VANDERBIJLPARK. - With the suspicion that her husband’s grave has been tampered with, the widow demanded that the grave be opened and the body be exhumed last week. Selina Mokoena of Zone 11 Extension, in Sebokeng demanded the body of her late husband be exhumed as she suspected his body parts had been stolen. The late Hendrick Mokoena was buried on January 31. She said she realised this when the family visited the grave to perform rituals on March 8. She said that something was wrong as the grave seemed to have been tampered with.

“Everything we have marked the grave with, including a bottle and flowers have been removed,” she said. According to her the soil was not put accordingly and the number of the grave was missing. She went to the police and the Emfuleni Local Municipality to lay a complaint. Emfuleni Local Municipality officials, Health department personnel, Police and family members all arrived at the cemetery on Friday. They requested a private contractor to exhume half the grave’s soil. Immediately after part of the coffin showed from the soil, the mourning wife was called closer. She cried loudly and said that this was not

her husband’s coffin. “Somebody has tampered with my husbands grave. I know the coffin was golden brown, covered with cow skin, with no name on top,” she explained. Stanley Gaba, Emfuleni Local Municipality spokesperson, said they have conducted their part. “The unhappiness of the family should be taken up with the police,” Gaba says. The widow was allowed to open a case for further forensic investigations. The police said the family would have to wait longer before a letter needed for further investigations can be obtained from the Magistrate’s court. There is also a waiting period of approximately six months for forensic results to be released.

Vereeniging accident claims one Mduduzi Mathebula

VEREENIGING.- A case of culpable homicide is being investigated by Vereeniging Police. The case was opened on Wednesday morning and came about due to an accident that claimed one life. The accident involved an Audi sedan and a Nissan bakkie. An unknown male died on the scene. He was certified deceased by the paramedics deployed to the scene just after the accident. It is alleged the two vehicles were travelling in two separate directions when the accident occurred at the intersection of Beaconsfield and Joubert. It is not clear what transpired. However, the accident happened at about 06: 00 in the morning during rush hour. Police spokesperson Captain Fikile Funda con-

firmed a case of culpable homicide: “We are investigating a case of homicide and confirm that one person was declared dead just after the accident.” It is alleged that an Audi was traversing in Joubert Street in a westerly direction and the robot was green for the driver at the intersection of Beaconsfield. The other collision-vehicle was a white Nissan bakkie apparently traversing Beaconsfield in a southerly direction. Funda ends by saying that: “The passenger who was in the bakkie was certified dead by paramedics on the scene, while the other driver sustained serious head and neck injuries. He was rushed to hospital for treatment.” This male driver had to be rushed to hospital for serious head and neck injuries after the accident.

‘One life is enough’: community

Lazarus Dithagiso

BOPHELONG. - The community could not bear the pain suffered by a physically challenged pedestrian after he was hit by a car in Dube Street, Bophelong on Sunday. They used wheelbarrows to transport soil and rocks to block the road, forcing motorists to slow down when driving there. The road leads from the robot intersection of Bophelong and the Golden Highway. The community said ‘one life is enough!’ They said that they had had enough of some drivers coming from the nearby taverns during the evening and speeding as if they were at Kyalami motor show. They allege they long ago brought the matter to the attention of the Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM), to no avail. A community member who did not want to be named said they were told that as long as no case of death was reported, ELM would find it ‘too diffi-

cult’ to install speed humps. “We are giving the municipality a week to install speed humps. We are not scared to do it in our own way,” they said. Sedibeng Ster heard some bystanders saying they want to stone the speeding cars. It would not be the first time the community had gone berserk, the community dug ditches in the road before the municipality installed a stop sign in Extension 18. ELM Public Safety MMC Velly Mcera said they would employ ‘visible traffic policing’. “Speed humps will be installed after we examine the area. The municipality will first apply pedestrian crossing lines. Speed humps will not be installed everywhere,” he said. He appealed to the community to stop stealing the road signs and report any vandalism to Police. An accident at Dube Road ended with the angry community members barricading the road with soil and rocks, and demanding that the municipality install speed humps.

