NEW TURKEY – Mandarin Oriental Bodrum is seriously on our radar for summer 2018. Its combination of spacious designer rooms, fabulous service, two sandy beaches, a great kids club, wonderful restaurants and a long summer season makes it hard to ignore. MALLORCA Mallorca is the largest of the Balearic Islands and there is good reason for its popularity.

Mallorca conjures images of dramatic mountains dotted with pine forests, winding roads that roll into long sweeping bays and quaint towns and villages with stone built cottages and lively markets. You can stumble onto remote beaches and watch fishermen haul in their catch, charter a boat and explore the hidden coves and relax in the warm evenings drinking a glass of Rosé and breathing in the balmy air. You will be stepping into a new pace of life. New this summer are our three private villas in Colonia de Sant Pere area, they are close to lovely small local beaches and traditional little towns.
BEST BEACH FOR FAMILIES
S’Amarador is the second of two large beaches in Mondrago Natural Park on the South Eastern coast of Mallorca, near Cala d’Or. It is surrounded by pine trees and native flora and fauna, with rocks and cliff faces and is stunningly beautiful. It is easily accessible on foot, with good parking near the beach and plenty of places to eat and drink nearby. With fine white sand, space for playing, no watersports allowed and very shallow water …it is perfect for families.

Il Giardino in the main square of Pollença is a French/Italian restaurant that is a great place to enjoy some good food whilst soaking up the atmosphere. They offer a number of cheap and cheerful light lunch options, as well as a set price lunch menu and in the evening, there is a more extensive à la carte menu. It is also very family-friendly, with children often stretching their legs with a good run around in the square in between courses.
BEST ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS
The beautiful wide-open countryside of Mallorca is perfect for exploring on horseback. Hipica Formentor riding school is located between Pollença and Alcúdia and was established by Lorenzo, a Mallorcan horse whisperer, and many of his horses are rescue horses. They go bare hoof (without any horse-shoes) and are ridden with a light saddle and a special bridle that is bitless. Normal rides are 1 to 2 hours, but there are a number of longer rides when you can enjoy Mallorcan nature, passing flowering fields, forests, river beds, views over the bay and into the mountains of the Tramuntana mountains.
SOMETHING FOR GROWN UPS
For something really special, Mallorca Balloons was founded in 1988 and now operates eight balloons with capacities ranging from 2 to 15 passengers. They offer various flights at different times of the day including sunrise and sunset.

Hiring a boat is a great way to explore some of Mallorca’s beautiful coves whilst enjoying either a sedate sail or a high speed day out. There are numerous companies offering boat hire, with or without a skipper, so you’re bound to find something suitable but do book ahead. 19

SOUTH OF FRANCE Startlingly beautiful and full of contrasts, the south of France has much to offer, from wine-drenched Provence and the glamorous Côte d’Azur to dazzling beaches and snow-capped mountains.

On the other side of the Cap Ferrat peninsula is the little shingle beach of Paloma. This is a protected cove, popular with families and with great facilities. Half the beach is private, and often frequented by celebrities, while the other section is open to the public.

La Mère Germaine in Villefranche sur Mer is a lovely traditional restaurant on the quayside. Jean Cocteau used to eat at this local institution, which has been serving fresh fish and seafood since 1938. It is lovely just to sit on the terrace and gaze out over the harbour.
BEST ACTIVITIES FOR KIDS
Canyon Forest in Villeneuve Loubet Village, which is 15 mins from Vence, is a treetop adventure park. There are 100% thrills on this adventure course with activities lasting three hours with 4 levels of difficulty and more than 115 challenges (iron way, rope bridge, zip-wires, climbing…).
SOMETHING FOR GROWN UPS
Provence has over 600 winemakers and many of the local vineyards have tours and tastings. Wine lovers can visit those in the internationally recognized Bandol area, west of Toulon, or Châteauneuf-du-Pape, further east.

Wherever you’re staying in the south of France, you’ll not be far from a local market. And whether they’re daily or weekly, in Nice or Antibes or a small hilltop village, they’re brimming with wonderfully fresh, seasonal produce and are the hub of local life. 51

LED BY OUR RANGERS RATIO 1:8 An action packed programme of sporting and water based activities is in store for the Pioneers. The emphasis is to get them out and about the hotel and surrounding area making the most of what is on offer locally. Designed with older children in mind, the Pioneers will have the opportunity to try more challenging sports like paddle boarding and ultimate frisbee to more energy fuelled beach activities, like body boarding and even the possibility of wild inflatables. AQUA EXPLORERS For children 5 - 13 years Aqua Explorers is available for guests aged 5 - 13 years staying at Eagles Resort. The warm water here is shallow and there is a gentle breeze, so it’s the perfect base for our dedicated watersports programme. Designed for those with little or no experience, Aqua is an ideal introduction to a good variety of water-based activities. From sailing, paddle boarding and kayaking to waterskiing, windsurfing and diving, the programme teaches the basic skills for three hours a day. Safety always comes first; the children’s needs and abilities, as well as the weather and water conditions are factored in each day. Kids are divided into separate age appropriate groups and at the end of the week, a regatta is held where they all compete against each other in some short fun races, followed by prize-giving with certificates. Parents who want their children to receive full-time childcare have the option to join the Explorers kids club for the remainder of the day.
