Seaford Volunteer Emergency Team – Moving forward Phone line hours: Mon to Fri: 8.30am – 5.30pm, Sat: 8.30am – 1.30pm. Tel: 01323 899054 As I write this we are just easing out of Lockdown and shops and businesses are reopening. This means that many of you will now be getting out and about a bit more and getting your independence back... as well as an overdue haircut! Many of our volunteers have gone back to work as well, which means that we can’t always guarantee to meet your emergency needs on the same day, so please be mindful of this when ringing us or filling in the online form. We hope you will still be supporting the local businesses that have delivered to you during Lockdown – Burts Bakery, Walbrins, Scoop and Weigh, Wynnes and Around a Pound to name a few. Morrisons have set up a service for you to ring up and get delivery for next day shopping (0345 61161111 option 5) from their limited list plus 10 items. ONLY on a Friday they are also delivering prescriptions so if you use their pharmacy make sure the script is there earlier in the week and ask for the service. Both Morrisons and Sainsburys seem to have plenty of Click and Collect slots as well now, plus their delivery availability has increased. All these services will help you to manage in the ‘new normal’ and get back in control of your daily lives. The Seafriends ‘time for a chat’ service is also up and running and can be contacted via our helpline. In the meantime we’re still going to be here for you and to respond to anyone who suddenly has to go into isolation, but this means we need your help to enable us to pay for the phone line, PPE and other things we need to keep everyone safe.

Many people have offered to donate to support us in the last few weeks but previously we did not have a means to collect any money. There is no obligation from those we are helping but we have set up a GoFundMe which you can find on our Facebook page and website, or ring our helpline 01323 899054 if you are not online and we will tell you what to do. A big thank you to everyone who has already done so. Remember you can also contact us on our website https://svet.proffer.org.uk and fill in the request form for support. Thank you to everyone who has pulled together to make this possible.
