Jo Anne Bowman with her beautiful fused glass hummingbird scene.
As Jo Anne and her husband were planning a move to SCOV, she was very excited to learn that SCOV has a glass club. She joined the club seven years ago and has been an integral part ever since. We are especially thankful for all of the work she has accomplished behind the scenes. One word that describes Jo Anne is dedication. We offer our compliments and gratitude to this talented lady. We were especially grateful when she agreed to be our president for not only two, but four years. Jo Anne is also a member of the Clay Club, she loves sewing and is on the SCOV Artisan Center Renovation Task Force.
Pertinent club information is listed above. Monitors are on duty Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Please come visit us. We offer a great blend of willingness, instruction and creativity.

While you are here, check out the Carver’s Club window displays of gourd art, bark and wood carvings. If you think you might be interested in wood carving, we will help you get started with some basswood, tools, a project and some basic instruction. If you are already a wood carver, bring your tools, a project, and join the conversation.

It takes a lot of time, effort and caring to make the SCOV Wood Shop one of the premier community woodshops in Arizona. For the past 15 years, SCOV and the woodworking club have been blessed with this month’s featured woodworker.
John Njaa was born to serve. After 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy and years as a flight instructor, John brought his service to SCOV and has volunteered more than 1,000 hours. John has served the Woodworking Club as vice president, president and Wood Shop Master Monitor. He manages the Wood Shop website and is responsible for maintaining the shop equipment and purchasing all shop parts and supplies.
A new member orientation is held at the Wood Shop the first Wednesday of each month at 4 PM. Call Bill Norton at 480-980-5493 for further instructions. For questions or more information, please visit the website or call an officer.
