FROMTHEGENERALMANAGER
As we head out of winter and into the spring and summer, the Club at Sea Palms is as busy as ever. Justin Collett and the agronomy team have the golf course in the best shape ever, even with the increased rounds from a mild and dry cold season. The efforts this winter to trim trees, needle tine, and top dress greens regularly and address bunker issues have already paid major dividends. The amazing reviews and comments from the Georgia PGA Senior event participants and the Sea Palms Invitational Collegiate Tournament reinforce the course's direction.
In our efforts to continue to grow our Membership and provide value, we turn our focus and attention to the events, programs, and experiences at the Club. A couple of new programs that have begun are the weekly golf clinics offered by Jason Babb, PGA, for both ladies and gentlemen. These have been very well attended to and received. We will continue to provide affordable and costeffective instruction to help you along your journey in the game. Jason and Head Professional Justin Sigmon, PGA, have also started a PGA Junior League team for Sea Palms. This is a great way to introduce our young golfers to the game with some competition thrown in. We will also have dates for Junior golf and tennis camps soon.
Please remember to keep an eye on the calendar and our Monday emails so you do not miss any tournaments, events, or experiences. Also, if you still need to, register on the Club Member website for the most updated information, schedule changes, your Club statement, and chits. This is the best way to stay on top of everything at the Club at Sea Palms.
The 2023 Member-Guest is coming soon, May 4-6. We are well on our way to a great field and look forward to an amazing weekend of golf, food, and fun!
Although the price differs slightly from previous years, the value is amazing. Tee gifts, 45 holes of golf, ladies’ luncheon and event, Friday night party with a killer band, and lots of memories to create. Our field is limited to 60 teams, so do not miss out!
We thank you and appreciate all your support for The Club at Sea Palms!

Members, it has been a fun start to the year! We have had a lot of exciting things happening around the club, and many more exciting events are still to come. To update everyone on some of our most recent events, Team Sea Palms won the Oglethorpe Cup in impressive fashion. The Oglethorpe Cup is a competition between Sea Palms, Sea Island, and King & Prince. This year King and Prince hosted on the first day with four ball matches, and the total score after day one was 15.5 King & Prince, 13 Sea Palms, and 7.5 Sea Island. Day 2, we hosted the alternate shot and shamble format here at Sea Palms. Sea Palms defended their home turf and won the day with 17 points beating Sea Island, who had 13 for the day, and King & Prince, who finished the day with 6 points. After day two, the twoday total stood at 30 for Sea Palms, 21.5 for King & Prince, and 20.5 for Sea Island. Day 3 was set for singles matches at Sea Islands Plantation course. Sea Island and Sea Palms tied for the day with 27 points, while King & Prince finished with 18. After the third day of hard-fought matches, the final tally was 57 points for Sea Palms, 47.5 for Sea Island, and 39.5 for King & Prince. An impressive victory for Sea Palms. The Oglethorpe Cup will be displayed in the golf shop for members and guests to see for an entire year until we defend it next spring.
Our latest Tee Up Wine Down event was a lot of fun! We want to congratulate our winners. The First Place Gross team with a score of 29 was the team of Evan & Victoria Fountain, Steven & Alexa Golubski, and Thomas & Sara Cason. The First Place Net Team with a score of 26 net was Don & Jan Shiver, Robert & Patty Hermann, and Dean & Amy Starr. Our Second Place Gross team scoring 30 was Bob & Anne Tebbetts, Bill & Debbie Sheils, and Marcus & Geri Mullis. Second Place Net was the team of Jim & Ann Bouldin, George & Peggy Edwards, and Jim & Judy Gibson, scoring 29. Ann Tebbetts (#6) and Steven Golubski (#9) won closest to the hole.
Upcoming Events to be aware of:
·May 4-6th is the Member Guest Tournament. Make sure to sign-up, bring a guest, and show off your club!
·June 19-25th, the golf course will be closed for aerification. This is a necessary evil in the golf business to make turf conditions great yearround. Our agronomy team does an amazing job keeping the golf course great year-round!
Please let Jason, Michael, or I know if we can help you with your golf game. We have a great team of golf professionals here that can assist you with anything golf related. We have much knowledge, and when you combine it, many things can be learned from each of us!