SASOLBURG. - There were tears of sorrow and joy outside the court building after accused Prophet Tshepo Ramajoe (35) was acquitted for lack of evidence in an alleged rape case. The prominent prophet from Bophelong was arrested and the case was brought before the magistrate after two days in Sasolburg on Friday. He never physically appeared in court. The audience was told to go home by the court orderly at around 16:20. The ‘man of God’ or ‘Proph’ as he is popularly known allegedly raped a 15-year-old girl in Vaalpark. A police investigator told Sedibeng Ster that the alleged incident happened at the house of a high level person in local council (known to this paper) on November 25 last year. The father of the victim said that while Police were investigating the councillor allegedly invited him to meet outside the Vanderbijlpark Police Station. The councillor allegedly knelt in front of the father, begging him to withdraw the case in exchange for an undisclosed sum. The tearful father told Sedibeng Ster that he was astonished to hear a prominent leader of the community asking him to accept a bribe: “The councillor told me that together with the accused they are from the same church. This would apparently jeopardise her career in local government. The father cannot be named to avoid indirect identification of the victim. The suspect was represented by Katlego Mokoena of Mokoena and Dhlamini’s Attorneys. Mokoena said the charge against her client consisted of unfounded allegations. As to the investigations, the matter will never be brought before the court again. The response from the councillors office to a list of specific Sedibeng Ster questions was that Prophet Ramajoe is merely a spiritual guide to the councillor.

Joy and happiness were the order of the day outside the Sasolburg Magistrates Court on Friday after prominent Prophet Tshepo Ramajoe from Bophelong was acquitted of rape charges following lack of evidence. Photo: Lazarus Dithagiso.

Family ‘dumps’ sick gogo out of house

SEBOKENG. - Zone 11 residents were stunned when they saw an old woman dumped outside her family’s home due to her sickness recently. Apparently Maria Radebe has to face numerous hardships brought down on her old head by her own flesh and blood. The 61-year-old woman is allegedly at the centre of a storm among Radebe’s siblings. Two weeks ago residents were fuming when they saw the old woman Radebe ‘dumped’ outside the house because she had soiled herself. These concerned residents were left stunned as they summoned Sedibeng Ster to interve-

Several attempts were made by Sedibeng Ster to reach the extended family and Selinah Radebe ( an arthritis patient), a family member elaborated: “Maria is sick, and her pension card is not with her. Our older brother is the one who has the card. He does not want to give it to its owner. I’m sick myself. I cannot look after Maria properly. She needs extra care. “We thought it would have been better if she were taken to a home or hospice. Now the biggest problem is the card that is with our brother who is not willing to give it up,” says Selinah. She adds that the family lives on grants. “Now people think we are abusing our own sister when it is our brother who’s making the entire matter more difficult than it is. Maria needs proper care. I can’t care for her as I myself need care,” says Selinah. Attempts to get hold of the brother proved futile.

The ‘Metro’ battle continues Moleboheng Chaha

MEYERTON . - The majority of the Midvaal community blatantly told the Municipal Dermacation Board (MDB) that it was not welcome in their municipality at the Meyerton Town Hall last week. This excludes the minority who stated they were in support of the metro. The MDB was carrying out the ward delimitation and public consultation process toward amalgamating both Midvaal Local Municipality and Emfuleni Local Municipality (ELM) into a Metropolitan Municipality in 2016. The meeting was chaired by Midvaal speaker Freddie Peters and attended by Midvaal Local Municipality Mayor Bongani Baloyi, ELM Mayor Greta Hlongwane and representatives of the MDB. The Midvaal community was up in arms and ready to give voice to the fact that the MDB had not heeded their pleas that they do not want Midvaal merged with ELM to become a ‘Metro’.

Councillor Dennis Ryder voiced his dissatisfaction with the Demarcation Board’s processes and public participation to date. He made the point that Midvaal does not meet the criteria to be a Metro, and so determining Metro-size wards is impractical due to low population densities. He rejected the Metro and got the very vocal support of the majority of people at the meeting. Councillor Malcolm Hack of Midvaal says, “We called on our communities to come and be heard. We are very thankful that they took the time to be here today. This is important.” The meeting had to be adjourned after a few people kept disrupting some of the speakers and brought unrest into the meeting. A battle between those in support and those against the metro took place in the form of song and placards outside the hall. Asked for the next step in the process, Ryder was emphatic adding, “We’ll see them in court. Their processes will never stand up to judicial scrutiny.”

The people in support of the metro also made their voices heard as the MDB recently carried out its new ward delimitations and the public consultation process in Midvaal Local Municipality. Photo: Moleboheng Chaha.

