Sea Grant Puerto Rico
El Programa Sea Grant de la Universidad de Puerto Rico es un programa educativo dedicado a la conservación y al uso sustentable de los recursos marinos y costeros de Puerto Rico, de las Islas Vírgenes Estadounidenses y de la región del Caribe. Nuestra misión es doble:
(1) subvencionar investigaciones científicas sobre conservación y uso de recursos marinos y costeros;
(2) ofrecer servicios de extensión marina aplicando conocimientos generados por esas investigaciones y nuestra experiencia a los problemas que las comunidades de usuarios confrontan cada día.
El trabajo de Sea Grant se basa en la colaboración entre universidades, industrias, agencias gubernamentales y usuarios de los recursos. Nuestros proyectos se realizan por medio de la investigación, de la educación y del servicio público.
