Tales From Eerie Emma Aliharju

Eerie is a place of wonders, secrets and magic. A forest full of mysterious creatures, memories and moments stuck in somewhere in-between. A place where nature thrives and time does not exist. This book is a collection of thoughts from different people and different creatures that wander through the woods of Eerie. The stories are not connected and you can read them in any order you like.

Thoughts of a ghost Recordings for Edith

Do you remember the cabin that stood in the middle of the forest? Between the fir trees and near that restless river 'It belongs to the witch' you told me back then And I never thought to ask Did you know the witch? There were traces of a spell the last time I went there I could still feel the tingling between my fingers But the cabin was gone

'Oh, I wonder!' Said the fox to himself If this is one of those lonely places Where creatures gather at midnight To look at the fire, where the old firewood rattles To think about a time before Every one to themselves

You can discover curious things at nights like these I saw a god once, it wandered through these very woods And it cried 'What's wrong?' I asked him But it didn't answer, just went right through me, like a ghost And then I started to think what the world would be like If you would just wander aimlessly Not really caring about anything It must be very lonely

And the old herd What was it called back then? We used to run beside it on the golden fields Then we ended up on that waterfall and spent our days there hiding from the real world What was that herd called...

I love the rain. I love the raging storms. Warm, deep colors of autumn. The forest, forever changing, moving me alongside with it. Waiting for the next storm To appear

And the old fishing rod Take me back by the ocean To that warm Sunday evening

I walk on these hills on early Novembers The grass, still brown The autumn leftovers But soon the snow would cover it all, like this place had never existed Maybe I'll go home next month Maybe...

I wish you the quiet snowfalls of winter And the autumn rains I was there once

I remember the name now: Forest Inklings That one Inkling had lost its white coat and had turned all black Maybe it had to wash all its coats before the winter So it could run with the others Invisible in the white snow

Glass shard from a broken window The smell of wet wood Frames full of shadows still covering the walls, observing Gentle sound of footsteps on the stairs We sip sweet tea on the terrace and listen to the distant sounds from nearby cottages Like no time had passed at all What a thought to be longed for...

This is a house for all the foxes that live in the forest Some enjoy the warmth of others and hot cups of midnight tea Some long for the cold and leave during winter As their coats turn into snow

But I digress These woods are full of memories Some hidden in that cabin Some are still at the waterfalls Or with that herd of Forest Inklings I'm glad that I came back to think back to those times Even if you weren't there I wish you all the best and I hope to hear from you soon -Sonja