Peters elected as chair of DA Sedibeng region

Lerato Serero

SEDIBENG.- Over the weekend Freddie Peters was elected as DA chairperson of the Gauteng Sedibeng region while Kingsol Chabalala was elected the regional vice chairperson. Peters also serves as the Speaker of Midvaal Local Municipality. Chabalala served as local councillor for

many years as well as a Member of the Provincial Legislature (MPL) and as DA Provincial spokesperson on Sports, Arts and Culture. In a statement the Democratic Alliance says, “DA prides itself on running reputable elective congresses characterized by both vigorous contestation and followed by a collec-

tive support behind the successfully elected leaders. The regional congress reaffirmed the commitment of the party to win Johannesburg in the 2016 local government elections following the advances made in 2014 and the ANC’s majority being reduced to just 3% in the municipality.”

The DA's Kingsol Chabalala was elected the Sedibeng Regional Vice Chairperson of the party over the weekend.

VEREENIGING. - Following visits to the Sedibeng region last year, Gauteng Premier David Makhura has outlined Government’s plan to shift the economy of the region from its said reliance on the steel industry and to diversify it by including tourism and entertainment, agro-processing and logistics. Makhura says “The development of the new Vaal River City (hydropolis) aims to unlock the potential of the waterfront developments in the Emfuleni and Midvaal areas.” Makhura adds that the private sector plans to invest more than R4 billion into this development, which will stimulate much needed economic activity. Makhura highlighted that permanent employment would be created through some of the upcoming projects. “We are working with the private sector to support 32 black farmers to plant barley and maize to be supplied to the nearby Heineken Brewery. The project will create 1 000 permanent jobs per annum over three years. “Furthermore we will introduce blue economy initiatives, which will entail intense recycling and reuse of waste to protect the environment. Our cities are currently too dirty. We need to go back to basics as we build new cities.” Makhura ends.

SEBOKENG. - What was expected to be a meeting characterised by public violence became tame when the Executive Emfulei Mayor Gretha Hlongwane responded positively to the community’s questions and suggestions. The Zone 7 Concerned Residents Forum invited Hlongwane to respond to their burning questions. The meeting was held at Zone 7 Stadium last Tuesday. Amos Mtambo, chairperson of Residents, and his deputy chairperson, Bongane Khumalo, were the first to bombard the mayor

and her entourage with questions. The community demanded that the government build more RDP houses; they complained that main contractors in community projects are from outside the region; they objected to the electricity transformer which keeps tripping. They also complained that the community did not benefit from the Extended Public Works Programme (EPWP) and added that contractors take ages to complete roads. Residents said Zone 7 is excluded from the Integrated Development Programme, IDP. In her response, the mayor said it is the

responsibility of everyone to report crime, vandalism, criminals. She said 30% of the contractors are indeed local. The EPWP is the responsibility of the Sedibeng District Municipality. All the wards are included on the IDP. Most of the community members are not paying rates and services. Unemployed people must register via their ward councillor for the indigence policy. Hlongwane also visited the community of Zone 7B and advised them to register for RDP houses at the Housing Department.

Over the weekend a relative of mine asked me a very intriguing question: “Have you ever heard the saying ‘a wolf in sheep’s clothing’?” I have heard it in a couple of places and at various times. I replied, ‘Wolf in sheeps’ clothing’ is an idiom of Biblical origin. It is used to describe those playing a role contrary to their real character, with which contact

Sometimes we tend to trust friends, but forget that human nature will turn on you some day. A human will always be a human as ‘a leopard does not change its spots’. We are all mistaken sometimes; so-

metimes we do wrong things, things that have bad consequences. It does not mean we are evil, or that we cannot be trusted forever after, but there are some people who are plain deceptive. They will laugh, eat and drink with you in bright days of your life. When you’ve got everything that has value in this world. Cosas - ‘hands off our mayor’ Mduduzi Mathebula

