02 ThefirststandingcommitteewithinIFMSAwastheStanding CommitteeonProfessionalExchange(SCOPE)in1951.It startedsmall,beginningwithonly8Europeancountries,but sincethenhasgrownintooneofthelargeststudent-run SCOPEexchangeprogramsintheworld,withmorethan1.5 millionProfessionalExchangemedicalstudentsfrommore than100NationalMemberOrganizationsparticipatinguntil today.TheSCOPEexchangeprogramisaqualityeducational andculturalexperienceorganizedentirelybymedical studentswiththehelpoftheirmedicalfaculties. Theprogramaimstopromoteculturalunderstandingandco-operationamongst medicalstudentsandallhealthprofessionalsthroughthefacilitationof internationalstudentexchanges,togiveallstudentstheopportunitytolearnabout globalhealth,andattainsthispartlybyhavingitsexchangesaccreditedbymedical facultiesacrosstheworld. SCOPEIndonesiaitselfwasestablishedin2001.LedbytheNEOs(National ExchangeOfficers),SCOPEisthestandingcommitteeinCIMSAthatmanagesthe biggestmedicalstudentexchangeinIndonesia.Eachyear,itfacilitates approximatelymorethan200outgoingandincomingexchangestudents.SCOPE CIMSAisaffiliatedwithIFMSAanddevelopgoodcooperationwithvarious stakeholdersandrelevantexternalpartiestofacilitatethestudentsexchange.We alsoorganizevariousprojectsasaformofcharacterdevelopmentforthemembers ofSCOPEitselfandconductjointactivitieswithinCIMSAtoimprovenation's health. ThebiggestfieldworkofSCOPEismanagingIncomingsandOutgoings.For Incomings,SCOPEhelpsforeignstudentswhowanttoexperienceclinicalclerkship inhospitalsorteachinghospitalsinIndonesiathroughadministrationprocedures aswellashelpingtheexchangestudenttoadaptduringtheperiodofhis/her clerkshipinIndonesia.SCOPEalsoengagesforeignstudentstoparticipatein culturalandsocialactivities,asawaytointroduceallaspectsoflifeinIndonesia.