AGRONOMY
As Spring quickly approaches, the Sea Palms Agronomy team is out in full force, preparing for a busy tournament schedule. The team plans to narrow its efforts to increasing greens speeds and the overall playability of the course.
As temperatures rise and the course begins to transition from overseeded rye to bermudagrass, the agronomy team will continue to fertilize and use cultural practices to expedite the recovery of the turf from winter injury. The roughs and high-traffic areas took a huge hit from the low temperatures and high play volume during the winter months. We will combat this injury with increased fertilization, aerification, and tree removals to speed up the recovery of the damaged bermudagrass.
The main priority heading into the spring and summer is to increase the density of turf throughout the course and increase the overall health of the turf.
Repairing ball marks.
Filling divots.
Raking bunkers.
Scattering cart traffic.
Avoiding driving carts through high-s

TOTHEMEMBERS
Dear Members of Sea Palms,
Another great season is upon us. We are excited to go on this journey together as we continue making amazing and long-lasting memories at the beautiful Sea Palms Resort.
The Resort has undergone tremendous improvements these last few months, and many more upgrades are in the works. Our Resort Hotel is getting closer to completion, including a total of 121 rooms, including a Hospitality Suite, Bridal Suite & Presidential Suite. Landscaping is expected to begin around these buildings shortly after construction is completed. The Main Clubhouse has undergone construction, which includes new doors and windows. Banquet Rooms will continue to be upgraded and renovated in the next month, ensuring a wonderful space for all to enjoy their special occasion.
You will begin to hear of the updates and upgrades to the Tiki Bar at Pool East. Everything from a new green space for kids to more secure fencing for safety and security, including replacing the gates (your member card will work in this transition of the new gates). The Tiki Bar itself is being expanded for additional seating, including new TVs, fans, and will include later operating hours come the summer. More is planned, so stay tuned.
As we begin to enter the very busy summer, you will start to see and experience new associates being added to our growing team. We have implemented a new hire onboarding program, providing more one-on-one engagement with our new associates at the start of their careers at Sea Palms Resort. This will also provide our new associates with more hands-on training experiences and impactful knowledge of our Resort and what our standards are as we set ourselves apart as being the most exceptional hospitality professionals here on SSI.
I want to personally thank every one of you for your continued support, positive feedback, encouragement, and constructive criticism. Everything you say provides us with an opportunity to improve and be at our best.
Enjoy the upcoming season, and I look forward to seeing you around the resort soon!
SALES
The Sales Team at Sea Palms had an incredibly inspiring and exciting first quarter of 2023.
We are excited to announce that the resort now has over 100 hotel rooms available for our guests. We expect the remaining units to be completed shortly, which will give us a total of 120 rooms available at the resort.
The secret for our Sea Palms Brides is finally out! The Bridal Suite, identified as The Magnolia Suite, is now open and available for rent. The suite features a boutique-styled retreat that includes wall-to-wall vanities and professional beauty lighting, complete with a lounge space, a King-size bed, and a patio with stunning views of the marsh.
As we continue through the year, our team continues to find new and innovative ways to grow revenues and network to a broader audience so that we may continue to add exciting components to the resort for our Members, Guests, and the local community.
I would personally like to thank everyone for your continued support.
Our team looks forward to planning your future events.
Respectfully,
Caroline Norman Director of SalesFOOD&BEVERAGE
The first part of 2023 has flown by for us at Sago, and we are extremely excited about what this Spring and Summer have in store!
As we prepare for the busy season, there are some Tiki Bar updates we would like to share. The team is working on some exciting upgrades, including expanding the bar counter to accommodate more seating. We hope this upgrade to the space will better serve our members and resort guests. The Tiki Bar will open Memorial Day Weekend with a new bar menu, food menu, and a poolside grilling menu offered Friday-Sunday.
We appreciate our members taking the time to provide your feedback about our menu and current offerings. Our culinary team is using the results of the survey to aid in planning our summer menu for Sago, which will be released at the end of May.
Our staff continues to train and improve and are working diligently to provide friendly and prompt service to all our patrons. We appreciate everyone for their continued support as we continue to work hard to make Sago your favorite restaurant on the island.

DIVE-INMOVIE
Our Dive-In Movies are always a hit with our youngest Sea Palms members! This past quarter children got to enjoy watching Sonic the Hedgehog
2, Encanto, and DC League of Super Pets. Each Dive-In Movie also offers food, coloring pages, and games to enjoy during the movie. We love seeing them enjoy this time with friends and get dressed up as their favorite characters from these movies.

BOOKSIGNINGS
Our book signings started in January with Gary Olsen, who discussed his book, The 15 Geniuses Behind the Lens. Gary's presentation highlighted the movie directors from his book and discussed how each influenced the film industry and the directors that succeeded them.
In March, we welcomed Jingle Davis, who discussed her book, Following the Tabby Trail. Jingle spoke about the history of the tabby material and the historical tabby structures that line the southeastern coast. We want to thank Darryl Peck from Righton Books for providing copies of Jingle's book and for presenting the book as she spoke.
Be sure to join us this quarter for book signings with Mike Shaw and Katherine Nichols.
Mike Shaw is the author of The Musician, which follows a young musician as he chases his dreams to become an accomplished musician and showcases the struggles and triumphs of aspiring musicians everywhere. Mike will have a musical presentation to accompany his discussion that you won't want to miss.
Katherine Nichols will discuss her latest book, The Substitute Sister. This is the second book in Katherine's Sisters Forever series and follows Grace Burnette, who despite overcoming the grief of losing her sister, Stella, must now search for her adopted daughter and meets a woman she has more in common with than she thinks.