SHARPEVILLE. - In recent weeks Sedibeng District Municipality (SDM) was put on hold by protesters who went to the municipal offices in Vereeniging and broke down doors and windows and threatened staff demanding the removal of executive mayor Simon Mofokeng. In response to this action Sedibeng Ster was last week invited to a meeting held by Congress of South African Students (COSAS) at Thutolore Secondary School in Sharpeville. The leadership of Cosas Sedibeng - President,Sandra Baloyi, Secretary General, Khulekani Skosana, Cosas Provincial Leadership, Chairman Nkhobo Khomongoe, Treasurer, Seipati Makola, Cosas Regional Leadership,Chairman Bongane Mokoena and Secretary, Lucky Lebusa were unanimous that they wanted Mofokeng to be left alone. Their message was ‘hands off our district mayor’. “We speak to you today with a powerful and united mandate from COSAS Sedibeng. The REC made its views extremely clear in our the past REC meeting that we will not allow the action taken by so-called community members in blocking roads and burning tyres in the District, which led to students who use public transport not being able to attend classes. “COSAS in its capacity as a student organisation condemns the action taken by community members and treats this with the contempt it deserves because, for one thing, it led to disruptions of school, particularly those in Vereeniging, and the smooth running of Sedibeng, which in history of Gauteng is the only municipality which has clinched a clean audit for two consecutive years. “This truly reflects the capacity and capability of the leadership in the municipality led by hands-on executive mayor councillor Simon Mahole Mofokeng.” said Mokoena. “COSAS as an MDM structure is proud of its democratic heritage of internal ANC processes and condemns the actions of commu-

nity members,” the leaders said. Mokoena ended by stating that, “We the students of South Africa, recognising that before being students we are members of the community, society, recognising that education is a fundamental human right, believing that students have a constructive role to play in the socio–economic development of our country. “Thus the unity of students is vital to the realisation of these objectives. “We therefore believe in the vision of ONE MAYOR ONE MUNICIPALITY, ONE REGION, ONE CHAIRMAN. The only capable leader to lead us there is Comrade Simon Mahole Mofokeng.”

Act of Solidarity to improve facilities at Seeiso Primary School

BOPHELONG.- From 23 to 25 March, 10 visiting ArcelorMittal employees from around the world will come together with 20 ArcelorMittal South Africa employees and local contracting companies to renovate and refurbish four classrooms and to build a jungle gym for Grade R and Grade 1 learners at Seeiso Primary School in Bophelong. This initiative takes place as part of the ArcelorMittal Foundation’s Solidarity Holidays. The main objective of the Solidarity Holidays is to give ArcelorMittal employees across the world an opportunity to spend part of their annual leave volunte-

Reading enriches minds

MEYERTON . - “Born to Read” is an initiative by the Gauteng Department of Sports, Art, Culture and Recreation which targets pregnant women and new mothers. The idea behind the initiative is to instill a reading culture from a young age into South African children. Parents are encouraged to promote reading to their children from the time they are born. On Friday Born to Read held a programme at the Lakeside Library. Representatives from the Gauteng Department discussed the importance of reading with the new mothers, and the learners of Lakeside Primary School provided entertainment. Attendees were also given a backpack containing educational books, and a nurse provided immunisation for anyone who required it. “Illiteracy is one of the greatest challenges facing South Africa, and programmes such as Born to Read attempt to address this by fostering a love for reading.” says Midvaal Local Municipality’s Media Liason Officer

Aaliyah Dangor. According to Koekie Meyer, Gauteng’s director of Libraries and Archives Services, during their first years, babies hear speech as a series of distinct but meaningless words. By the age of one, most children began linking words to meaning. + They understand the names used to label familiar objects, body parts, animals, and people. Meyer further explains that reading and writing skills develop together. “Children learn about writing by seeing how the print in their homes, classrooms, and communities provides information. “They watch and learn as adults write – to make a list, correspond with a friend, or do a crossword puzzle.” states Meyer. “It is therefore important to ensure that parents encourage reading at home, and not just target children alone. Midvaal’s library staff are excited about the opportunities that the new Lakeside Library can provide to the community through such programmes, which enrich lives and build a better society.” concludes Dangor.

“Reading can develop a society,” this is one of the messages brought across by the Born to Read Campaign recently. Photo: Supplied.

ering for a Foundation project in a foreign country. “The programme provides a unique opportunity to bring together employees from different parts of the organisation to share valuable lessons on community development from other countries and to embed the spirit of volunteerism amongst our employees,” says Prudence Masike, Specialist of Corporate Social Responsibility and External Relations at ArcelorMittal South Africa. The ArcelorMittal Foundation’s Solidarity Holiday Programme was initiated in 2010 and this year marks the fifth anniversary of the initiative. Through Solidarity Holidays, employees are given the opportunity to engage with people from different cultures, interact closely with colleagues from other locations and make a direct contribution to the company’s social development initiatives. Since the inception of the programme, ArcelorMittal South Africa employees have participated in projects in other parts of the world. In 2014, six ArcelorMittal South Africa employees had the opportunity to volunteer for Foundation projects in Brazil, Romania, Poland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Argentina and Kazakhstan. In 2012, the programme brought 10 ArcelorMittal employees from around the world to South Africa to build houses in Orange Farm in a partnership with global NGO, Habitat for Humanity. Again in 2014, international ArcelorMittal employees joined hands with 39 local volunteers and some members of the ArcelorMittal South Africa’s management team to build six houses for disadvantaged families in Blaauwbosch and Osizweni, Newcastle.

