Hula, Jazz and Razzmatazz Dance Dir. Glory Lamb 805-698-3887 dancingextra@gmail.com Thu., 2-4 PM, Activity Center/Dance Studio

Dance schedule and rehearsals resume in the fall. Look at the wonderful YouTube instructions for all sorts of dance workouts and routines, including belly dancing, beginning tap, jazz and Zumba.

With all good thoughts for things to head in the direction of normal activity, I'm putting together a list of gals who wish to be on a syncopated dance team for performance purposes in SCOV. "Sun City Sugar" will launch when it's safe to do so, for the purpose of augmenting the fun and frolic of the Variety Theatre Club. More information coming soon.

Meantime, stay in shape and check the Dance page under Hula, Jazz and Razzmatazz. To join the dance team, email dancingextra@gmail.com and become a Sugar dancer.

Board elections will be held online. Watch for the email announcement in July. We are still looking to elect a new treasurer to the board for a two-year term that starts in September. Please consider volunteering.

In mid-July look for our member survey. This is your chance to provide feedback to your board on how our club functions. Your input is important to us.

There will be no dances held during the summer; our next dance will be in September. Until then, keep on rockin and rollin! Western - Kactus Kickers Pres. Bob and Sue Newman bobnsigrid@icloud.com Membership Marci Gutierrez marci.gutierrez57@gmail.com Activities in Auditorium and outside

Aqua Tone is a toning water workout that incorporates a variety of rhythmic body movements performed in the water. This aquatic exercise class enhances cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance.

We meet Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 9 AM in the winter, 8 AM in the summer, at the AFC pool. There is no fee to join the club or the class. The teachers are club member volunteers. Being able to do a basic swim stroke is very helpful. Items used in the class are buoys, boards, noodles, balls and a fitness band (you’ll need to bring your own). A band can be purchased from Marcia for $5. We assign an experienced member to a newcomer to help with learning the various movements. You will get a good workout in a fun class.

Have Covid restrictions decreased your movement and mobility? Our club is back in the swing of things and we perform 55-minute gentle water exercises based on those designed by the Arthritis Foundation to help with balance and range of motion. These are great for those of us with arthritis, fibromyalgia, replaced joints, etc. Each exercise can be modified for personal limitations. You may wear your hat, sunglasses and shirt for protection from the sun. Water shoes may also be brought in. Come give it a try.

Please note: The outside air temperature must be 77 degrees or higher for the class to be held.

Energetic Exercise Donna Clark 970-946-1048 Mon., Wed., 8:15-9:15 AM, AFC/Studio

Don’t let the heat get you down. Join us for fun and fitness in air-conditioned comfort. Sally Martinez is expert at keeping us strong and flexible with a variety of aerobic and weight exercises plus wonderful stretch and balance moves. You’ll be amazed at how good you’ll feel.

During remodel of the Activity Center, classes will be held in the AFC Studio on Monday and Wednesday. There is room for 33 to attend. Unfortunately, we can have no new members or guests at this time. We will continue to use SignUpGenius to register to attend. A link is provided by email each month.

Water bottles and exercise equipment need to be kept in the cubbies along the wall of the studio. Footwear needs to have soles that are free of stones and such to be gentle on the studio floor.
