent pecorino cheese, savoury ricotta, products based on fresh cheese and delicious honey and many other specialities. Ogliastra is also a land of famous culinary traditions. Here you can sample culurgiones (sheets of pasta folded and closed in the form of little parcels with decorated edges, filled with potatoes, fresh pecorino and mint) and the traditional ‘malloreddus’ (small dumplings made of pasta). Second courses maintain the same theme in common with the rest of the island, with roast pork infused with the aromas of wild myrtle, but also, and more than anything else, roast mutton. The excellent sheeps’ milk produced is also an ideal base for the preparation of the most exquisite local cheeses such as “su casu ageru" and "casu marzu". Breads and sweets originate from ancient traditions and methods. You need only to think of the appetising and fragrant pane casareccio; pane pintau, pistoccu and moddizzosu, almost always accompanied at the table by local wines. The fragrant wine Cannonau d’Ogliastra is particularly famous. Pabassinas, panisceddas, amarettus, cigiri pistidau, pardulas and gattou, are some of the most typical sweets, prepared by skilful hands using almonds, grapes, ricotta and many other simple and natural ingredients.

IL MENSILE IL GAMBERO ROSSO LO HA SELEZIONATO TRA I MIGLIORI OLI Uno dei regali più belli, e dei souvenir da portare assolutamente a casa dalla Sardegna è una bottiglia di olio d’oliva extravergine. E’ come un vino: legato indissolubilmente alla zona in cui nasce, e capace di dare un carattere ed un filo conduttore ai sapori di tutto un pranzo. Per avere un extravergine cosi ci vuole il clima mediterraneo, tanto sole, il giusto terreno e un ambiente che non sappia neppure cosa è l’inquinamento. Il sud est è una zona particolarmente importante dal punto di vista della produzione artigianale. Qui prevalgono oggetti d'artigianato derivanti dall'asfodelo; in particolare cestini, ma anche l'artigianato del telaio con meravigliosi tappeti. E poi ancora bisacce, ferro battuto, legno lavorato. Nell'antico territorio del Sarrabus Gerrei è piuttosto diffusa la cultura della realizzazione del “coltello” che pur non essendo il fiore all'occhiello della produzione locale, vanta tra le sue file, degni rappresentanti. Sono infatti numerosi da queste parti, i cultori di questa antica arte e sono altrettanto numerosi gli oggetti prodotti. Dai coltelli classici (is arresojas), a quelli più raffinati con manici preziosi intagliati e finemente lavorati in legno, in corno di muflone e talvolta anche in corallo e in argento. Tra i più interessanti

esempi nell'ambito della tradizione artigianale sarda, vi è certamente l'antica arte della filigrana, presente un po' in tutta l'isola, sebbene in forme e caratteri che si differenziano a seconda del luogo di produzione. I gioielli in filigrana si caratterizzano per le forme e soggetti legati alle tradizioni locali. La decorazione dominante è la donna sarda, oltre che per vezzo anche per funzione religiosa e votiva, allorchè i mastri orafi intrecciano sin dai tempi antichi, splendidi anelli, orecchini, medaglie e “bottoni mammellari” simbolo della fertilità femminile e donati anticamente come buon auspicio. L'ingegno degli artigiani sardi si manifesta maggiormente nei materiali più poveri che, come per incanto, assumono forme di straordinaria bellezza e originalità. Here artisan products created from asphodel are most common, particularly baskets, but also artisan loom work, producing outstanding rugs. And then there are also blacksmiths, wrought iron and wood carving. In the ancient territory of Sarrabus Gerrei the tradition of knife making is very widespread, to the extent of being the jewel in the crown of local production, praised by its ranks of worthy representatives. There are many different types; from the classical knife (is arresojas) to more refined ones with precious carved handles finely worked in wood, in mouflon horn and sometimes also in coral and silver. In all likelihood, Sarrabus is also the birthplace of the famous ‘Launeddas’, the most traditional Sardinian instrument. In the world of Sardinian artisan culture, the art of filigree strongly stands out. An art which is present in the whole of the island. The

styles and inspiration for the jewels in filigree are linked to local traditions. Master goldsmiths can be traced back to ancient times, creating splendid rings, earrings, medals and ‘buttons in the form of womens’ breasts’, which are authentic symbols of feminine fertility and were given as gifts in ancient times as good omens. Wood is another material used to work splendid products. With it carpenters create carved chests, the classical Sardinian chairs covered in cane and many other everyday objects. The ingenuity of Sardinian artisans is evident in the most basic materials that, as though by magic, are made into extraordinarily beautiful and original pieces. La Sartoria “Sorelle Podda” nasce nel 1980 per volontà di Laura che appassionata di Moda sin dalla tenera età, dotata di talento e spiccata creatività, apprende il mestiere di Sarta da giovanissima, perfezionando negli anni, stile, manualità, tecnica e professionalità. In quegli anni esaudisce il Suo desiderio di creare un vero e proprio Atelier, coinvolgendo Sua sorella Giannina che nel frattempo ha appreso

SORELLE PODDA l’arte del ricamo su tulle (come il Velo dell’antico Costume Sardo) e manifesta una spiccata manualità e senso della perfezione. I loro abiti, siano da sposa, da cerimonia o da sera sono curati in ogni particolare, originalità, stile, taglio, vestibilità, rifiniture e scelta dei tessuti. Negli anni realizzano numerose collezioni quasi sempre ispirate alle tradizioni antiche della loro terra, con il tessuto tipico del telaio sardo, con il pizzo fatto a mano ricamando il tulle, col broccato e monili d’argento, con il corallo col plissè e cristalli. Partecipano a numerose sfilate e mostre riscuotendo sempre apprezzamenti, sia dal pubblico che da esperti del settore.

ATELIER SORELLE PODDA This atelier began in 1980 thanks to Laura who has been passionate for fashion ever since she was a child. Gifted with great talent and creativity, she learned the craft of sewing at a young age and was able to refine style, technique, dexterity, and competence over the years. In those years she fulfills her dream to create her own Atelier, involving her sister Giannina, that in the meantime refined the art of embroidered tulle (like the antique Veil in traditional Sardinian costume) and manifests a strong manual skill and sense of perfection. Their attire, be it a wedding dress or evening gown is well-finished in every last detail, originality, style, wear-ability and attentive choice in fabrics.