Putco declines to renew bus services on unsustainable contracts

Lerato Serero

SEBOKENG.- Putco Pty Ltd, the biggest bus operator in South Africa, has given the Gauteng Department of Roads and Transport (GDRT) notice of its intention to discontinue certain loss-generating tender contracts after they expire on March 31. This will affect Putco’s bus services in Mamelodi, Meyerton and Kathorus (Katlehong, Vosloorus and Thokoza). Putco’s managing director Franco Pisapia

said, “Under current operating and financial terms, the affected contracts are unfortunately not financially viable and the company cannot sustain servicing them any longer. The decision to withdraw from these areas was not an easy one. During the last 3 years Putco has made every effort to resolve current issues pertaining to the underfunding of these contracts by consulting with the provincial and national departments of transport, but with no success.”

These bus contracts were awarded to Putco between 1996 and 2000 following a competitive tendering process and were initially designed to last for only five years. These tendered contracts have expired more than 10 years ago, but were extended since then by the GDRT on a month-to-month basis and more recently on a yearly basis, pending the finalisation of Integrated Transport Plans in Gauteng. Pisapia explains, “Due to the age of these contracts, the operational requirements and the cost basis of these contracts have changed dramatically since 1996 and, as a result, these bus contracts are simply no longer financially sustainable. It has been placing undue financial strain on the company for some time and is impacting negatively on Putco’s operations and services in other areas.” Putco has implemented a turnaround strategy in order to regain lost ground. Part of this is the decision not to renew these contracts in order to be better able to meet its commitment to improve bus availability and service reliability in other Putco operations. The company plans to re-deploy all available buses and other resources to its other contracted routes. This change will affect approximately 180 of Putco’s current fleet of 1,900 buses. The following bus services will be affected: • Bus services between Kathorus and Edenvale, Germiston, Linbro Park, Johannesburg Boksburg and Kempton Park. • Bus services between Evaton, Sebokeng, Orange Farm and Meyerton and the surrounding areas • Bus services between Mamelodi and the Tshwane CBD, the Southern Suburbs, the Eastern Suburbs and the Northern Suburbs of the City of Tshwane.

Pisapia adds, “Putco has continued to operate these loss-making services for years, in the interest of serving its loyal commuters and in the hope that a solution would be found to the underfunding of these contracts. Regrettably, Putco has now reached a point where it is unable to continue servicing these loss-making contracts. He said the reality is that if corrective action is not taken now, it will place all the other bus services that Putco is rendering every day to 340,000 commuters in Gauteng and Mpumalanga in jeopardy”. Putco notified the Department of Roads and Transport of its intention not to accept further extensions of the affected contracts in early February 2015. This was in order to provide the authorities with sufficient time to make arrangements to appoint replacement operators and ensure the continued provision of bus services to the communities and commuters in the affected areas. Putco has met with the GDRT and is awaiting feedback about handover plans, replacement operators and next steps. Once received, this will be communicated to all stakeholders. “Putco wishes to thank the bus commuters in Mamelodi, Meyerton and Kathorus for their loyal support to Putco during the last 19 years,” says Pisapia. “We are confident that the GDRT will prioritise a seamless change of bus operators in order to ensure that South African commuters in these areas will get to work, school and back home again with minimum disruption as of April 1. For our part, we continue to deliver on our commitment to Putco commuters served by our other contracted routes and will work hard to continue to improve the quality, safety and reliability of our bus services.”

