I thank God for taking the pressure off

“If you are tired from carrying heavy burdens, come to me and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 (CEV)

Just as you are destined for great things that require hard work, God also asks you to rest. Work gives you the opportunity to partner with God in His goals, while rest lets you enter into a close relationship with Him. When Jesus visited Mary and Martha (Luke 10:38-42), Mary sat down to listen to Jesus, but Martha busied herself with the tasks of serving their guest. What Martha did was not wrong, but she misunderstood the timing. It was time to rest, not work. Martha really missed out this time, as the guest was God’s Son Himself! What makes you relax? Can you find a place to rest and time to be quiet with God?
