Our new tailor-made brochure is designed to inspire you and is full of magical adventures and fabulous cultural experiences, as well as some idyllic beach escapes where you can truly relax and unwind. We have been creating tailored holidays for 27 years now, it has been a wonderful journey and I have learnt so much along the way. If I was to give our guests one piece of advice following this experience, my top tip is to book as early as you possibly can. When things are left too late there are often no flights available in the right classes and if there are, they are very expensive. The same is true for ensuring we get the right accommodation for you. So do book well ahead, not only will you save a lot of money but you will also have longer to look forward to your holiday.

THE tailor-made way A holiday should be unique, magical, rewarding, rejuvenating, exciting and tailored around you. To us, there is no such thing as a package holiday, available to buy off the shelf. Our specialists each spend around four weeks a year visiting the areas they focus on, gathering first-hand knowledge to pass on to our guests. By looking closer, they unearth the special things, the tiny touches that make a difference to each individual experience that they craft. We also understand everyone is different; that while Mr and Mrs Jones’ highlight in Belize was a cruise

up the Monkey River, your priority might be snorkelling around the famous Blue Hole. We realise that what a rustic-tented camp under the stars does for one person, only a fivestar boutique hotel by the ocean will do for another. Above all, you can rely on us no matter what. We are a fully bonded tour operator, so you can enjoy complete peace of mind from the moment you have booked. Whatever happens, come rain, snow or shine, we will take care of everything, from beginning to end.

across several destinations or a relaxing holiday on an exclusive paradise island. From secret hideaways in Croatia’s hidden coves and tented camps under the stars in Wahiba Sands in the Omani desert, to beautiful Alpine chalets perfect for a family holiday and eco lodges deep in the Amazon jungle.

Right place, right time
With so many places to see in the world, choosing where to go is half the fun. If you are not sure where’s good to go for the time of year you want to travel, we can help. Our specialists know the weather patterns for their destinations and when to catch amazing natural spectacles and cultural events. January is great for big game viewing in Tanzania and sunshine in Sri Lanka and
the cherry blossom in Japan begins to come alive from the end of March. In June, you can encounter whale sharks in Western Australia and later that month the lavender starts to bloom in Provence. August is a great time to feed the giraffes who poke their heads into the breakfast room at Giraffe Manor in Nairobi and in September thousands gather in Mexico for a spectacular equinox, honoured by the
Mayan people who long ago built a huge pyramid to celebrate it. If you are keen to see manta rays in the Maldives, we will tell you when to go. If you are more interested in Rio’s spectacular carnival than its climate, we can arrange a holiday around the celebrations. Or perhaps you would prefer to travel out of season, for better value and fewer people. Call our specialists on 020 8682 5000 or visit scottdunn.com/when

For those with little ones, we can make things as easy as possible. Many properties in our portfolio have superb children’s clubs and a family-friendly set-up. We can craft something exciting that suits the whole family, from an African safari to getting off the beaten track in Australia.

Maudie, one of our America specialists, took off on a roadtrip in a classic Ford Mustang convertible before saddling up to explore Utah’s spectacular red rock scenery of Monument Valley and the Canyonlands in Moab by horse-back. “Utah has been the film set of over 900 movies from John Ford Westerns, to Thelma and Louise to the latest blockbuster; The
Lone Ranger. The American Southwest landscapes conjure up movie magic, but are also home to fascinating Navajo Indian culture and pioneer history. There is no better way to experience these dramatic vistas and navigate the giant buttes and mesas than by visiting a corral with experienced wranglers and getting in the saddle to have
your own cowboy and Western moment. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.” For more insights, background and to meet our team visit scottdunn.com/team

GIVING SOMETHING BACK
Tourism is the world’s largest and fastest growing industry and one that has a huge impact on the world we live in. We believe that, as a tour operator, we have a responsibility to respect and conserve economic, environmental and socio-cultural balances. As such, we want to maximise the benefits that tourism can bring to a destination whilst trying to limit harm to the environment.
We’ve set up a charitable fund that supports three projects in areas our guests visit. They bring long-term improvements to the lives of those living there. Firstly, the Tusk Trust, which was founded to protect Africa’s wildlife and natural heritage by preserving the future of its land, culture and people. Secondly, the Small Steps Project, which supports and raises awareness of children living on rubbish dumps around the world. Finally,
Travel Operators for Tigers, a pioneering international campaign to support a more responsible and sustainable approach to tourism in wilderness areas across the Indian subcontinent. We also offer our guests the opportunity to contribute to reducing the environmental impact of their flights. We pass this contribution, which can be donated at the time of booking, to Climate Care. This visionary organisation has been

‘offsetting’ for the past decade and leads by example. We also sponsor Mary’s Meals, focusing on the kitchen and feeding programme at Kachere 1 Primary School. The daily meal provided allows children to attend school every day, rather than work or scavenge for food. This means pupils can provide prospective employers with evidence of good attendance and thus greatly increase their chance of finding a good job.