TAC urges government to provide condoms in schools Mduduzi Mathebula

SEBOKENG. - Treatment Action Campaign hosted one of the greatest debates ever in Vaal schools lobbying for the Department of Education and Health to provide condoms for learners in school. The debate was held on Friday at Trinity Assemblies of God Church in Boitumelo. The primary aim of the event was to promote the idea of school-access to condoms on the premises, taking into consideration that young people are sexually active possibly contributing to the spread of HIV. Six schools wrestled on this issue,

Portia Serote (National TAC) says the government is failing learners by giving them rights without responsibilities, citing the right of children aged 12 - 16 to pursue abortion without their parents’ consent. She further cited pregnancy rights of a learner. Serote said: “We engage the government on comprehensive sex education in schools and dispute reports that there has been a decline in the use of condoms. “Statistics suggest one in three girls will fall pregnant whilst still in school so it is clear that these children are having sex.”

which was put forward by the TAC. Two schools did not turn up. Participating schools were Crystal Springs Combined, Boitumelo, Deep Knowledge and Residensia Secondary Schools. Lebohang Pitso from TAC Sedibeng says the initiative came through intensive research about the state of HIV. The four schools went head to head locking horns over the issue, using facts to view the matter tabled before them. The masses enjoyed every moment of the debate.

Big Save Cash & Carry Evaton: Supermarket & Wholesaler

Address: 175 Adams Road, Evaton. Big Save started out in 1989 as a family business, owned by the Jardim Family, trading as Waltloo Wholesalers. In 1995, it changed its name to Big Save. Big Save Evaton is part of the Big Save Group, which has 5 other Cash & Carry outlets and 5 liquor outlets, all trading under the Big Save brand. George Versfeld and Patrick Oertel partnered with Big Save in a joint venture to open the Evaton Branch. The other Big Save stores are in Waltloo, Pretoria Market, Hammanskraal, Mabopane and Marble Hall. The building in which Big Save Evaton is located, was built 5 years

ago and had been waiting for a suitable operator to commence business. During 2014, Patrick Oertel, who has 33 years experience in retailing and wholesaling in South Africa, and George Versfeld, who has 35 years experience in banking in South Africa, Ghana and Zimbabwe, concluded a deal with the Big Save Group which led to Big Save Evaton opening its doors on the 12 December, 2014. Big Save Evaton employed 90% of its staff from the Evaton/Sebokeng area, almost all of whom had been previously unemployed. Big Save Evaton offers a comprehensive range of groceries, perish-

able and non-food items and also has its own in-store bakery, butchery and fruit & veg department. Big Save Evaton is referred to as a “hybrid” store in that it caters for the needs of traders and public alike. Until now, traders and organisations wanting to buy in bulk at competitive prices had to travel far distances. Now, it’s on their doorstep. Due to it been part of the Big Save Group and its affiliation with the Independent Cash & Carry (ICC) buying group, Big Save Evaton is able to compete in terms of price with the larger, more established participants in the FMCG industry.

Being owner-managed, Big Save Evaton is passionate about fulfilling customer needs and providing excellent customer service. Our staff is always reminded that nobody works for Big Save Evaton. We all work for our customers, who are our ultimate employers and who pay our wages. Without good service, we will not keep our customers. Without our customers, we will not keep our jobs. Big Save Evaton invites all to visit our store and see what we have to offer.

NWU Vaal FC player in SA U/23 National Team Zacharia Nale

VANDERBIJLPARK. - NWU Vaal FC might be facing relegation in the ABC Motsepe League but the institution should be proud to have a player like Sifiso Nkosi in the SA U/23 National team. The NWU Vaal FC may well be languishing at the bottom of the ABC Motsepe League Log and there is no hope that the club will escape the relegation axe, taking into consideration how they lose matches left, right and centre. However, club head coach Thomas Thema says they might be doing badly in the league, but all the players are motivated by the fact that one of their teammates is part of the SA U/23 National team. Thema believes this is a big achievement for the institution despite the circumstance they find themselves in as far as relegation is concerned. To Sedibeng Ster Sport, Thema says as much as they are against relegation’s

“ropes”, it is encouraging to have one player in the national team set-up. He believes this will serve as motivation to other players so that they `pull miracles’. “I know everyone is worried about NWU Vaal FC being relegated at the end of the season but we are grateful to have a player in the U/23 National Team. In fact we’re very fortunate because we played very well. Luck is not on our side but it is not over until the proverbial fat lady sings and we will keep on fighting until we have shed our last drop of blood. In this game you never know until it is over. We will keep on working hard and we will use Sifiso Nkosi’s success to motivate our boys,” concluded Thema. Meanwhile NWU Vaal FC played against Monash at UJ Campus in the ABC Motsepe League on Tuesday. However, at the time of going to press Sedibeng Ster Sport was still waiting for the outcome of the game.
