When Ethan Allen was testing 3D room planning software in 2020, they invited a small group of interior designers to try it out and give their feedback. Jenny Grip of Brentwood, Tennessee, was one of them—and five years later, she won a Spirit Award for Excellence in 3D rendering.
When a client approached Jenny about downsizing into a 1,400 square-foot-condo, Jenny started by tackling the main room‘s open floor plan, creating defined, functional spaces for relaxing and entertaining. She chose a lighter palette to keep the small space bright, adding contrast with dark wood finishes and navy fabrics. For the very visible patio, she chose the Mylos collection, achieving a seamless blend of classic and contemporary.
Jenny then extended the lighter palette into the client‘s bedroom, opting for pale blues and yellows. “It was a smaller space, so we had to get creative with storage solutions,“ she recalls.
The result was everything the client wanted: living space for relaxing, dining space for hosting dinner parties, and the ease of living in a smaller space without skimping on style. “My clients seem to love the 3D planner and are able to visualize their spaces so much better,“ Jenny says. “They really feel like they can see what the room will look like in the end.“
